I wish they were big like Best Buy. They would easily be the worst retailer of the year in-terms of videogame deals.
 
Fry's was on a good roll for me personally at the start of the year, but I haven't bought anything from them in a couple of months.

Thanks, fido. Fry's has been awful for a long time now, but this might be a new low. Two years ago it would have been strange for 3 weeks to pass where I didn't stop in at Fry's. Fast forward to now and my visit last week was my first in about 4 months, with a couple of months between that and the previous visit. Frankly they've been a big zero in gaming for a while now, but at least up until recently I was able to build my Blu-Ray collection with their budget specials. Now, I pretty much have all of the old stuff that I need, and Fry's is nothing special usually on new releases.

Fry's just doesn't "do" anything with gaming anymore... way long ago they used to knock $10 off of new releases, and be way ahead of the pack when it came to reducing prices on older games. I still like the idea of Fry's, it's a bit different than some of the other big boxes, with a little bit of this and that. But there's zero reason to be in there these days for me.
 
Fry's near my place reduced the gaming section to about 1/2 previous size, maybe less. I think they may be deemphasizing it entirely.
 
Fry's Electronics was awesome until this happened. Before that, you could get airlink networking products for next to nothing, cpu/motherboard combos especially ecs boards for cheaper than the lowest internet price of the cpu alone, and many other deals. Now it is just a shadow of it's former self. I went from stopping in every Friday to stopping in maybe once every couple months. I'm not sure how they are doing as a company, but even when I do go in, it doesn't seem to have nearly the traffic it did a couple years ago.
