Slow sales month, so they are trying a new tactic to get people in the door. Very poor title to start off a great promo with.

Rango, Thor, Blood Drive, Sniper Ghost Warrior, would have been better choices. There's tons of $9.97 clearance titles they could have used instead of this title.

No wonder. They are garbage games that are like 5-6 years old. I mean codemned... really?!?! I'm a CAG but I wouldn't add that game to my library for free. What does FS expect?

Too bad you're too stuck up play good, old games. Condemned is awesome.
 
My backlog includes Condemned 2. I might as well pick up the first one to complete the series. It will give me a reason to dwell into them too :D. Will also take the opportunity to pick up some MS points for the Batman dlcs sale next week.
 
I'm surprised at the price too. The second Condemned game (bloodshot) was decent. I'm not sure about the first game though...
 
Condemned 1 is awesome, buy it if you actually want to play it! Don't buy it just to place it in a backlog. Game is GREAT.
 
I remember when I used to see condemned 2 for 5 bucks at EB all the time. I kept not bothering to buy it because I figured "it'll just be another game in the backlog". Now that I want to play it, I never see it. :(

Dude, I'm 31 and I've been gaming since '86 so I know the classics. Why spend $5 on a used game, when you can get the same game for the same price brand spankin' new.

Codemned isn't good and it isn't old, but whatever boats your float. :applause: Hopefully next weeks game is better.
 
A bit off topic, but you guys were right. Condemned is an awesome game. I finished it in less than a week, and even went it for a second playthrough. I'm definitely going to dust off Condemned 2 from my backlog and give it a try.

Darn. Thought it was the Wii version. Does anyone know if Shiren the Wanderer is as good on DS?
 
Shiren is a port of the first game released for the super famicom.
I enjoyed it. It's one of the best rogue-like.
 
For a good while now FS has seemed to have a pile of new copies of Shiren kicking around with used game stickers. So YMMV, you might get a new copy for a meager $5 investment.

ohhhhhhhhh .. that's a nice price ! but i don't like buying used UNLESS i necessarily have too ( like a game like Valkyria Chronicles cause my Disc Center had a crack and the head from the machine let the crack grow into the information and broke the game entirely ) but i will have too pass on this .. I'll wait till it's cheaper

Picked up U3. It's only the right thing to do for me. I pre-ordered from FS for $40, traded it back for $50, now I'm rebuying for $20. I think the online pass is intact on my copy.

No, but you can buy a "Season Pass" that covers a bunch of DLC. It is usually 2400 MS Points, but it has dropped to 1800 in the past:

Or you could just wait for the inevitable GOTY edition. It will probably show up a few months after the last piece of DLC ... and be cheaper than buying it used + season pass on sale.
 
That's why I asked if Gears 3 had any. On the other hand, the used copy of U3 I picked up last week seems to have its online pass intact.

Eh. LA Noire was one of the few games I paid full price for in the last year or so, as I picked it up on release. Granted I got a $20 FS credit, so it's kind of like a discount, but still. I don't have any regrets. It definitely isn't the best game in the world, but they tried something different and I'm always on board for supporting devs when they're willing to do that.

It was slow during the investigations, but I particularly enjoyed the police chases, especially the on foot ones. I found those to be exhilirating and exciting. But still, not a perfect game by a long shot. I found the interview mechanics unintuitive and frustrating.

Actually the police chases were really awesome. Loved the camera work.

I actually think I went about playing the game wrong. Instead of playing a desk and then taking a break, I tried powering through the game. Probably ended up burning myself out on it.

I know I played it wrong, only because I got hooked on exploiting a fault in the game, it's way to easy to quit to the main menu and reload interrogations when you get a question wrong.

That being said, I did realy enjoy it overall. This is a great deal for one of the more unique story telling experiences on consoles last year.
