Free Xbox 360 Games (from Trainn...who is updating slowly)
I thought that an update was coming at the end of the month. Is there gonna be an update soon??
im not really bothered by the no update, i already pre-ordered gta, il be set until june lol :joystick: :twoguns:

I signed up for zooba, but it hasn't credited yet (almost 24 hours later). Also, there's no welcome email, so if I have to file an MCR, how the hell do I do that?
I love how people come on here looking for guarantees when companies are free to change their policies at any time. All we can tell you is what worked for us. It's no "claim" that some of us were able to cancel without ordering any books. Some of us did the Zooba offer over 6 months ago. At that time, even cancelling through email was no problem. Could things have changed since then? Sure! It's up to you to decide if the reward is worth the risk.
Uh, sorry I didn't say what you wanted me to say?

He asked a question, I said my view on it. I just did the offer a little ways back, and cancelled by phone, and didn't get charged or have to order books.

And actually, if you take the time to go back through the posts of people talking about Zooba, a lot of people agreed with what I posted up there, and at that time even, people were NOT being able to cancel without ordering books via email.

Well, I finally got another response from Trainn concerning the tax filing process. They're baffled as to why I haven't received my 1099 form because their accounting department has "sent" it twice. Since I told them I have to file by April 1st, they're supposed to be emailing me a copy so I'll at least have the information to fill in on my 1040. Tomorrow is the 31st, so we'll see if they can actually meet the deadline. They did stress to me that it is imperative to include the information when I file though, so Rig and lilboo, you might want to figure something out. I think I'll definitely stay under the $600 mark this year though. Not worth the hassle.

No, I don't have a problem with your "view on it". My point was just that there's no such thing as an "ironproof statement". Like several others, I've been with this thread since Part 1, and a lot of us did some of the offers a long time ago. When we post that "I signed up for ____, and was able to cancel by _____", it's just a reference for others to use.

As time goes by, companies can change their policies, and our methods won't always work. I didn't mean to single you out, but I've seen some people on here saying we "claimed" to be able to cancel without buying anything...as if we made it up. It's just hard to guarantee that the way something worked 5 months ago is the way it works now. Hell, it can even vary depending on who answers your call/email.

Again, sorry to single you out. But some people on here want a step-by-step guide on how this works...and that just doesn't really exist. Plenty of us have been screwed by unauthorized charges, long weekends, spam mail/calls, missing confirmation emails, etc. It's just the process.
how long does it take trainn to respond back to emails? I sent them an email about missing credit over 10 days ago and I haven't heard back
Honestly, these days it seems you're better off submitting a support ticket. Just make sure the required time has passed for your MCR (10 BUSINESS days..aka 2 weeks) Otherwise, you'll just get a standard response.

Thanks for your update. I fired off another email/support ticket combo tonight.

No problem man. I'm just getting frustrated as hell with Trainn's half-serious approach to the subject. They keep telling me how important the info is and how their "legally required" to send it, yet I still don't have it.

Rather than responding to my ticket telling me that they'll tell accounting to email me the info...why not just email me the fucking info? lol. I know it's a different "department", but seriously! Come on! How big can that company be? :bomb:

Its a stall tactic.

I dont think these companies are very big at all and are mainly people working out of their homes. At least in regards to MegaFreebies. The Amazon receipt I got from the game I ordered from them in the bit where it puts who ordered the item, was a guys name and the address was a residential address.

I dont think Trainn is very big at all. The amount of time it takes them to answer emails and that sort of thing shows it. If anything its run by one guy whos hired a few people to help him out.
anyone have an answer about filing MCRs for zooba?
frosty $$$$a,

I e-mailed them asked for one. The confirmation e-mail showed up a few days later. So, I'd suggest e-mailing zooba.

Man that sucks about the tax forms, I figured this would happen so I cut myself off at around $590 in games.

To answer my own question from earlier and to bring notice if anyone cares lol. You can request the wired version of Guitar Hero III.

im in the process of canceling both of those right now and calling the autoadvantage # i have here, i only get some spanish speaking teleprompt.

wtf is with zooba's customer service? their email system must be broken. i called and asked for the return address and it's just the company name, city, state and zip...no street address or p.o. box. weird.

Il def keep that in mind. I remember when the tax issue started unfolding and idk if i posted it or not but i remember thinking you (rig maybe) should just wait until the year is over
Its been 2 weeks and i got no credit for AutoVantage or Great fun. This is great fun for me.
I got a laugh out of that. Its probably not that funny to you though

Actually, does anyone know their tax and shipping cost info is? I'd like to know how close I am to the $600 limit with Trainn.
Actually, does anyone know their tax and shipping cost info is? I'd like to know how close I am to the $600 limit with Trainn.
you can probably open a support ticket, if you are just ordering normal $60 games then figure you should be concerned around game number 7 on the year. Idk if they factor in shipping and tax towards the $600 limit. Obviously you will get less games if you order bundles and sets like guitar hero

i just checked my account and it's been over 20 days so I'll submit a support ticket. Are these faster?

My impression from the other members is that the customer support is pretty slow right now, so to answer your question, it sounds like neither option is "fast"

Actually I put in orders for GH2/3 last year, so those are okay, heh.

