Friendly's going under......come get your ice cream while you can.

I actually like Friendly's, although I can understand what people are saying when they talk about the bad service and dirty restaurants. Of the three in this city, they are only closing up the worst one that I don't go to, so no loss.

I don't even understand how a chain of restaurants can be dirty with bad service, but you can say the same about the one near where I live as well. I ate there as of recent with my girlfriend, and the woman got our order completely wrong. She gave us our food plus the extra meal, just because they were going to throw it away. It wasn't really that good, but we were hungry. I didn't like the fact that you could see the dish-washing station from the bathroom door...

On the plus side, the ice cream is pretty good. :(

I haven't been to a Friendly's in years. Until they added the $9.99 deal for a meal with a soda and sundae, it always seemed overpriced for the quality of the food and I agree with the bad service. The worst was when there a 20 minute wait when half the restaurant was empty.

I never realized there were so many Friendly's around. It is sad to see it start closing up though since they have always been lurking around Mass and New England as long as I remember.

It is funny because I went to a Friendly's about a year ago and I honestly thought the service was great. I don't remember why, but it was good enough that I left about a 35% tip. Overall though, Friendly's aren't just memorable. I find them overall below a 99 and hovering around the level of Applebees.

I only go to a Friendly's maybe every other year, and most times when I stay up the Lakes Region in New Hampshire.

Even now, I just thought I should hit up a Friendly's sometime soon because of this, but then immediately like nahhhh.

well this sucks, i never got a chance to try out Friendly's but from what i'm reading i guess it's not such a bad loss

Ever since I was a kid I have loved their breakfasts. Maybe they wouldn't be going under if they had breakfast all day. Their lunch/dinner options are not nearly as good, except for the whole sundae part.

Just had breakfast there this morning though, and they overcooked the French toast. :(

I never found the restaurant that bad to be honest and would say it's one of my favorites. Their food is just not good quality though and it's all junk food.

I decided to give them another chance with the new $5 menu. The service was better than usual and the cheeseburger was probably around 8 oz, with a decent amount of fries. They had the option for another $5 to add a soda and sundae. I'm going to be going more often as long as they have the $5 menu but I guess that won't be around too long.
