Gamecube component cable $4.99 used in-store, visibility of in-store at gamestop.com!
again if anyone finds one I'd be wiling to pay you cost + the shipping price. Within 100+ miles are the closest one's here too much gas to go that far!
Then shouldn't you be willing pay for someone elses gas, time and effort?

I went to check this out at a couple local stores. Four different sets labeled as component gamecube/n64 but they were the red, white and yellow cables. :(

I got lucky and found some about 15 miles away from my house. I searched all over the store and couldn't find them, so I finally asked the guy working. He had grabbed them and put them in the hold drawer, but decided he didn't want them and handed them to me. Score!

Thanks so much for making this thread, I never would have used their website locater otherwise.
the newer gamecube models don't have the component output
Yeah, it was spring of 2004 in which it was announced that they were cutting the port.
stupid question but is this cable for using progressive scan?
Yes, they're hard as hell to find though. Even tougher than the Microsoft component cables for the old Xbox.

I had a spare set of those for months and no one wanted them. I ended up turning them into Play N Trade because they were just taking up space.

I found one at a store near me only to discover they were Wii component cables

flipped them to another GameStop after I realized that

These can still be found at certain Gamestops if you are luck and persistent.

I just finally found one at a local Gamestop after wading through many other cables mislabeled as Gamecube Component Cables (it helps that Gamestops are virutally on every corner in my area. Their online inventory system helps, but you're bound to find many mislabeled ones.

$4.99 sure beats $50 on ebay!

Sorry to bump this, but I find this hilarious (in a depressing way..)

I figured I'd give it a search, and one came up within driving distance. So I call, and the clerk is like "I have 1, but the guy is standing in front of me to buy it. I'm ringing him up as I'm talking to you".

Damnit.

Closest locations are places where I don't feel like going or had bad experiences.

Oh well, can use the cheap $7 cables I bought & borrow my friend's Wii which has been sitting abandoned except for the occasional match of Brawl then move on with hours of 360.

Very possible. Though they could have just said it's mismarked, or sold.

Who knows.

Gotta love that "Hold Drawer" When I was young and stupid I traded in my copy of X-com for PS1 and saw them put it in the "hold drawer" when I saw what else was in that drawer and it made me cry.

The set I found, thanks to this thread and the locator, were marked with a price sticker indicating them to be a Gameboy Player so I got pretty lucky that noone paid attention.

most of these got packed in with a gc that got traded in w/o cables. thats why the inventory stock will say 1+ but they are no where to be found

Around my area they are labelled wrong. They say gamecube component cables and when you check the package out they are composite the red, white and yellow. Saw this on 4 different sets so far. :(
He probably wanted to flip. They sell for about $50+ on the Bay.
Nah, I'm just a collector. Figured I should try to get one before they REALLY become hard to find (and spike for even more on ebay).
Yup. Good money says he lied so he could buy them for himself.
That's exactly how gamestop rolls, if you call for some rare item, they will scoop it and ebay it. They did that w/ all the PSone FF7s discs, scooped and ebayed, then in my area they ran around telling everyone that FF7 was coming to PS3 "by christmas" and they were saying that 2 years ago

damn, I have gone to 6 gamestops in and around my area. The two that listed them having em one did not, and the other was a mislabeled GCN>GBA link cable :(:(:(
I have been on a quest for quite awhile to find these, as I don't have a wii nor do I plan to pick one up anytime.

If anyone has found any of these and is not going to flip them on ebay. I'd be willing to pay good money for em, I am just trying to avoid paying 60+ dollars on a cable. But that may be my only option soon.....

Yeah almost makes one want to file a class action lawsuit. Those are clearly unfair practices, GS would of course blame it on individual employees, but I've seen that type of shennanigans at GS for years, I just stopped shopping there.

Its the only thing you can really do, vote w/ your dollar. GS is a rape and pillage pawn shop.
