Frequency...no music on first track?

I just picked up Frequency at the GS/EB B2G1 sale. I just fired it up today to make sure it was working, and I noticed that the very first track in the game, by The Crystal Method, doesn't seem to have any audio, just the jewels scrolling by. I can't get any of the song to start playing.

I know that one of the points of the game is to get various tracks of the song to play by hitting the jewels, but there should always be at least some part of the song playing, right? The 2nd and 3rd tracks I tried had at least some part of the song always playing.

I'm playing this on a new PS2 slim BTW.
 
Call up the store and ask if they have any other copies. If they don't, have them call up other stores until they find one for you. Don't give up til you get a replacement. Take no substitutions!!!
