thanks for looking, and here is the situation.

I own a GBA and my brother owns a GBA SP. However we are both playing GBC game that has features that allow us to exchange data (sort of like pokemon or harvest moon crops..etc). My question is.. is there any link cable that will work for this situation?

What I need is a link cable that allow me to link up between a GBA and GBASP yet we can transfer data with the GBC game we are playing.

hope its not too confused, but if anyone know any link that will help our problem, I'd really appreciate it. thanks.

Yeah GBA and GBA SP use the same type of link cable, use that one and you should be all set. i've sucessfully used my gameboy camera/printer with my SP and it worked fine, and the link ports don't even match completely.

Now if that dosen't answer your problem than this should

Just get a standard GBA link cable and it will work.

I don't believe a standard GBA link will work since you are playing a GBC game. I think Nyko or Pelican or some other third party company makes a cable that has a switch on it. It switches between GBC and GBA (dunno the technical background but GBC and GBA transfers differently). That should work for you for GBC or GBA games.

I have one myself but dunno where it went, heh

I do hvae a pelican one that does it, but I think it so you can link a gbc to gbc, or gba to gba

edit - There is a chance that you could be right, so i'm probally gonna change my suggestion to the pelican one.. i'll try to find a link

I think you are thinking of the cable that allows you to connect the GBA to another GBA or to the Gamecube.

If I'm not mistaken, you could just use a standard GBC link cable for that. The GBC cable works in the GBA and SP as long as the game is a GBC game.

Yes, the gbc one also works... I probally should have added that like walrus did, but anyways... If you have a standard GBA or GBC one your set :p

-Edit
The GBC one looks like it dosen't fit correctly, but no worries it still works. Again, like Walrus said above, ONLY for GBC games, NOT GBA

thanks for the great advice. but I dont think I will go for a GBC link cable, since it will not be compatible for future GBA link up games. I guess from what you guys said so far, it is better to use a that cable maxflight is talking about..

if you find the link for me, it will be great, thanks.

If you want a GBC cable, they're usually cheap at game stores. I know that the GameStop near my house sells the (used) cables for under $5 and almost always has them in stock. I imagine that most EBs would be the same.
