Free Xbox 360 Games (from Trainn...who is updating slowly)

Speaking of the "tax situation," I have a question maybe someone can answer. I placed two orders on 12/29/07, but they weren't shipped until 1/5/08. Am I correct in assuming that they count on the 2008 tax year, because that's when they were actually fulfilled?
Just an observation here, but has anybody else noticed that it seems like a shit ton of games have been "lost" lately, with Trainn having to "resend" them. What the hell is going on? They mainly order from Amazon. Amazon does not have that big of a shipping problem.

As Rig mentioned, and I've been suspecting, Trainn might be dying a slow death. It's one thing to get backed up over the holidays, but something just isn't right. They still haven't answered my email or support ticket about the tax situation. I guess nothing good lasts forever.
I'm gonna have to agree as well. They've had to "re-ship" a game a few times to me, and I've yet to see it, even with a few other games coming in that time.

Man, I sure hope not. I have 4 credits and am waiting for some games to come out later this year. The first order I did with them was GHIII, and I got it relatively fast, about 2 weeks from the order to my door. My second order is GHII, placed mid-Feb, and it changed to "Shipping Soon" a few days ago. Hopefully that means that they'll order it this week...

There's no way they're dying.

Got my Bully today and canceled by last outstanding offer. Going to hopefully rack up two more this week and let 'em sit with the two I currently have, which I'll be spending on GTAIV.

i got my credit for eMusic today as well. Just placed an order for GHIII, but im not expecting to see it anytime before april, which really isnt a problem for me, as i got 3 games from them before that, that im gonna play.

I just need my MCR's to go through so i can make my last order for a while. I wanna get GTA 4 with it, but im not waiting that long to play it, i wanna play it on release.
Well, I guess I haven't canceled my last offer yet. AutoVantage won't connect me. :/
I still gotta cancel autovantage and complete home. I think im gonna try doing complete home today, and autovantage a little later in the week.

Although if theyre not connecting, im not gonna be happy if they charge me for something.

Finally got through. Have fun canceling those two, they have a huge speech to go through to try and get you to stay. Great Fun does as well. All three tell me like three times "So with these great benefits in mind, I will be keeping your account active, okay?"

Le sigh.

I was on the line and done with the Autovantage and Complete Home offers in a minute or two. All I said was I didn't think I would use the service enough to justify the costs, and I wanted to cancel my account. When they said anything else, I just said as soon as possible (politely interrupting if I had to), "I understand, but I would like to cancel my account."

No one ever said they would keep it active. After I said it twice or maybe three times, they just gave me my cancellation numbers without further protest. Not bad at all.

I'm hoping Great Fun is 3-for-3 in a week or so.

same for me too. my friend is also in the same boat.

What has been the turn around for the Drums? I got a shipped email about 5 days ago and was hoping to have them sometime this week. Any ideas or timelines??

Yeah Iv'e done autovantage, complete home and great fun. Not bad at all IMO they just try to offer you extended trial and ask why you are canceling. Pretty standard for these offers. Takes less than 5 mins to cancel. Had to MCR two of them and complete home went through on it's own.

Still a hassle compared to Pacific Webworks. You must've gotten employees who didn't follow the script if they didn't insist on keeping your account active, since all three said that to me.

Glad to hear GTAIV is coming.

same thing happened with my, completehome went through, mcr on greatfun and autovantage.

i did cancel greatfun, and its just like you explained they tried to offer me all kinds of crap
and i just kept saying i wasnt interested and they gave me a cancelation number
According to Alan, a TRAINN employee, the update is going to come within the next week to 10 days, and GTA 4 will be included with it.

Nice, thanks for the info. Other than GTA4, anything else good coming out before/during summer? I have enough for 2 games, one of which will be for GTA4. I'm debating if I should hold out for something, or give in and pick up burnout.

welp, I'm nearly done with this site. It's been awesome, got a ton of games, and I got a PS3 out of this whole thing... thanks to GHIII and amazon gift returns.. anyway.. waiting on one last credit through MCR and it will be my last I think.. for now =) Got a PS3 to mess around with now, ROCK ON!

I'd say yes, but at this point, I don't even know whether it matters. I'm about to file my taxes with no record of the $1200+ in games I earned through Trainn in 2007. My 1040 plainly states that any company you earn more than $600 from is legally REQUIRED to send you a 1099. Hopefully it doesn't affect anything, but if it does, it should be on Trainn. What am I supposed to do?

no, orders placed during a certain year count toward that year. Orders placed on Dec. 31 2007, but ship a week later and arrive Jan. 10th will count toward 2007 taxes.

Really? The only way I can see that making sense is if it's on the basis that the "work" you did for Trainn for that order took place in 2007. Otherwise, there's no "transaction" taking place until the following year considering they wouldn't place the order until January, and they surely wouldn't get paid by the advertiser for sometime afterward. Interesting.
I'm glad your opinion has so many supporting facts...
I forgot I have to write an essay to express an opinion.

Go pick a fight somewhere else.

i'm done with trainn til their service is on par with the new site. got a bunch of MCRs to take care of first though.

Re-read the logistics of my post.

