None of these are my auctions, BTW.

There are quite a few auctions for Monopoly pieces and Best Buy bucks on eBay. Seems you'd actually make a bit of a profit if you did a bunch of those mail away requests for pieces when the game started up. (Even more if you live in Vermont.)

Anyway, my favorite is this one:

Dude is going to e-mail the winner the section of the official rules detailing how to mail-in for pieces. :D

Here's some other interesting ones:

$10 for Park Place (the non rare grand prize piece)

$26.24 for a filled board with just the rare piece of each color missing (i.e. you get every single worthless game piece!!!)

. Mail In. Game Pieces and Best Buy Chance Pieces may be obtained without a McDonald's purchase by mailing, postage prepaid, a self-addressed, stamped envelope ("SASE"), with your name, address, city, state and zip code legibly hand-printed in blue ink to: Monopoly Best Chance Game 2.0 at McDonald's, Game Piece Request, P.O. Box 1497, Young America, MN 55594-1497. Return postage may be omitted on requests that are mailed to a return address located in Vermont. DO NOT SEND POTENTIAL WINNING GAME STAMPS OR ANY OTHER GAME MATERIALS, COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS TO THIS ADDRESS. Participants may submit as many requests as they desire, but only one request (SASE) per outer envelope mailed separately will be fulfilled. Requests that are sent in business reply envelopes will NOT be honored. Photocopied or mechanically reproduced requests will not be honored.

Where it say "postage prepaid" , does that mean I have to send them a stamp and have to stamp the envelope for them to send me a game piece? Or do I have to put just one stamp on the envelope?

wow, ebay is out of control. Omster, yes, you have to include an envelope with a stamp on it for them to send the piece to you.

No, I don't mean that, I mean do I also have to send them a stamp IN the envelope for them to put on the envelope that they send me back? Because it says both postage prepaid and stamped envelope. It says both of them, so I just got a little confused.

I dont see why someone buying Park Place for $10 is a bad deal, you dont know, the guy who bought it could have boardwalk and doesnt want to spend anymore money at Mcidies trying to get it. Just an idea

hmm... 68 cents for at least $1 at best buy, 32% off. Not bad if there really is no limit. (1000 requests = $680 = $1000 in Best Buy bucks) Kinduva pain in the ass to send in a lot of requests though. Might be worth it to somebody, but I don't have the time!

Yeah, the pain is in the fact that you have to hand address both the address you are sending it to and the SASE envelope you enclose. That is a lot of writing for $0.26 net return on each BB buck.

(Stamps are $.37 these days ratdaddy, not $.34)

And omster. You just have to send them a SASE (an envelope with your address and a stamp on it) You don't have to send them an additional stamp on top of that.

Man, who is too lazy to go to McDonald's and either

a)Ask people in the restaurant if anyone has Park Place and is willing to give it up.

Or

b) Just buy the cheapest stuff that has pieces on it until you get a Park Place. I mean we are talking about $1 mill here.

Well since 75% of the people that eat at Mcidies are lazy, I couldnt see why they would do that, when it is so much easier. Also, like I said who would waste their time and money on a bunch of food they shouldnt be eating anyways just to take the chance on getting park place, when they could just order it off of ebay.

:D I hear ya on the crappy food. I went to Mickey D's just after the promo started and got one of the Chicken Select meals. (Chicken Select and large fries are the only things with BB bucks.) Things were not good, IMO. I very rarely go to McD's myself. (Though I do get fast food junk probably once a week.)

i wouldn't buy any of those, u just need the codes this year with the online board.... so that means anyone who doesn't want any can post them on the site. i went the other day and got a large fries, got a free large sandwhich instant win piece $1 best buy buck and Penn. Railroad.

It's crazy how people are paying so much for the non rare pieces. Park Place is probably one of the most common ones because they want you to think you only need 1 more piece to win 1 million dollars. I think a few years ago I had 4 or 5 Park Places by the end of the promotion.

Here's a park place, starting bid of $100, Buy It Now for $10,000

Even worse, someone paid $49.99 for Oriental Ave (and if that's not bad enough, they require $5.20 just for insruance on shipping!)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19272&item=5527416714&rd=1

I saw that one when I made my post. I assumed Oriental must be the rare one for some lesser prize. Is that not the case? Some bidders are too dumb to be believed. Why can't they ever find my auctions :D

Ha, that is a pretty funny auction. Touts that you pay only the actual shipping charge, but then like Yoshi points out requires $5.20 for insurance.

Oriental Avenue is one of the light blue pieces for the Xbox.
Since I have 2 Oriental Avenues, I think it's safe to say that's not the rare one.

"I'm auctioning off an Oriental Avenue game piece for the McDonald's Monopoly game. Along with the other light blue pieces, this will get you an xbox console from McDonald's/BestBuy." -From auction description

Haha, they thought the decription meant
"I'm auctioning off an Oriental Avenue game piece for the mcdonald's monopoly game along with the other light blue pieces.

Damn, I bet that's what it was, too. Nice use of punctuation. That seller is an evil genius  I'm going to put up this auction:

I'm selling an official Monopoly game board. Along with every piece this will get you every single prize in the contest. Including $1,000,000, an Xbox, a cruise, etc etc!!!!!

Hmmm, I should sell my board....I think I have about 8 pieces on it....and for $5 or whatever some fool will pay....I would gladly EBAY it ;)

I guess the way it is worded is confusing. They think they are getting all 3 and a new Xbox but they are only getting a losing game piece.

Oh and I e-mailed the guy a question who was selling info on how to get as many Monopoly game pieces as you want, just for fun to see if he would be honest or not. (I asked him if there were any fees involved.)

He replied that there are no fees, but postage charges do apply. So at least he's an honest seller of free informatin :D
