Halo Wars - $44.99 new/?? used (Still $49.99 used in the system, hasn't dropped yet).

Gears of War 2 - $44.99 new/$34.99 used

Halo Wars may still ring up at $59.99 today, but after today, it should scan at $44.99.

That thread also says for standalone Hollywood Video stores. It's not on sale at GameCrazy.
 
Shouldn't Gears 2 be heading towards the $29.99 pricepoint soon? Like any day now?

I just started playing "strategy" games and I'm hooked.
The games i played and like are.
- Valkyria Chronicles on PS3 ---
- Civilization Revolution on Xbox360--
- Lock's Quest on DS

will I like Halo Wars?

I'm tempted for Halo Wars, but will probably pass. Thanks for the heads up, Scorch. I don't see many GC deals posted here and always want more since there's one closer to my house than GS any other store.

It's nothing like any of those games really. Halo Wars is a Real Time Strategy game, it's more like StarCraft and Age of Empires type of game. If you like those kinda games you should like Halo Wars (thats how it is for me at least)

do you know how long it took for gears 1 to reach that price point?

2 years I say gears 2 wont be 29.99 until gears 3 comes out
 
Just a quick update.

GameCrazy has the Gears of War 2 going for $34.99 used and $31.49 used with MVP. The used copy I picked up even had the Flashback Map Pack. Not too shabby.

joe: Not trying to sound like an arse, but the best way to find out if you'll like it is to try the demo. Halo Wars actually has a demo that is indicative of the real game. I liked HW (though I'm also a StarCraft fan), but I'm not sure that I can recommend buying this on a lark. The single player is really short so the value comes from replay and multiplayer. You might get full enjoyment out of a rental.

But, if you're connected to XBL, try the demo.

Well thats 1 month for Halo Wars, but I don't think you'd wait 6 months to get a game $25 cheaper.
