Gamecrazy mvp card

Its $20 but you get a free EGM subscription with it so at least your getting a quality magazine as well. As far as discounts, its 10% off used, an extra 10% for tradein, and special prices on their MVP days, which I believe is Tues-Fri. I could be wrong about those days though.

i had a MVP card for a year and used it once
no promotions for members or anything
it was a big waste of 25$ or whatever it costed me a year ago
no free mags back then

if i were u i wouldnt waste my money on it
go get an edge card maybe
unless those will be worthless since GS bought them

We'll I decided to get it and they hooked me up with three 25% percent off coupons and the egm subscription(I have it extended for two years :)). The person also hooked me up with alot of promotional items (disk and displays). Not overally bad for $20 :).

Depends on how nice the people are that work there. They used to have MVP Bonus Days, but they axed that. They USED to have .99 disc buffing for MVP members, but they axed that, they USED to have free system cleaning for MVP members, but they axed that. So basically you're paying $20 just for the 10% trade in/off used and magazine. Pretty much a ripoff. And I work there.

I like EB's card for $5 a lot better. If we'd drop the price to $10 or even $15, I could understand, but $20 is a bit much. You'd have to trade in/ spend $200 before you even started to save money from the card. Most people aren't gonna do that in a year, and most gamers won't find $200 worth of used stuff at gamecrazy that's worth buying.. The truth is most of our stores' inventory sucks..

But if you get a really nice store they'll give you plenty of free stuff and cool stuff if you're an mvp, and it might be worth it..

Yeah the other thing is that if you get a really strict managed store, they won't even let you use your MVP in combination with ANYTHING else. Copuons, Deals, Pricematching, NOTHING can be a double dip at gamecrazy..

Well they hooked me up with three 25% off coupons and I saved $11 off two games already with combining with the mvp card, I used the free buffing of games already (2 games), and they hooked me up with the cool conkers w/tank display. I guess the people are cool and I have been talking to the manager of the store and he might hook me up with the cool halo (master cheif standing on rocks) display in the store for $150 (its the same one that they auctioned off on ebay for alot of money). :)

It's a shame they axed the MVP Bonus Days, I got some good deals from that.

If I hadn't got the card for free, I wouldn't even own one. Despite the EGM subscription, there aren't enough perks to make it worth the price.

if your gamecrazy did all that for you then its definitely worth it
my GC needed me to have a MVP card just to have them hold a game for me
i probably bought 1 game from them in a whole year, might go back there for ToS though someday

As said above, I also got mine in a trade deal for free (after you pay for the MVP card in credit, it adds 10% and thus evens out).. I shop there a lot for used games and trade-in deals, so it's already benefitted me so far, I saved three or four bucks off F1 2001 on XBox..

At all the GameCrazys I've been to they still have the .99 (instead of 1.99) disc resurfacing. And also there were still mvp deals at one GameCrazy I was at. So I guess all that stuff is YMMV.

Actually this is a fairly recent development. The disc buffing for all stores is now 1.99, they even removed the .99 option from our computers.

Also mvp bonus days are gone, the replacement is a lame "value games section" that contains all our
I thought they have the option of getting 1 year of OPM? That would be deal
Yeah, you have the option of either EGM or OPM with the membership.

As for the MVP card, there's also the MVP exclusive tournaments that they hold almost every saturday for various games which you'd most likely get something for showing up(last time I went, they were giving out Mega Man pens and keychains to anyone participating).

its really not that bad for those of you who buy newer titles. for instance a used jade empire will be like 4 bucks less. and the tournaments. my location has a whole backroom with promo goodies that my manager refuses to get rid of. even vinyls that we cant put up. like the mgs3 snake eater one which was like 10 feet tall. anytime we get anything cool we put it aside for our tournaments. when nintendo, microsoft, sony reps visit we haggle em for all there goodies. as someone mentioned above, that conkers plush is AWESOME! we having a raffle for it so ur lucky to get it free. so i guess it depends on the location. my manager is 22 so hes a young guy not some old dude who thinks nothing is free.

I purchased a subscription, and soon came to regret it. They rarely have any trade-in deals, their prices are ridiculous, and they never have anything in stock. This could be endemic of the store by me though.

It sucks though, it seems like right after I got the MVP card, I started finding all these deals at the GameStop next door. Its like a deadly cycle, I go into GameCrazy to check out whats new, get disgusted and leave.
