Free Schwan's Food - $9.99 or under

In for 8 1/4 pound patties. Those should last me a while - if I got ice cream it would be gone in 3 days tops...

In for some ripple ice cream. They are calling to confirm a time. none of the days they gave me worked but next week my girlfriend will be home. ice cream will be .02 cents!
ice cream will be .02 cents!
You mean $0.02. ;) Why would they make you pay less than a cent for something. lol
Has anybody had their order delivered in the middle of the night? I have some ice cream set to be delivered 8/13 at 12:00 am.
That would be awsome lol, Swans man in Pajama's drops some icecream off at you door... probably more like throws it at your door....

Got my french garlic bread yesterday. Even though my order said I had to pay $0.07 in taxes, I was not charged a thing. Hooray!

I'm thinking more like a woman dropping it off and coming in, then reenacting every porn movie i've ever seen
Can't decide.

I'm thinking pizza, chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches or the quarter pound burgers.

Opinions?

EDIT: Ha I went with the TOASTWICH Grilled Cheese thingers. http://www.schwans.com/products/productDetail.aspx?id=55359
Saw you already decided but for others - I got my chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches - they are really good but also pretty small (I would never pay $10 for them). It was between those, the 10 ice cream bars, or a gallon of ice cream (no space in freezer though).

so they call you personally and you set up a time for delivery, is that how it works?? If I can definitely get it delivered when I KNOW that I'll be home then I'll definitely give this a shot.

They have good food, the price gets a little bit high, but they use quality ingredients.

They also are the makers of red baron and freshcettas pizza. They use real cream as the first ingredient of their ice cream..

Good stuff.

We received our free frozen burgers yesterday. They actually came apart with little effort! Quite unbelievable. Also ordered some of the Chocolate Almond ice cream...killer. :D Thanks again OP!
I ordered on the 5th and the delivery date is on the 19th. wtf? 2 weeks to deliver 1 gallon of ice cream is ridiculous. I know it's free, but I think that is a bad look on a new customer. I've seen a few things that are priced right and don't mind ordering again in the future but i'm skeptical now as I wouldn't want to wait later on down the line again and go through this. Anyone else having to wait a long time or am I the only one?
That's just when the Schwan's guy is in your area. They will wait to deliver until he comes by your house. It's like that in my town. The guy only comes around or is around every 2 weeks or so.

they never called but had a note on the door saying sorry they missed me and will try again on the 27th? long time to wait for my free ice cream, but free is free.

So, after eating a ridiculous amount of cookies and cream ice cream, I'm pretty sure I will be making future purchases from Schwan's.

This promotion worked precisely as planned on me, haha.

Guy was supposed to come yesterday, waited ALL day until 7:30 when I had to run to the store real fast, and he friggin' showed up while I was gone for that half hour time period. Found a note on the door saying "Sorry we missed you". Guy left a contact number but no return date. I'm not gonna bother calling, not like I paid money for the food.

They usually only deliver one day a week, every other week.

I just got my ice cream today and was talking to the guy. I got lucky because instead of calling me to setup a time like he was supposed to, he called as he was on the way. I was just headed home from work myself, and told him I would be home soon - I ended up beating him home.

He was telling me that they were swamped with orders from this free thing, and that they are doing everything they can to get the orders ready and give people notice. If you got the note, try and remember what day it was on, and in two weeks, they will probably be back. They should have called though, if you left your numbers.

I got the call an hour early and he set up the time. He was real persistent (I gave them my house phone and someone had misplaced the handset so I couldn't pick up. Luckily he left his number and I called him through my cell phone. I was shocked at how nice he was, and he sure as hell knew his stuff. (Mr. Malamud told me he worked there for 14 years now). I ended up buying some ice cream and sushi, and it rang a little high (For the total, not for all that I got.) but I definitely don't regret it because it's some delicious food.

So I'm curious, are all the drivers as courteous?

I used to work for Schwans. Please do not buy from this company and do not work for them.

a site has been set up at tripple w retail reality dot net that is frequented by former and present Rt Mngrs. The company has been involved in serious unethical business conduct.

...soo....how is this affecting my free burgers?
awesome just ordered 5 things free food

2 orders burgers
mini corn dogs
chicken nuggets
pot pies
you live at 5 different places?

I got my cheese tortilini delivered. Missed the first delivery and was leaving the house at about 7pm when I saw the Schwan's Truck rollin up and got to him. He was INCREDIBLY nice, seemed like a good middle-aged guy who was working hard. He said he loves their ice cream in particular. Also said the free item has boosted deliveries quite a bit.

He asked if he could come back in a couple weeks to ask what I thought of the food and I told him sure. Might order from them again if the food is good, but the service was outstanding. Food is a little pricey though, so it might be like a gallon of ice cream as a treat every once in awhile.

Placed my order earlier in the week but have yet to get a call from them to setup the delivery. I'll e-mail them or give them a call tomorrow to see what's going on.
