These prices should NOT be YMMV as the POS SHOULD reflect the changes nation wide.

Thanks so much for the info! I was only interested in playing DDR Extreme, which I finally found. I might look into other games but I was happy once I found what I wanted.

I went to one GameCrazy store to pickup a Time Crisis and they were out but they called the Cathedral City CA store to see if they had one. They did and the employee said they would hold it for me. I went to pick it up and the employee said that they had one but it was defective. I asked what was wrong with it, and he paused and then said oh we don't have one. It shows up on our computer but I looked for it and we don't have any, and then went back to his work. I'm thinking he or someone else probably bought the game so I'm a little angry about this.

this happen alot during the first 3 for 15 deal

It's just better to go to the store without calling since it'll bring up attention to the employees who haven't updated their prices yet.

I hate when that happens. If the deal is worth it, I'd rather take a chance that it not be there and use some time than rather have an employee get it b/c I alerted them to the goods.

Game Crazy is one of the worst stores about this. You should call the DM. They seem to have a lot of low life assholes working there.

But what can the DM do without concrete proof? It'll just be his word vs. the employees. And if the employees already opened the game, then GoAztecs is SOL. :whistle2:?

Well, if they buy the game for themselves, a record of the sale will have to exist, it wouldn't be that hard. Unless they're sneaky and have a friend buy it and nix their discount. Even then, if they sell it after you were there (or after you called and they said they would hold it), they either miraculously "found it" or were hiding it.

Point taken. But I don't believe many mangers would take the time to look @ the security tapes to verify when GoAztecs was at the counter and then look @ the sales records to determine when employee bought the game.

No one is being ripped off per se. The only unfortunate consequence is a customer doesn't get the game he rightfully had on hold. A crime, indeed, but one that doesn't affect GC's balance sheets. Well, at least not in the near term. In the long term they may lose customer loyalty (if such a thing exists anymore).

Today was a rather interesting venture out to a couple of Gamecrazys.

First stop, I ended up with 4 Time Crisis: Crisis Zone's for 17.99 a piece. Wheeee...some CAG'ers will be rather happy when these end up on my FS/FT list.

Second stop was the more fucked up of the two. I basically got scammed into buying the MVP card without my knowledge. I found Grandia Xtreme used (and tagged) for 29.99 and 26.99 w/ the MVP card. Seems it rung up 12.99 in the system, and the employee told me he'd give me the MVP card for free and basically lied to my face about the discount.

I didn't even think of checking the invoice till I was halfway home, by which time I was beyond furious. I sent a "pleasant" email to their corporate office, and forwarded that to the BBB as well.

Oh well, all in all, not too bad of a day, short of that 20.00 hit I took.

I picked up Ys, which was really the only thing I had to have. It was already open, but the seal was intact. The guy said someone wanted to try it. I saw few other things, but I don't have the money to buy more.

Marten, did you drive back? I would have turned around and gotten my money back.

Nah, I was afraid of what I was going to do to the guy. I could go in tomorrow and deal with him, but from what I was told at another location, i doubt it would do any good anyways.

Picked up Taiko and Donkey Konga 2 for ~$41 w/tax. I was hoping for Karaoke Revolution as well, but they were out. :whistle2:( Thanks OP. I can't wait to try these out.
Stella Deus is Latin for "Star of God."
I found a couple copies of Stella Deus at GC... but the GC employee surprisngly kept persuading me not to buy it due to the fustrating battle system... I told him but it's only $20... then he responded, is that 20 in or out of your pocket?

It was kind of funny since most GC employees keep trying to ram stuff to buy down our throats.

In the end, I passed since I figured I have too many games already and it would just collect dust on my shelf... plus, I need to save for a new digital camera... but I did find a copy of Phoeix Wright which I obviously DID NOT pass on.

Terrible mistake. Stella Deus is easily the best strategy RPG I've played since Final Fantasy Tactics. Whoever was telling you the battle system is "frustrating" is a moron that hasn't played the game - the system and control are very easy to learn and fluid. Perhaps they remember someone relating the game to Hoshigami, which indeed had one of the worst systems ever.

Dave

I hope to get Psychonauts and King of Fighters 2002/2003 for the Xbox.

For what it's worth, I bought a ton of stuff at one GC and KOF 02/03 was the *only* thing that rang up full price. Apparently that one never got updated in the computer or something...

I picked up Wild Arms 3, Phantom Brave and Stella Deus, but got kind of annoyed when the guy working at the counter openly told me that he took their last copies of the reduced Shin Megami games. Just tell me that you're out of them, dude.

I wanted to get Magna Carta, Atelier Iris and Ys, but the first three were the combo that cost the least for my collection. Damn money.

Damn, I wanted to grab a copy of TC3...but the game crazy by my house apparently went out of business. Bah, that sucks...

If anyone wants to trade TC3 for a sealed DDS, let me know :p

Here's a good review on Stella Deus for those interested: http://rpgfan.com/reviews/stelladeus/index.html

Big points towards game play while there were deductions because of the graphics and soundtrack.

After reading it, I may want to track down a copy myself...

