Gamersgate has IRem Arcade Hits- 18 DRM free game collection- $2.00 (80% off)

Wow, some absolute classics. Thanks.
I know I am so tempted myself. It's great that they are DRM Free. I just wish Humble was selling it. Because if they should ever go on steam humble updates them with Keys. Either way 2.00 buck aint bad and it's DRM free..

PAGING FOXHACK, PAGING FOXHACK.

I can't find a straight answer -does this have online multiplayer?
No.

I actually wish it had been tied in with Steam. Oh well! Still got it. For $2, how could you not?
You poor, deluded fool.

This game has not been updated since 2010. DotEmu claimed they would fix the problems and add an extra game many years ago, then quietly killed all support for the title. Folks had to complain on their forums to get an official answer.

This will never be fixed, and it'll never be on Steam.

Don't waste your money.

I remember Foxhack from back in the LiveJournal days. He's STILL a putz.

I'm telling people to not waste their money on a bad port. I apologize if I came off as mean, but... really, this isn't worth wasting your money on in its current shape. Maybe if they fixed the bugs, it would, but it's been six years. it won't happen.

What is the problem with this?
Bad audio (very scratchy), strange scaling, odd controller behavior (I didn't have an Xbox 360 pad at the time, but the game really didn't like my older Logitech controller), graphic tearing, and noticeable emulation slowdown. Even very fast computers couldn't run the emulator at full speed, and people mentioned the CPU just wasn't being used. I haven't run the game in years, so I'm not sure if modern CPUs have fixed that problem, but a recent review at DotEmu's product page suggests otherwise.

Unlike their most recent SNK products (which I always had problems with until fairly recently), this one seemed to cause issues for lots of people across various types of hardware, so I really suggest not buying this.

I will take your word for it. I almost picked up Double Dragon collection last week but have always been supicious DotEmu. Thanks for the details. Gosh though it's cheap but I guess thats why

I've been warning people about bad performance in their stuff, but their most recent stuff has worked fine. All I did was clone my Steam drive to a new one. I'm not sure what caused the change, so Double Dragon Trilogy may work fine. I suggest you buy it during a sale on Steam, try it out, and if it works, keep it. If not, then just refund it.

What's wrong with Double Dragon Trilogy? It seems to be a mobile port but for $1.49, it's a great deal. I bought it on GOG and my friend has it on Steam and we were even able to play online together for some old-school arcade fun.

I bought the Irem pack yesterday and had fun with it. I haven't played the original games so I couldn't speak to any emulation issues, but $2 for 18 games is a dime per game. It'd be difficult not to get your money's worth even if you only played each game once.

I can confirm the sound issues.  It's been a while since I tried it, so I can't recall if that spilled over into gameplay problems for me specifically, but I think it did.

I once heard the games themselves were compatible with MAME, so I wonder if they might work better with that.  Haven't tried it myself.
