What's the best I'm liable to be able to find on a new Gamecube? My old one broke, I don't really want to mess with repairs and I hate the idea of paying almost-new prices for a used system.

I say your better off just waiting for a wii. Or sell what you can now to make some money and get a wii.

Wal-mart has plenty, but as above it would make more sense to buy a Wii. The Wii is fully BC with Gamecube games.

i'd check craigslist, i picked up a gamecube with 2 wavebirds for $30 from there and always see a bunch posted in the $40-$50 range

Depending on where you live local pawnshops sometimes have decent prices. I think for around $40 here you can get system, cables, and 2 controllers (sometimes wavebird's included).

CompUSA is clearancing GameCubes for $50-$60, depending on color. They're OoS online, but you might call a couple of your local stores, if you have any.

are prices for the GameCube console gonna drop further? i was thinking getting a used one at gamecrazy. unless there will be good drops on the new one, but my area sucks for selling it full price.
