Congratulations to everyone who got something from Freeslide. Thanks for the friendly emails and PMs.

If you didn't get all your offers done before FS changed their rules, I found a better method of getting the mini or a 15G iPod or a $250 iTunes GC. A lot of other forums have been succesful in these conga lines, and unlike Freeslide, Freeipods.com actually encourages it!

They even recommend using forums to get referrals!

Here's how the Conga works. I'll post my referral link at the top of the list. When anyone signs up under me, post your referral link, and I'll add it under mine in the list. When I get 5, I'll remove mine from the top of the list, and everyone else's will move up. Since you only need to complete one offer and points credit quickly, the line should move pretty fast, rarely with more than 6 links in it. I'll try to update once a day at 10-11 a.m. (except weekends, when I'll update when I can).

As for offers, I would suggest Ancestry.com if you haven't already used that for something else (but I bet most of us have), with must be cancelled in 14 days but only costs $1.
The wrinkle cream sample costs $6.95 but must be RETURNED within 14 days (the sample) or you will be charged.
Video Professor is also $6.95 and everything but the one video you get to keep must be returned or you get charged.
I like to use "Return to Sender" for these type of things.

UPDATE: I just heard that the site has problems with Hotmail accounts. If you used a Hotmail account, I would switch it to another free email account from the Update Account Info screen.

The guy on the phone asked the reason I wanted to cancel. I told him it wasn't what I was looking for and he said "Ok, thanks for trying us out. Here is your confirmation number for unsubscribing. Nothing will be charged to your credit card."
 
I'm game as long as someone can confirm I don't have to pay one cent if I cancel the Family Tree thing before the end of the 14 days.(I have a Visa Buxx, if I go over, then it REALLY sucks for me)So can anyone confirm this? Thanks a bunch. I already have an iPod Mini, but they sell for around 280+ shipping on Ebay, so I'd get my money back and then some if I sold one.

Well, I canceled ancestry and got a confirmation number. Is that the same? Since they didn't charge anything to my card its kinda hard to get credit back. If you mean credit on freeipods.com, yes they gave me credit for signing up and when i canceled it stayed credited.[/quote]

I also got credit at freeipods after signing up and canceling my account for Ancestry. I stayed active for about a couple of days until I finally got it cancelled.
 
Well it looks like I should be fine, so..... I just call up and cancel after I sign up and then I get my credit # or whatever?
 
I wonder if with the size of this message board, if its even possible for me to finally get to the top..... Hmm.... I doubt it. Oh well, I must spam another board now...

See my entry a couple of posts back about putting up fliers in your community. I am convinced that doing so is the fastest way. You probably will get all your referals before you even hit the top of the list.
 
Will..... Optonline.net work? I haven't gotten a verification e-mail but it says I'm logged in. Also, I'm interested in doing that local thing, but where would I post the info in my neighborhood, and how would I do it? I put my own link on it correct?
 
I just signed up for the GM card, as there's no way for me to get charged anything for that. I should get it and i will cancel it or keep it based on the apr I get. I don't have need for many other cards as I have the king of all credit cards!!! The LOWES PLATINUM 5.99APR FIXED card. It's bad friggin ass.
 
well, my referal is at the top of the list, but none of the people who signed up completed a deal. Whats up people! You have to complete your deals to make this work :)

Also I was bored and it hit me. Why limit myself to waiting in line on this site? I'm going to hang fliers around town and get my referals faster. I whipped this up to give all you CAG's some ideas. It's a word doc so just click on the dragon pic at the link below to download it. You can just change this stuff to your referral link and off you go! There should be a lot less competition in your local area I would think.
Oh, and to get the little tabs at the bottom that people can tear off? All I did was take the text in paintshop, flip it 90 degrees and pasted it into the word doc. Enjoy!

why is it saying that i have not completed one of the offers. I have including my credit card. it was ancestry.com to be precise.
 
Well, when Goldfinger, RaidersFan, StephanRules and Way_Sweet complete an offer and I get one more person, I'll hold it up proudly. (The 15GB iPod of course. The mini's are crap to me)

If you get that card (I doubt you will) you'd be lucky to have a credit limit over $50 dollars. Anyone who signs up for a Credit Card on the off-chance that they might get an i-pod needs a good kick in the butt. And if I need to explain why, I'll assume you're 15.

Be sure to read Feldbum's post at the beginning, the only way the line works is if everyone adding their link at the bottom has made themselves a referral of whomever is at the top of the list, otherwise the top will never move, and the list will just get longer. In theory, every fifth addition should knock someone off the top. In practice, the list is just getting longer.
 
Still waiting for bigkevbosky, cbgorski, and linkin4 to complete their offer, and get a couple more added, then I can get the hell out of your way!
