I just bought an XBOX 360 Live 12 Month card for $39.99 (+$3.30 tax) without getting a game with it. The price tag on top of the cards just show $39.99 without conditions of buying something with it.

I was planning to get the XBOX Live chatpad bundle for $64 (with 12 month subscription card and 400 MS points) but they were out of it. The thing is, I was only getting this cause I was expecting the 12 month cards are around $50.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were $35 for 2 considering that Frys had the Captain America and Thor 3D Blus for $16 each last week.

$24.99 before the discount. So $34.98 for 2 of these titles.

I would not be surprised if the discount extended to other Disney Blu3D titles, but those other titles will probably be priced higher then $24.99.

Was anybody able to purchase 12 months of Xbox Live for $39.99? I talked to a sales person and asked if we needed to purchase a game to get the discount and she said it was most likely an inventory error in that the card rings up for $39.99 regardless, but they're obligated to sell it for that price if that's what the registers says.

Unfortunately, they had trouble activating it at the register and I was in a bit of a rush so I just had them void the purchase.

The 12 Month XBox Live Gold card IS $39.99 by itself this week.

I don't know how to write that out any clearer without using up a lot of real estate.

The $20 discount is applied on TOP of that price. So, if you bought BOTH Forza 4 and the 12 Month Card, it would be $59.95 for BOTH ($39.96 + $39.99 = $79.95 - $20 discount = $59.95). Gears of War 3 seems to be listed at $59.96, so it's not as great of a deal.

Oh good. I thought it was just a mix-up in that the $39.99 for Xbox Live required a game purchase and that was the reason why they were having trouble activating the card. Since they were having so much trouble and actually had a manager/supervisor on the phone with Microsoft(?) I thought they were just eventually going to find out that a game purchase was required.

I'll try heading back and picking up another card.
