I'm sure everyone remembers the Nintendo cabinet you had back in the day (or your buddy who's parents would actually get him a NES did)

(Damn that was hard to find - http://www.progressiveboink.com/archive/nintendocat/2.htm)

Well, the only thing I've seen recently are those crappy plastic things that would hold one console and about 10 games. In the last month, I've seen two new (at least to me) wire pieces.

.

It's nice to see companies catering to us again, although I think you can do better by building something custom out of wood.

Those things look like they should be holding Quaker Oats in your pantry.
Don't forget all the gaming chairs that have came out in the last year or so.
Tis true. However, I've yet to find one that didn't involve me rolling out of it to stand up. A little higher people.

Gaming chairs are just as bad. Honestly, gaming stuff should just be considered a part of home theater furniture. Just because it's gaming doesn't mean that shitty stands made of wire and plastic and uncomfortable low-rider chairs should be considered acceptable.

Oh...so we can pay 4x the amount we should because it's in the HT section of the store? :D

It is damn comfortable stuff though.

Holy CRAP! I think I had one of those Nintendo cabinets! I'll check with the 'rents...

I just asked my dad. Without even thinking, he said "Yeah, it's downstairs." And there it is, collecting dust with a bunch of empty N64 boxes (I always wondered what happened to those). Sadly, it's been painted green and Mario is no longer there, but yes, I did have one.

Well, there was also one that was black and had the Nintendo logo, IIRC.

It'd kind of be cool to have about 10 of those with every system...

Have you seen the N64 game cover project thread in the Old School forum? We already have a ton of the boxes scanned, but if you have any not on this list it would be awesome if you could scan them! Same if you have any SNES boxes.

I keep my games in a cardboard box next to my tv (which is sitting on TWO cardboard boxes). None of these fancy 'cabinets' or 'stands' for me. And you people call yourselves cheapasses. Hell, who needs any kind of furniture when you can get cardboard boxes outta dumpsters for absolutely free. Just shred a few, pile it up, and throw a blanket over it and you got yourself a free bed. I can think of a million more uses just like that.

Damn, it's been a long time since I've done anything in wood. If only I had the time and the workshop again.

I don't think the wire thing is too bad, nice for ppl changing apts every few monthes(yeah most my stuff is still in boxes). But whats with those wheels? They planning on making a gaming trolley? I guess it would fit in well with the overly obese gamers market who are so totally immobile they need to tie a string on to the thing and roll it over to change cds.

I use a 6.5' tall wire rack that has 5 shelves total. I use to really like the "industrial" look of it, but I'd really like to get some nice furniture seeing as I have a decent home theatre set up. Hopefully if I can get a house in the next 6 or so months, I'll have enough room to decide on something permanent

Going from memory, the only N64 game I might have that you don't is Pilotwings 64, and I'm not sure if I even have the box still. I'll check tonight.
