I don't know the details on how discounted the game rentals are, but I bet some CAGs do.

This limited time offer, ends May 8th, to try BLOCKBUSTER Total Access FREE for one whole month! The plan details are:
 • $9.99 per month after trial
 • 2 DVDs per month, 1 at a time
 • Up to 2 In-Store Exchanges per month
 • No Due Dates or Late Fees for Online Rentals
 • Share Movie Recommendations with Friends and Family
 • Choose from over 80,000 titles
With BLOCKBUSTER Total Access, you can exchange your Online DVDs for free in-store movie rentals, up to the monthly limit set by your plan. Or, you can enjoy a discount on game rentals with the exchange of your Online DVD envelope at participating locations. (Discounted game rentals count toward your pre-determined number of monthly exchanges.) If the pre-determined number of free in-store exchanges is met during the calendar month, you have the ability to exchange your Online DVDs for discounted movie rentals for the remainder of the month. The pre-determined number for free in-store exchanges is reset at the start of the calendar month.

I signed up. I might see if this couldn't replace my Netflix and Gamefly subs. Get movies through the mail and return them to a B&M store for another movie or game.

I rent ALOT of Anime from Netflix. BB does not have that.. i pay 13.99 a month for 2 movies at a time with Netflix i get my movies day after i ship them.. send out monday.. they ship me new ones Tuesday.. i get them wends day..

I used BB, and Netflix in the past.

BB was good until they stopped giving away free game rental coupons each month. Then I moved and there were no BB close by.

I switched to Netflix. They came in the mail a little faster, maybe 1 day. But its still a rip-off.

I wanted to use it for Blu-ray or HD-dvd and they never had any of the new releases in stock. I had to keep changing the movies i wanted to regular format, so they wouldn't send me the crap at the bottom of my list.

I rent all my movies thru Redbox now. I have one in the Acme grocery store on my way home from work. Rental $1 per night and I only rent them if I'm watching them that night. So $1 is the way to go for me. If anyone has a redbox, or the other rental machine I highly suggest them.

If BB, or Netflix has gotten any better with the HD, or blu ray dvds I'd like to know. I cancelled netflix 4 months ago.

No idea for Blu Ray-I suspect it'll get much better over time. But for regular DVD at least, Netflix is a steal from my experience. I'm really thankful for it because I actually get to watch stuff I'd never otherwise see.

AFaik they don't discount game rentals any longer with a movie exchange. I had the plan and canceled earlier this year when they dropped support for this.

LOL going back to Blockbuster after 6 months of Gamefly, no thanks. Not to mention I find movies useless so /care.

I signed up a few days ago and I already got Spiderman 3. We only get two total movies with this, right? So I need to figure out what other movie I've been wanting to see.
3 out at a time, unlimited instore exchanges, 1 game/movie coupon for $20 a month.
This is currently my plan, well it was $18 a month until late last year they decided to up it $2 with no warning which kind of pissed me off.

With that said Blockbuster is hands down the best way to go if you get the total access plans. Because like the previous poster said you get about 6 a week and about the same from Netflix, however when you do an in store exchange that doubles the amount to 12 a week, plus blockbuster counts it as checked in right then and there and mail out the next movie in your queue the next day, if done right you could go nuts with 18 movies a week (9 mailed and 9 in store exchanges), but who has that kind of time.

The monthly coupon is great because it gets you a game for 2 weeks. (or longer but then they start calling :D)

Another bad thing though is blockbuster has been accused of throttling, netflix also, in fact I think every online movie and game rental place has. What this is is they give new customers priority, while older customers with the same movie in their queue get throttled, thus making the service appear more attractive to the new users and making the service poor for old customers. I think since the class action suite was filed this has all but gone away, but I still wonder cause I've had some movies in my queue for months.

And to the user that said piracy is better, maybe for standard DVDs, but until Blu-Ray is common, piracy nowhere near touches it. My .02!
