Just the title said, FYE is starting to accept preorders for Nintendo Wii. It is guaranteed for first 12 according to the manager and I'm number 1. Wooohoo.

thanks for the tip, i guess i'm goign to preorder mine next week then =)

by the way, are they getting the first shipment? i mean, FYE is not a major gaming store, so i'm just wondering if they are still going to get the system at launch

Tag. FYE should get a shipment in for launch. They aren't as big as Best Buy, so don't expect them to get that many.

I hope they aren't going to force a bundle like they did for the PSP and I think 360. I pre-ordered my DS from them and got it on launch but what sucked is they had the systems but no games!

I still refuse to pre-order stuff (unless there's a really sweet bonus for doing so)... I don't want Nintendo to know how bad I need their video-smack!

Was there any mention of price involved or is this just one of those 'pre-list for the official list' kind of things? I'm pretty sure I want a Wii at launch.

I preordered a Wii from them earlier today they informed me that it would only be avaliable in a bundle and if that was ok.

I was fine with that because I was the 1st one to preorder and for some reason I think Wii systems are going to fly off the shelves :whistle2:\"

I called in today and the guy who answered told me he didnt know about this.

He said he'd talk to the manager and that I should call tomorrow.
Hopefully they'll take the preorder.

What's wrong with a bundle? As if you aren't going to want to buy at least two games anyway.

I don't think I'll preorder at my FYE--primarily because the manager seems to have really hated how I bought two PSP's (would've been three if not for the bundle) all with credit. I've run my FYE credit dry long ago, so it's not like I'll save any cash through paying that way.

Personally, I'd rather sit in line with other Wii-ners and have a big DS party, whether the store does a midnight launch or not.

I'm waiting for Toys R Us to preorder or something, or for EB to allow me to preorder, sans bundle. If not, I'll hope Circuit City does like they did with the PSP and X360 and "preorder" a day or so in advance, cause i really don't want to be standing in line at best buy or target (though I will if I have to)

If stores let you make your own bundle it would be cool, but they usually make really stupid set bundles like "the sports bundle" or the "adventure bundle". To get any kind of game variety you usually have to go with the uber bundle that has like half the launch titles.

The only 360 launch game I still have in Condemned, which I don't believe was ever offered anywhere in any kind of bundle at launch.

Admittedly, the only system I preordered from FYE was the PSP. And they had a selection of maybe five games you could choose to get with the system. (Only one game required.) I don't know if they required any more items with other systems. I'm going to take a guess that the EB trade-3-for-a-1st-party-game deal really killed the idea of paying full price for bundled games.

Just called the FYE near my house and they are indeed doing pre-orders, with one person currently on the list.

Edit: Just went to my FYE and put my $50 for the 1st spot in the reservation list. Wii! They expect it to cost around $250 and will bill me the difference when I pick it up.

How are they even sure they are getting 12 per store? There has been no price announced, no release date, I'm going to assume no distrubution numbers...

I'm just going to wait for EB / GS / TRU or someone a bit more reputable when it comes to system launches.

I Jumped at FYE's preorder like all of you but one phone call and talk to the manager had me convinced that they wouldn't be getting any Wii shipments for a month or two later than the release date. Being a hardcore gamer there is no way in hell that I'm putting fifty dollars down to wait two extra months for the Wii. I don't know about you guys but I'll take my chances with other more reliable stores or camping out at the local Best Buy or Gamestop

I preordered at my FYE today. I'm #3. Figured I had nothing to lose, the deposit is fully refundable, if I find it elsewhere first, I'll get it there and get my money back from FYE.

Probably going to do an FYE/TRU/EB tripe preorder and see who gets me one first, in addition to hitting up WalMart at midnight on the 18th/19th.

Just a heads up, this is an older thread, so the post you're replying to is from May. :)
