CAGiversary!
My mom and I got my Dad a DS last christmas with Brain Age and Sudoku. And apparently he likes it because he wants more stuff for it. He wants a Mario game and something else which my mom didn't remember. I don't typically keep up with DS games so I have no idea which Mario game to get and what other games he might like. Suggestions?

Here is a master list of my recommendations for your dad in no particular order:

-New Super Mario Bros. (similar to the original, classic side-scrolling platformer)
-MarioKart DS (a fun "racing" game, good for all ages)
-CrossworDS (crossword puzzles with excellent touch controlls)
-The New York Times Crosswords (more challenging than CrossworDS)
-Peggle (a pachinko-like puzzle game)
-Bookworm (a boggle-like word puzzle game)
-Professor Layton & The Curious Village (adventure game with puzzles)
-Professor Layton & The Diabolical Box (sequel to The Curious Village)
-Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (point-and-click, novel-like mystery)
-Tetris DS (if you can find it...beware of bootleg ebay copies)
-ClubHouse Games (card and parlor games, darts, ect.)
-Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir

Now obviously there are many more games I could recommend but here is a nice list that depending on your father's gaming habits, should keep him busy for a while. Most of these games should be easy to find, except maybe Tetris DS. Hope this helps!

Thank you! I will check some of those out. CrossworDS and Bookworm sound like possibilities and I'll read up on Prof. Layton and Hotel Dusk.

I also agree with Nohbdy that the Ace Attorney games would also be good choices. There are four (a fifth due out in January 2010) of them, three of which are in a "trilogy" series. It might be hard to find the early ones in stores though....

The order of their releases:

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney-Justice for All
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney-Trials and Tribulations

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney

Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth (Jan 2010)

I also recommend Zook Keeper, my mom loves the game.

I wouldn't recommend Hotel Dusk; great game, but some of the puzzles are pretty damn tricky.
