I work at Gamecrazy, we need to push the cards hard like every other store. I get bitched at by some fellow employees however because they do pull tricks sometimes like..
*Rings in game. Game has been marked down $15 or so but not marked.
"If you buy MVP today you will save $15 on this game today!"
Myself I can't bring myself to doing so. What if the customer declines that offer? Do I mark up the price? Do I look like a fool and be like take the discount anyway!
The MVP is a great value if you enjoy shopping at Gamecrazy, you purchase plenty of games during the year, and good as well because we offer disc buffing service which is a deal right there. (You get 5 free disc buffs with the membership).
I'm not the best at selling them, I sell a decent ammount. But I don't resort to cheap tatics and make myself look stupid. But I read some of these other stories about peoples bad expierences at Gamecrazy and it makes me sad. But some of my co-workers are to blame for certain problems at my store. I'm very knowledgable about games and I do my best to help the customers. But even that goes so far.
Yesterday on shift I had a kid come in with PS2-Worms, a $20 game that he said kept freezing and didn't work. I noticed he purchased it new. Our store is a smaller store than most and our policy is once the new game is opened it goes right to the manufacter's warrenty. I told them this and the kid and his mother weren't happy. He also then said it was a blue disc and thats why it doesn't work, I told him that was his PS2 then and the game was fine. I then told him he could trade it in and recieve $6.60. He did so. The mother very upset then asks if I could test it on my PS2 there, I put the game in it works great. The kid then changes his story to "the game slows down and it takes forever to move the cursor, and the camera keeps moving. It doesn't do that in any of my other games!" I then told him if thats what he told me earlier that is a part of the game and its the developers who made the game like that. The boy then says maybe its my controller and his mother asks for the game back. At this point the game is traded in and I cannot void a completed transaction for a trade in. The boy then proclaims "This is bullshit! Your a

ing fag!" Then they left the store with him crying.
I did the right thing and that situation and this is the only downside to the job. You'll get 2 customers in a row that are awesome and you shoot the shit about gaming, then you get one person to come in like that and ruin your night.
