FINAL FANTASY VII: ADVENT CHILDREN
Square Enix and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment celebrate the launch of FINAL FANTASY VII: ADVENT CHILDREN with a one-night only special screening at the Cinerama Dome at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood!

We are excited to announce a special screening of FINAL FANTASY VII: ADVENT CHILDREN at the ArcLight Cinemas (www.arclightcinemas.com) at 6360 W. Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles, California, at 7:00PM on Monday, April 3rd. The screening is open to the public, so don't miss this one and only chance to see the long-awaited film in high definition on the big screen weeks ahead of the April 25th launch of the DVD and UMD video.

The screening will take place at the Cinerama Dome, the signature marquee on Sunset Boulevard which seats over 800 people and has been host to four decades of premieres and blockbusters. Guaranteed admission to the screening will be handed out at noon in front of the Dome while supplies last. Any additional open seats will be distributed at the time of the screening, but we strongly recommend trying to secure a seat at noon to be guaranteed entry.

Key production staff and cast are scheduled for appearance following the screening, so don't miss this chance to get up close and personal to the people involved in bringing this ambitious project to life!

This screening is complementary and tickets will not be for sale at the event. Only one guaranteed admission will be provided to each person at noon while supplies last. Any kind of recording device is strictly prohibited.
Didn't see this posted, but as it says free screening 4/3 at the arclight or dome. I'd go but you have to be there at noon to get tickets, and its one ticket per person.

Damn, I have classes on Monday and all day Tuesday otherwise I would do that. It would probably be insane though..

FREE and FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN might have a weird effect on people

I just got back from the premiere screening of the American release. The voice actors/actresses (VA's) for Cloud, Tifa, and Aeris were there, along with several key Japanese staff members, including Tetsuya Nomura.

I'm pretty surprised at the dub; it's pretty dang good. The VA's knew their stuff. Tifa had some off-key delivery at rare points, though. There was some flubs in the whole mouth-synching-with-the-voice, but it's only apparent in close-up shots. The voices were clear, distinct, and appropriate. Well, except for Cait Sith's incomprehensible Scottish/Irish(?) accent.

Action on the big screen does not translate well. With the high speed movements and camera angle changes, it can get quite dizzying. It looked good though, despite not being clear about what the heck is going on.

All in all, I REALLY enjoyed the experience. WAAY better than Spirits Within; they put actual work into making this good, and it shows. Thanks to Sony Pictures and crew for having the screening.

Also, at the end, they gave away a promotional bag with a small movie poster and the 2 disc soundtrack. Sweet swag. I'm definately picking this up on DVD when it's out.

I was there, too.

The action was pretty normal for Asian movies. They frequently do things so fast it's damn near impossible to know what is really happening. I suspect a lot of people will be watching this at half speed during some points.

Seeing this in 1080i on the bigscreen compared to the Japanese promo DVD I've watched showed a huge difference. This will make a fabulous demo for Blu-ray.

One annoyance is that the aftermath of FFVII is clarified but we still don't know what the hell is happening 498 years later. The last scene from the game is replicated in the movie but we aren't told if humans still exist and if they do what kind of civilization they have.

Also, trailer for FFVII: Dirge of Cerebus looked amazing and the gameplay on the PSP was promising. Could be the hit Sony has been waiting for.

Free soundtrack and Steve Burton signed my DS. Awesome. I wish I looked underneath my seat though...

"Asian" movies, mostly the Hong Kong martial arts ones, pan the camera out and shoot long, very well choreographed scenes so the actors/actresses can strut their stuff. Watch Jackie Chan movies and you'll see EXACTLY what's going on. HOLLYWOOD is the one that's famous for fast cuts/quick camera movements to hide bad fighting *cough* Bourne *cough*.

djkunai, you had a star under your seat? All I found were...napkins. EWW. :cold:
I wish I coulda stuck around for autographs too...

Dirge of Cerberus sucks ASS. SUCKS ASSSSSSS.
