Game Recommendation, please

I need help finding a new game to play. I've been a gamer for years but so far most of my gaming is done back-seat driving my husband playing RPG's (yes, he's a saint to put up with it)...

I recently played "Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time" and loved it. I tried playing "Mario" for the DS but didn't like it as much - my reflexes are not as quick as they should be so it was more frustrating than fun.

My all time favorite game is "Puzzle Quest." I played it non-stop for over a month (granted I was on bedrest with my pregnancy at the time...).

I'm also currently playing "Gauntlet" on the PS2 with my husband but I'm looking for a fun game to play on my DS.

I love Tetris and all the games along those lines but I'm looking for an easy RPG or something along those lines, possibly. I have graduated past Tetris but not far :) Ideally I would love a game that has some variation of a story (I'm not asking for much of one, really) but something I can play for 10-15 minutes and put if down (due to the aforementioned baby).

Can anyone give me some good recommendations?

Thanks!

M&L is pretty reliant on your reflexes, for the timed button pressed. I'd think you should be fine with New Super Mario Bros., if that's what you were referring to when you said Mario game.

You could try Hotel Dusk, it's an adventure game but it's damn hard to find. Or Dragon Quest Rocket Slime, it's a cheap, fun, and easy RPG/adventure game.

If you don't mind looking for it, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance should work well. The battles usually take 10 or so minutes unless they are very big but there is like one or two. Plus you can save any time. And it's very fun I've put over 100 hours into it.

if you enjoy games that make you think and has a good story, professor layton and the curious village is just up your alley, and you can pick up and play for any amount of time :)

I enjoyed the crap out of Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton.

I've watched my husband play most of the other FF games on the consoles and my only fear with that is that I really don't get into the leveling up and stuff like that. I'm still a button masher at heart... :)

I will look into these games. Thanks!

Clubhouse Games is fun.

Cooking Mama is also a cute game that's pretty fun, and also pretty cheap.

These match your pick up and play request, but obviously don't have a story.

Rune Factory =
Very good, addicting game. RPG + Harvest Moon = Win

Animal Crossing is also a good time.
Planet Puzzle League and Picross DS are good times as well.

If you enjoyed Phoenix Wright, Hotel Dusk would seem like a really good fit. I enjoyed both a lot, Hotel Dusk a little more.

Zelda and Rune Factory are both good choices, Zelda isn't that tough and is fun, though it can be frustrating if you get stuck.

I'd definitely recommend Planet Puzzle League. I just got a DS and bought PPL with it, and I'm having an absolute blast so far. It's not too difficult, but it's just a lot of fun to play.

I agree with a lot of the suggestions already made, and would like to throw in the GBA game Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. There are one or two tough bosses, but it's not very hard overall, plus it's fun as well.

Thanks so much! I can't wait for the kid to get up from his nap so I can hit up the game store...

I LOVE Picross (I was actually already addicted to those puzzles before that game came out - if anyone's interested: www.conceptispuzzles.com is a weekly treasure trove of number puzzles).

I'm looking into all of these games. I'll let you know which I end up with first.

Thanks again! Please let me know if you think of any more easy *button masher* RPG type games.

I love most HM games, hated A Wonderful Life but I just couldn't get into Rune Factory. I played it for a few hours, beat the boss in the second cave and sold the game online.

I found the dungeon crawling to add too much stress to the game. Time and status management are the basis of HM games, but when you put them in a situation where you also have to worry about fighting enemies and it's too much.

ummm... just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I want to play lame crappy games... I've been playing video games for the last 20 years - I just haven't dipped into the DS games nor have I branched into the RPG genre much. Don't totally discount my ability to play and enjoy quality games.

Brain Age sounds like a perfect fit for you. You'll be addicted to it every day until you unlock everything. Also the sudoku mode in that game is A+.

It may be pricey but maybe you should try playing Final Fantasy with your husband. I heard it's really good in miultiplayer. I also suggest the DS Castlevania games. There's a suspend mode that lets play the game in small chunks and the RPG elements prevent it from ever being to hard.

hmmm... my husband has the Castlevania games but I never thought about playing them. I'll give that a try. Thanks!

I went out and bought Rune Factory today. I started it during earlier but didn't get very far before I had to stop. I'm really excited about it.

Thanks!

I've been playing Harvest Moon: Rune Factory. I am really enjoying it - though I think I'm missing a lot of the basic understanding since I didn't play any of the previous versions. I made it past the first cave and I'm totally hooked!

Thanks for all the great recommendations!
