Gamefly - Kameo: Elements of Power (X360): $36.99
i might just go return my copy back to eb.
If I was you I would, the only difference is they'll rip off the plastic and not you. Nobody will have played it yet, hell they just started sending rental copies out yesterday.

EDIT: It only shows "rent it" though no options to buy it just a price...

It would be silly to buy any games for full price before the system comes out. Something good could always come up, and even if it does go out of stock in a single store it won't be for long.

Maybe, but if you happened to reserve Kameo and you got the call to come and pick it up, it's not like you have much of a choice unless you want to deal with a cancelled preorder.

i really enjoy that gamefly posts all of gamespot's screens, so we have a bunch of n64 screens of kameo as the first thing that pops up on the game's page :)

Scorch is referring to the "keep it" price of 36.99. So if you rent it, you can keep it for that price. Good deal, but only if you're a Gamefly subscriber.

Of course, you could start a free trial, rent Kameo, keep it, and pay $36.99. Then it's up to you whether you want to keep the service or cancel before the free trial runs out.

There is no buy it option on the main game page for Kameo BUT I have it rented out and now I'm showing a Keep it price on my 360 search screen......

So the deal is alive and well to those who have it rented out at least, thanks Scorch. I'm gonna go ahead and buy it that way I can get another game sent out at launch. :) It's $39.22 after tax....

You don't have to be a subscriber to keep the game. You can buy games without subscribing, I do it every now and then.. but it seems they sold out of copies for sale and only have rental copies now or something.

You have to wait until they ship it to you. You cant keep it if you dont have it.

Yeah but when you rent it, don't they only send you the game disc and copied instructions?
im goin to sign up for the free trial and jump on this
I was going to do this for a diff. game, but it looks like they might charge for shipping the box/manual if you're not a real subscriber. Let me know how it works out.
I figure I will get Kameo when I break down and buy a 360. I'll likely pay about $15 for Kameo . . . say, 16 months from now.
My thoughts exactly. But that is a decent deal for a Xbox 360 game for now but if people don't buy any of the games at $60 they will be forced to drop the price.

People paid $75 for Street Fighter on the SNES and inflated prices for roleplaying games back in the day. The majority of people will follow and accept that it's just normal evolution, the games are getting better and more expensive to develop so the price goes up. We've been at the $50 price mark forever, i'm pretty sure even NES games were $50. Do you really think that 20 years later a price increase is not long overdue?

Well if people don't pay $60 or $50 for the games the system won't be very successful.

Well Indiana the system can't be successful if they don't come out with enough of them to keep up with demand. Thus you shouldn't pay the full price for a game that a select amount of people will be able to play those games.

I just now checked my Gamefly and checked it last night also, and it looks like they aren't selling any more Kameo's. They must have sold out of their initial supply and probably will raise it back up to 44.95 or somewhere around there when they get some more in.

I just got an email back from them - "Free shipping on purchases only applies to paid subscribers."
Does anyone know what they charge for shipping? I couldn't find it on their website.
