Futureshop (In-Store)

Hello everyone! I've read this forum for ages and ages, but after finding this deal I just *had* to create an account and post!

As every Futureshop does from time to time, two of my local FS's have a table in the first few feet of the store when you walk in the front door loaded with price-slashed goods.

They always have things like open box demo models to customer returns, but this week I found *new* video games for $2.97! Two FS's in British Columbia had the following:

Perfect Dark Zero
Kengo: Legend of the 9
F.E.A.R. Files
Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2

There was one other title, but it eludes me at the moment guys!

There was plenty of them, at least a dozen of each. For 3 bucks, why not, eh? I will update it this afternoon after I'm there and keep you posted!

edit: I forgot the locations >< I found these in Abbotsford and Chilliwack, BC. I've phoned a friend and confirmed that the Coquitlam location and two of the same titles as well. I suspect they're liquidating particularly old stock from their warehouses.

Yes, they are Xbox 360. I don't work at Futureshop, I just spend a lot of time in them buying things for the company I work for.

I saw them in Chilliwack and Abbotsford, and confirmed with a friend that they had them in Coquitlam as well.

The fourth title was Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2

The clearance stuff is veryYMMV, some FS stores just get rid of junk to save space, as long as it's justified (and they hold a .95 or .97 clearance code) they can set whatever price to blow them out.

Unless this was a permanent price drop head office mandated to rid of non-moving SKUs. Either way thanks for the heads up :D.

its YMMV they're .97s

however their regular prices are now.
Fearfiles is 10$ or less nationwide.
DDR U2, kengo, virtua fighter 5 online and PD are 15$
dark sector ps3 is 14.97
castlevania drac x chronicles PSP is 9.97
Lost (ps3) 9.97
sega tennis (wii only) 14.97

a bunch of ds games hit clearance too but can't remember which off top of head.

PROTIP: If a game thats .97 hasn't been marked down people can usually knock them down pretty easily.

Great game for that price, pretty challenging too.
Lost (ps3) 9.97
I'm tempted because I'm a Lost fan (this is the last season), but I haven't heard much positive about this. Anyone know how long it is (hours wise)? Can any real Lost fans tell me if it is even worth it? It seems like a cash grab, but I could be wrong.

You'll get about 8 hours if you try to complete it and do everything possible. It's a decent game for lost fans, but for those that aren't - stay away. The story line is good and sticks to the show pretty close, but the actual gameplay isn't the greatest and can be a little repetitive (even within 8 hours). Hope this helps.

Clearance and FS usually means YMMV.

Found some cool titles for .97 cents I normally wouldn't buy.

Open 50 cent blood on the sand 360
NBA 07
Ncaa march madness 07
bomberman act zero
Nintendo DS stylus' (sword in the stone or something type)

The original game on Virtual Console got an ESRB rating recently, so it will come out for the Wii if not early this year, then soon.

Better to spend 10 bucks here for perfect emulation of Rondo of Blood rather than shoddy emulations of two (great) games and a lame 3d version.

If one hasn't grabbed it yet, I'd recommend they hold out, especially if they have a Wii. :p

Opinion has a little to do with it sure (tho calling it three games is pushing it since two of them are exactly the same except for graphics, which the newer one stinks).

However, from someone who owns the original copy of the game, owns DXC (twice even), and played Rondo of Blood emulated on many sources (including on the PSP), there's little point in getting DXC now unless you don't own a Wii. I mean, a fan made emulator (running in 333htz mode) runs better than the emulated version on the collection. Sure there's no sound, but the game runs much better which is more important. And not to mention the all around inferiour version of Symphony of the Night that, while it removed the long abused bugs by the speed running community loved, adds in NEW bugs that can really break the game, which are not loved as much. And even that doesn't run as well as SotN emulate on the PSP (but it's not as bad original Rondo on PSP).

Just my two cents. :p

I dunno man. I still have my original PC-Engine version from the mid-nineties, and I was VERY pleased with the 3D remake. Control is tight and it feels like a REAL Castlevania game. Still a propos, I highly recommend the recent WiiWare rebirth title.

You have to be Ubisoft level stupid to screw up a 3d remake in any way, and the usual Castlevania team that's been doing the games since the latter half of the 90s aren't that incapable.

This is more telling of how great the original game is, rather than the ability of the developers, imo.

These titles are available online too limited stock as well.
They are additional titles like Monster Madness (X36), Madden 07 (PS3) and Lost (PS3). Scout through the list to see the clearance items.

New stuff added.

Parappa PSP 9.97 or less
MTV UMDs 3.97 or less
Loco Roco 2 18.97 or less
singstar ps3 44.97 or less
lair 19.97 or less
hot shots golf (ps3) 9.97 or less

I think thats all. again instore only YMMV.

Thanks for the link on Hot Shots. Placed an order for store pickup at a location that was showing inventory. Cool if they've got it, no biggie if they don't, though.

What I hate is the recent change Future Shop/Best Buy's sites went through. Years ago (2 1/2, I think), I moved and changed ISPs. For some stupid reason their system let me change my email address, but it wouldn't let me change my sign-in from the old, useless address I had.

So for the past couple years I've been using my old address. Their new system, has changed that (which is great). The problem is, when they switched everything over my contact email reverted to my old address. Thankfully I discovered it with an unimportant order (attempting to get a cheap bag for my laptop -- screw you RFD hoarders... even the ones whose dozen bags were "all for family and friends") :)

FIgured the same issuewould probably apply to Future Shop's site (it did). Surely they might have anticipated the problem, given that when I called or emailed to inquire about the old problem of not being able to change logins, they were clearly aware of the issue.

Man this stock checker on Future Shop is ridiculous. It says HSG is in-stock at my local FS, but when I want to complete the order and do an ISPU, it says that location is OOS. This new layout blows.

edit: alrighty, finally filled an ISPU at my local store, here's hoping it gets filled.

Wowie, I was there tonight and mutiple copies were marked down but 5.99. Oh well.

Oh and Catlevania Dracula X is also 5.99! Got a copy already though.
