Straight off the website:

On February 28, 2006 from 7 AM to 2 PM IHOPs across the country will celebrate National Pancake Day (also known as Shrove Tuesday) by offering our guests a free short stack of pancakes*. This is going to be our biggest one day celebration in our history.

National Pancake Day has a rich history that stretches back centuries and has always been a time of celebration. National Pancake Day always falls on Fat Tuesday and this year it will be a celebration at IHOP.

So gather your friends, family and neighbors and come to your local IHOP and enjoy a short stack of pancakes on us. All we ask is that you consider making a donation to a great charity like First Book or other local, worthy cause. Where else would you celebrate National Pancake Day than IHOP? See you there.

* Limit one free short stack per guest. Valid for dine-in only, no to go orders. Not valid with any other offer, special, coupon, or discount. Valid at participating restaurants only, while supplies last.

thanks for the reminder. theres a iHop by the local ebgames I frequent, although I've never dined at an iHop restaurant before, I want my free pancakes :D

Not even free is worth the suffering your bowels will experience following a meal at Ihop. Do yourself a favor and keep the "I've never dined at an ihop restaurant before" intact.

IHOP is amazing, at least the one near me. I can understand why you'd say that about them though BSB, as there are a few that are just horrible.

I have to agree. I can't touch their food, else it leads to some nasty results ;)

Dude, if you think IHOP's pancakes are "the bomb", you've never eaten at a good cafe that makes their own pancakes from scratch, huh? IHOP, Denny's, etc. fit in a class of restaurant I like to call vomitoriums.
So did anyone go? How was it? Crowded as fuck?
I went to mine for Lunch, and got a stack of 3. I had to ask for the classic butter cause mine tends to hand you tons of margarine..yuk.

Anyway, my iHop has great management and the food is ... ok for restaurant food but the pancakes were great, considering the price - FREE.

It was packed at lunch, when I went to eat them for my lunch. If it was that busy for lunch, I imagine the AM must have had a line. Since there is no other iHop near this one for a good 8 or 10 miles...
