Gamecube color release sequence

Just wondering if any of you know the answer to this?

In what sequence was the gamecube released in terms of color....platinum, black, blue, etc.

Thank you!

Black and Purple were the launch and then the platinum came out as a "limited edition". Not considered so limited now though as just about every single one i see is platinum.

Spice!

I would have so have bought that!

If youre talking about import GCNs, there are quite a few special editions. Tales of Symphonia had a "mana" colored one, there was one for a baseball game i beleive, and dont forget about the grey/chrome panasonic q.

Same here. I was looking foward to it and I held off buying a GC until is was gonna be released, but than I realize it never was. :( They even came out with the spice controllers!! Orange is nicer color than purple, it probably would have sold better.

Heres a few Japan only Gamecubes:
That Gundam one looks pretty nice.

Yeah! Orange would be awesome!
Speaking of colors, why hasn't it been released in more colors? Doesn't it seem odd that the PS2 is actually available (or was available, anyway) in more colors (in the US) than the GC?
I thought they only released the other colors of PS2 in Japan.
There were five special edition colors that were available on Sony's website - they were $300 though I think.

i thought the orange one looked like puke.....................like some drunk guy stumbled into toys r us a threw up on a line of GC's
Blue? You mean Indigo (Purple)?
Amazingly, I know someone who's a professional artist and works with every possible shade of color, and he swears that the purple GameCube is actually a shade of blue. He always has to clarify that purple is another color than the plastic of the GameCube. But to my layman eyes, blue plus red equals purple and that's what I'm sticking to. :p

that doesn't count, then

Why? It's just a normal Gamecube with the RE4 logo in the middle.. I don't like the RE4 logo, it says 4RE.. lame.

But yeah, if they released that here, for $99.99.. the demand would be insane.

for real, why they always holding back with the US? i got the halo xbox and have been waiting for a cool gamecube since before that

I really wish that Nintendo America would provide us with more nameplates. As far as I know, there have been no Stateside releases of any of the custom nameplates available (limitedly) in Japan and Europe.