Sorry, I didn't realize it was so much work for you to back up your claims. There's a difference between expressing an opinion and shooting off your mouth. All I was saying is that based on a slew of recent connecting events, Trainn's service has gone into the toilet.

What happened to the "We have been backed up. However, all future correspondence will return to normal"? That's been their motto for over 3 months now. I think this IS the new normal. But as you said. Yeah, I'm sure everything is fine.

My Mass Effect, which "Shipped" March 1st, still hasn't arrived.

Email and Support Ticket sent. Still waiting on another MCR too.

See, this is what I'm talking about. There shouldn't be a gray area with this stuff. I can understand sending out maybe a weekends worth of "shipped" emails with the intention of getting to them in the next few days. But 2 weeks later, something is either shipped...or it's not. Amazon doesn't have a reputation for improperly shipping packages. So what gives?

I'm not even trying to bash Trainn. yourfree360games.com is one of the most amazing things I've discovered over the past year. You'd just have to be an idiot to deny that there's something going on. It almost makes me think that GH3 ruined them. That game was like a system overload, and nothing's been right ever since.

Got this from Zooba.......

WTF :(

About the Zooba situation, I would try emailing them again requesting to cancel your account. It just seems that some people have no trouble cancelling by email and others do. Maybe it just depends on the person who responds to your email. I myself was able to cancel and never had to purchase any additonal books, even though it stated so somewhere in the sign up.

Wow... that sucks. I used a PayPal VCC on Zooba, didn't pick a book, stayed in for about a week and a half, then emailed on Friday 3/14 to request a cancellation. They said it was cancelled. Over the weekend, I emailed again and asked if it was possible to get a refund, because I hadn't ordered anything. This morning, I had $9.95 back in my PayPal account.

You must've gotten the one crappy customer service rep. Try emailing them again.
Is there any way to get a refund on them? What happens if after the first month, I haven't purchased any books yet?
Don't listen to these clowns. If you want your account cancelled, you're going to have to call. They haven't cancelled via email in months. If you're one of those little kids who is afraid to talk on the phone, then enjoy your three books.

I havent placed an order in a while (well I have for RSV2 but it hasnt shipped yet) so I havent felt this crunch that people are going on about, but Trainn is definitely weird.

My first two orders I got shipped emails a week before I actually received the items via overnight mail. My last two orders were preorders I received the day after release.

They are almost bipolar it seems and follow no set timeline for shipping, but definitely feel they need to stop sending shipped emails when things havent shipped. I'd much rather see "Shipping soon" then see "Shipped" for 2 weeks.

I wonder wtf is going on though. I imagine I'll be receiving a shipped email any day now for RSV2, but Im not going to be expecting it for a while.

I cancelled through e-mail 2 weeks ago with no problems nor am I a "little kid who is afraid to talk on the phone".

Sounds like you need to go outside and get rid of your anger issues over the internet.

I just said I cancelled via email four days ago. Successfully. With a refund.

I didn't call, because people have said that the phone CSRs have been the ones to demand a 3-book purchase before a cancellation, and refuse to cancel or refund money. So far, janglypangly is one of the few who has been unlucky with an email cancellation.

Some of us are actually trying to help.

Yeah, sorry, I caught that like 5 seconds after I posted, haha. But trust me dude. If you've been reading the thread at all over the past few months, you're the exception, and not the rule. Several others had problems through email, to the point where they just gave up and ordered 3 books.

The only "sure" way to get it cancelled is by calling. I guess he could keep pestering them with emails, but I just don't see the point when it could most-likely be handled with a quick two minute phone call.

Holy crap! They responded to my support ticket! Ok, get this. "Tax documents were sent out on January 30th in accordance with I.R.S. regulations." Um...has ANYBODY gotten theirs? This is what I've tried to figure out a million times over, but nobody has answered me. I know I'm not the only person who had to submit a W9 last year.
Rig? lilboo? Anybody???

They said they'll resend me a copy right away, but this "right away" better be in "IRS speed" and not "Trainn speed".

Anyone know how late you can cancel your order? Like, my GHII is in "Shipping soon" -- could I cancel now and get my credits back?

I have a support ticket out to the megafreebies people to see if their GHII is the bundle, and if so, then I'll just get it from there and get a second GHIII bundle from Trainn, but was wondering what other people's experience was with canceling from FY360G...

I tried cancelling Zooba via e-mail and got turned down, but cancelled over the phone no problem.

Basically it looks like just who you happen to get ahold of to do it for you, so everyone's right. Yay.

I never received one either.

Guess I will send them a ticket and probably get the same response.

I never received anything from them. All I did was fax them the paper they needed, and that was that. I had not received anything in the mail from trainn/IRS about it. :whistle2:k

Yeah, see...dammit, you guys wanna tell me I'm crazy, but WTF?? lol. I know I've been a little obsessive about this tax thing, but the last thing I want is to freakin get audited because of some free 360 games. I don't know how the hell Trainn can say they sent out 1099 forms, but none of us have gotten them.

And of course they're going to claim that they paid out that much money, because otherwise, it'll look like they just made a killing in profit. If we don't claim that we received it, it's going to look like somebody lied. When it turns out it was us, we get screwed. That's why I'm not taking any chances. They've got less than a month to straighten this shit out.
