I saw this on GameFAQS, and it was linked it to Kotaku. Apparently, it's been confirmed as true by Major Nelson. Supposedly, if you've had Xbox Live for 10 years, Microsoft is mailing out a custom Xbox 360 to thank you. There are pictures of this custom console and controller at the Kotaku article.
There's discrepancy about how you can earn this. Some have reported that they've had Xbox Live for the full 10 years, some have said they've received the console from only 8 years of Live, and some others have said that they've had a Live account for 10 years, but it wasn't always gold.
Just make sure to check your e-mails for this offer if you've had Xbox Live (Gold?) for a long time. It seems that Microsoft is sending out e-mails to recipients of these to ensure that they have the correct mailing address for their users.