I was hoping someone else already had this info here, considering how long it takes Trainn to respond. Especially seeing as how people who ordered over $600 still haven't gotten their tax forms! That's really inexcusable.

Well, not going over $600 last year really wasn't an option for me. The whole reason I started doing offers was I decided it was the easiest way to obtain a PS3. I got 9 GH2 bundles from Trainn, sold them all, and bought my PS3. That alone put me over $600...not to mention the other $600 I earned in regular games, haha. I just want to get through this once. I doubt I'd even be able to earn $600 again this year due to the lack of offers I can do.

On a related note. Trainn's promised "within 24 hours" tax info email is nowhere to be seen. I'm filing my taxes in the morning. If Trainn gets screwed by this, it's their own fault. I kept copies of all the emails in case anything comes of it. I guess we'll see.
is free credit report cancellable online, or do you have to call?
I called. The guy won't shut up, but just keep on saying no :).

haha, sounds easy enough, do they give you the number to call when you sign up?

Should be on the first page of this thread :)

there's no freecreditrrport.com info on the op :(

just wanted to be sure since a lot of places don't seem to make their phone numbers obvious to find, even when they send the confirmation e-mail.

Here you go: 1-877-481-6826

Called it in, and could barely understand the guy. Just kept saying that I wasn't interested and I have a cancelation email for my troubles.

for the zooba offer did you guys get any email after signing up with them?
i havent gotten one email yet, i also ordered a book and no confirmation
seems really weird...also when i check my orders no info is available

maybe it didnt go through, but it seems that i got credited instantly

I never received a welcome email, but it credited instantly.

When I cancelled, I received an email, though.

Exactly what I did with that offer lol. Great offer tho.

It looks like they took down Word Advantage, Carebears Book Club, and Interactive Kids Club. I hope the update comes soon.

Unless Trainn filed the forms with the IRS and never sent you a copy. Then you'll be kinda screwed.

Well, I did blockbuster, but I didnt do it on my main pc. I was logged in to my account though. Anyone ever do this and still get credit.

... Soon theres going to no offers left on the site.
Unless Trainn filed the forms with the IRS and never sent you a copy. Then you'll be kinda screwed.
I'm no tax professional, but it seems like there should be a way to report additional income, even if you didn't get the form from Trainn. I would imagine you could just say "I made x plus this much from 'other'" or something.
Unless Trainn filed the forms with the IRS and never sent you a copy. Then you'll be kinda screwed.
Well, for those of you playing along at home, Trainn CLAIMS they sent the forms, but out of myself, Rig, and lilboo, none of us have received them. Doesn't that seem off to anybody else? It's so freakin weird too because this is more like the behavior of a scam company...and yet...we've all gotten a shit ton of games from them. It's just mind bottling! haha

And yeah, there is a section for "additional income". I guess I'll just take a rough guess at it. The problem is, there's also a big section that asks about 1099 forms for earning over $600 from a single company. The only good thing about that is it asks "did you receive any 1099 forms?" So I can technically say "no" and not be lying. I just don't want it to count against me twice or anything stupid.

Seriously though, this is dumb for us to even have to worry over because even $1,200 worth of free videogames is not going to get anybody "ahead" in this country. I would hope the IRS has more important issues to deal with.
I was having problems two days ago, where it put me in limbo or would hang up on me.

I called yesterday and had a super long hold time. The nice CSR found my account (Google and eBay Auction, even though I was only canceling google SEO) and before I had a chance to confirm, my cell dropped the call (I was driving home from work and hit a dead zone). I called back, and the office was closed.

I called back again today, and confirmed that even though the call was dropped, both accounts were cancelled.

But, I was calling just before they were closing, so that may explain why the hold times were logn for me.
It's weird, but I still can't get through to them. When I call, it says my call can't be completed as dialed...which makes no sense. I've checked the number 100 times, and my phone doesn't have a problem calling any other 800 numbers. I'm going to try from a different phone today. But I can't figure out what would be causing this. Thoughts from anyone?

be aware that zooba has become bomc2.com "powered by book-of-the-month". I'm betting this is why customer service has ignored me as well why as it didn't credit for YF360G.com for me. bastards.

Finally got my Disney credit after 2 months of back and forth with customer service. Now trying to decide if I should get GTA4 with it after all. I completely forgot that I am moving the day after it ships, and I would hate for it to get "lost in transit"

Well, I filed my taxes this morning...without any help from Trainn. Their email never came, so I decided to at least include a best guess at my winnings under the "hobbies" category in the "extra income" section. The only problem is, you can't label what that "hobby" is, so I'm worried that if the IRS sees the W9 form I sent Trainn, they're going to be wondering where the hell that 1099 is. I claimed the money, I just didn't claim it in the right spot...but that's Trainn's fault, and I hope the IRS agrees.

In the meantime, I have an MCR for freecreditreport that I'm waiting on...HA! Part of me wonders if i've pissed Trainn off too bad to even be able to use the site anymore. Looks like I might be going over to megafreebies.

You know...I just had a thought.

I had some bad luck where I lost my bank card last night. So, in 7 to ten days, I'll have a new one.

The upside? I should be able to do another Pacific Network deal or two now!