That's funny, but it sounds suspicious as probably after you left he/she probably bought them him/herself right after you left to stash for themselves. I could be wrong maybe they were just picky or hadn't played too many srpgs, but Stella Deus doesn't have a very frustrating battle system, it's just old-school kind of and not 'ground-breaking' or innovative to the genre, but if you've played strat-rpgs before, then it shouldn't be anything frustrating about it unless you're super super picky.

people in fort wayne can get the 14.99 games for 11.99 using the 20% off coupons from entertainment... if you got one of those Entertainment books you can print off 20% off coupons

picked up

shining tears and Stella deus Both used for 11.99 before tax (last copy of each)

Stopped by my local Gamecrazy. First thing I asked for was any of the Time Crisis games and before I could finish my sentence he said he didnt have any and that people were calling there all weekend about it. Didnt have anything else that looked good so I picked up a copy of Trapt for $20. Might have to go back for the Karaoke bundle for $17.

Found Crisis Zone at my GC today.
On the back, it says that you can only use a certain type of AV cables for the gun to work. Any truth to this?

My brother took the Time Crisis w/guncon receipt from Game Crazy to Circuit City and they price matches plus an additional 10% off. Most Circuit Cities around here have a ton of Time Crisis w/guncon still since they are asking like $55 for them.

It might work at Best Buy too, but if your Game Crazy is sold out and Best Buy bothers to call them, they won't price match as they only price match on in-stock items.

Anyway, if you can't find something locally, try to get some one to send you their receipt for a price match.

just came back from D grove, IL gamecrazy... got the last donkey konga 2 there. At first the guy coulnd't find it until I was about to walked out... it's inside display window near the corner. LOL. brand new & sealed.

Thank you OP.

Right before i went to mine they said they had time crisis 3 in stock and set it aside for me. I got there and then they said they have never carried the game. ARGH! If anyone has any guncon2's and a game for sale, PM me. Thanks.

shit, my GameCrazy had a gently used copy of Time Crisis 3 on display w/Guncon but apparently they lost the disc. Oh well, I scored a "used" Crisis Zone w/Guncon for $15. The game was actually sealed and the Guncon doesn't show any signs of use so I guess they just lost the box or something.

I think I'll go back and snag the used copy of Eyetoy Antigrav they have since I can probably sell the redundant Eyetoy for a couple of dollars. Anyone have any opinions on it?

I have an extra:

Stella Deus (new but open...last copy from store shelf)
SMT: Nocturne (new but open...last copy from store shelf)
Shining Tears (new but open...last copy)
Time Crisis 3 used
Time Crisis 4 used

Interested in the following (all must be complete):

SMT: Digital Devil Saga 1 or 2
Atelier Iris
Gallop Racer 2004
Shadow Hearts

PM me if interested in a trade.

On a completely unrelated sidenote: Took another trip out tonight...and scored DK2 w/ Bongos, Culdcept and Growlanser Generations.

This has to be an early front-runner for B&M sale of the year :D:applause:

btw can ANYONE tell me how to pronounce Suikoden??
SUE- KAO- DEN

I didn't know how to pronounce the game & didn't want to go back & ask the the clerk to check their computer & try to sell that MVP card thing again

I'm going to do it on the phone

stella deus $19.99
makai kingdom $19.99

incredible deal

here is the kicker, i was going to get dds 2 but it rang up for $40 so i said no thanks, the cashier left the dds 2 in the bag. i was driving home and went back to give him the dds 2 back, i am a cheapass but no crook.

no dds 1 or nocturne at the gamecrazy at 3939 crenshaw, i will hit the gamecrazy in compton tomorrow, hopefully with similar good results, this sale is even better for me than the tru sale(which was a very decent sale in its own right).

17.99 brand spanking new, sealed and all. Not the deluxe version (which I've seen floating around brand new at 64.99), but not bad at all.

Ahh, read "component" saw "composite." So easy to get those mixed up.

Thanks for the clarification.

I visited two stores today along with CAG Ma12kez. Found some decent titles. The workers at both stores mentioned "people with lists from cheap ass gamer!" had already been through.

It's good to see the Aero Drive store in San Diego was not hoarded by these people. This store had 4 Taikos, 2 Donkey Konga 2s when we got there.

I personally picked up:
King of Fighters 00/01 - Used 7.19 After MVP Discount
RPG Maker 2 - Used 7.19 After MVP Discount
Taiko Drum Master - 17.99 (This is my second copy, I figure it would be handy to have 2 drums for multiplayer)

After that we checked out the North Park store on El Cajon Blvd. This store had been pretty cleaned of new items with the exception of Trapt and Stella Deus. But it was used heaven for me!

Picked up:
Mario Party 5 - Used 13.49 After MVP Discount
Vampire Nights - Used Game Only 7.19 After MVP Discount
Disgaea - Used 16.19 After MVP Discount
Shining Tears - Used 13.49 After MVP Discount
Forever Kingdom - Used 7.19 After MVP Discount
N64 AC Adapter - Used 2.24 After MVP Discount (Picked up an N64 with no power at a garage sale in the summer, so I needed one of these)

Still alot of quality games out there people!

17.99 brand spanking new, sealed and all. Not the deluxe version (which I've seen floating around brand new at 64.99), but not bad at all.

I checked yesterday and the Deluxe is still $79.99 at GC. I guess they are still expecting them to suddenly fly off the shelves at that price!

Just a head's up: The GameCrazy in Pittsburg, Califonia still has a lot of stuff in stock (which was the only GameCrazy anyhere near me that had anything worthwhile in stock). I stopped by this evening and they had sold the last copies of Digital Devil Saga and Nocturne, but it looked like they had all the other RPGs.

Complete total bust for me - nothing that i wanted was in the store and those items that they had rang up no where near prices listed on the OP.
