I recently picked up a copy of the Gamestop catalog for February 4- Feb. 24 (available in-store; it has Samus on the cover), and I noticed that they have the Game Boy Advance e-Reader Bundle for $39.99. The bundle includes a GBA system and an e-Reader (and the cards that come with the e-Reader). It's like buying an e-Reader and getting a GBA for free. This is a great deal for anyone looking for a cheap GBA for Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. My local Wal-Mart even price-matched the bundle for me when I brought the Gamestop ad in. Here's a couple scans of the ad page with the deal (it's at the bottom of the image)
...and I tried to pricematcht the Nyko Wireless Net Extender at Best Buy, but they wouldn't do it.
Word on the streets s the Nyko wireless net extender is only SLIGHTLY more useful that trying to make your own net extender out of De Monte green bean cans and Rainbow Brite" shoe laces.

Hot damn! It worked!

Well since the catalogue date is passed, I guess we can offially call this deal DEAD, but I'm glad I got to cash in while it lasted.

And boy, did I get lucky... this just goes to show that persistence and luck go a long way with getting the best cheap ass deals.

Stop 1, yesterday: Gamestop near my house. No bundles in stock
Stop 2, yesterday: other Gamestop down the road. 1 Bundle in stock, but the cashier was smart enough to check with a manager and point out that they don't honor price mistakes
Stop 3, today: Gamestop next town over. No bundles in stock
Stop 4, today: Best Buy. No bundles in stock
Stop 5, today: Circuit City. No bundles in stock.
Stop 6, today: Circuit City down the road. I see a bunch of bundles and pick two up. I get a somewhat bubbly female cashier who seems to enjoy chatting and fraternizing with the customers. She sees the gamestop ad, looks closely to make sure it's the same product, then charges me $80 for both bundles without batting an eye.

It's all about patience, people! Patience and luck. If you get a cashier who won't give you any love, pay no mind. Move on, try someone else, and thank God for CheapAssGamer. I love this site.

Hey Bustauppa, any interest in selling a reader...or is anyone else who has one interested in selling?

I got excited for this deal and bought a bunch of e-reader cards, but then best buy wouldnt price match so Im sol.

So if anyone wants to sell their e-reader or buy any cards, pm me.

Just an update:
I was able to get two more bundles for $39 each and took them to two seperate Targets and got one more Lime GBA SP and Platinum GBA SP. Then I went to Best Buy and got them to price match the Nyco's 2 for $19 each. Took the Nyko's to Gamestop and got store credit for $180, which I will be using to pick up my Steel Battalion Controller Bundle later this week. $59.98 for a $199 Game and Controller. This rocks!

Heh, wish I had VelvetHammer's luck... I tried to get store credit at a bunch of stores and was DENIED almost every time. KayBee almost took it, but then they did that phone thing and told me I couldn't return it because it was purchased at a Circuit City. Target told me that I could only get store credit for an item if it scanned for under $10 (?!). I finally ended up going back to the EXACT same Circuit City I had bought the bundle at. They gave me some static at first but eventually they gave me store credit for the GBA and E-reader... they stuck me with a slight restocking fee, though. But when all was said and done, they took the items and I paid like $5 and change extra to get one of those dual-tone GBA SPs.

So I wasn't as lucky as VelvetHammer, but I won't complain. To all you people who've had good luck at Target, what area are you from? Maybe they're just hardons about exchanges in Long Island stores. Heh, before I was kicking myself for not buying THREE bundles, but after all this hassle I'm glad I only bought two. Still trying to decide if I'll keep the other GBA around or sell it on Ebay. But all in all this has been a great deal for me.
