So ... uh how bout those Bethesda keys ... any day now ... right?
They really should give a date for that. I can't imagine Bethesda is out of keys so maybe they are still trying to get a deal cut or maybe figure out how many they need to order. I know Tony can sometimes get keys refilled within a day or two so something else must be going on.

Tony doesn't have a contract with Bethesda though, so who knows if they are fast like other publishers.

That is something very interesting to take into account. It's always been odd that Amazon can't get Bethesda digital. Maybe they are very selective about who sells their games/how/prices, etc.

If Amazon had a daily price glitch or two, I'm sure they could carry Bethesda. Also, they need to open a branch in Sweden if they haven't already.

The only thing close to an ETA is the original statement about sometime around mid January.

5 days to go until mid January, beyond that, it is not known how it is going to work, perhaps they intend to order small batches, perhaps Bethesda likes to keep a tight grip about the keys they sell, if we are lucky it's going to be all at once and we can leave this in the past sooner.

:whistle2:k

My guess is that they don't like how Amazon price matches other retailers.
My guess is that they don't like how Amazon price matches other retailers.
They usually have to consult with the publisher before they do price match which is why it's not instant, and the retailers they price match with would all be authorized Bethesda distributors anyway. Who knows why Bethesda's not on board?

My theory is that GamersGate plans to bore everyone with the 20% by putting up day after day of really dull sales until they stop checking. Then they can safely pull out the good sales.
Not to go off topic, but has anyone tried Age of Barbarian? It looks amazing! LOL
I saw it this morning too (a real WTF moment) and then spent 20 minutes watching cheezy trailers like this one:

lol... wow... age of barbarian looks pretty awesome... wonder if GG will ever carry it.

Edit:

Sunghost just told me they do have it and it has just been bought, even at full price!

Anyone know what the "other DRM" is for Age of Barbarian? I was thinking Tages or Act Control or some crap like that because the continent of Europe just loves those to death but the web page says "internet connection required to play the game".

The (p)review at Indie Retro news said this:

The game is out now for €9,90 available via the website

Also what's rather concerning there is no demo available and you need an internet connection to play, usually developers do this because of either piracy or the game isn't very good so they want you to buy it first. Worth a try I suppose!

p.s You can't turn the music off on the website, unless you've found a way because I didn't

They don't need to trick me into buying games that aren't very good. That's a selling point for me! :p

Is that the porn game that was banned from steam??

Internet connection required to play could mean for authentication only. But if it's required to actually play, that sucks, what's with indie devs these days anyway, apparently some suffer from delusions of grandeur and think they can pull a blizzard upon their unsuspecting customers.

EDIT
It's available from GG

I didn't even think of that, but I just checked and the DRM does suck.

To install it asks for the serial. Then every time you start the game it asks for the serial again. Once you enter it once, it remembers it, but it says it needs to check the serial with an internet connection every time you start. I tried starting the game in airplane mode, and it will not pass the start up key check with no internet connection. Looks like a beat it and quit it for me. Still the theme music and intro voice is pretty awesome.
Hmmmm. 20 days and counting......
Time to consider payment dispute time thresholds, bummer.
If you'd prefer not to wait for the keys you got for an insanely good deal and have nothing else to play, just ask GG for a refund rather than skirting around them. They'd love to just give you your money back.

(Also, are you "The emad" or "Thee mad"?)

@theemadgamer Just be sure to specify that you want your money back, not blue coins, or perhaps, you want blue coins.

May I ask, how many/which games did you manage to activate?

Sorry for not being clearer, of course, I would contact any vendor first before pursuing a charge back, to give them an opportunity to resolve the issue.

I'm Thee MAD (as in about games) Gamer :whistle2:$

I was able to reveal keys for Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate.

I really wanted Dishonered so I've been waiting patiently......

That's disappointing. I would be willing to pay $10 for a tragic train wreck but a tragic train wreck with crappy DRM I'm afraid is going to have to go into my $5 or less category.

Same here
I was able to reveal keys for Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate.

Alrite, I was able to reveal those + Oblivion, so my situation is this, Skyrim was +/- 25-30 usd on the other sites that had similar discounts, both GG and Bethesda have promised there won't be any revoking so my value for Skyrim is more or less covered.

There is no telling what would happen if I fill for a charge back now, I know nothing will happen to my steam account since I didn't purchase it from steam directly but chances are the keys will end up being revoked.

My point is, contact GG directly, as I said before, but right now with the amount of work GG states their support has, plus the speed they work at, maybe it's a very small team anyway, it might take very long for them to reply, so if your value lies with Dishonored only be 100% ready to fill for the chargeback as soon as you see what their reply contains, if not, maybe it's a good idea to just stand by.

Just a suggestion btw, only you can decide what's best for yourself.
No, that's this.
A card game?? :whistle2:s
Anyone else just get their ordered canceled?
No, not yet, but I just saw some comment on GG forums about receiving refunds for the Beth pack this morning.

fingers crossed.....

I didn't think GG had a forum, are you talking about this?

http://www.gamersgate.com/gametutor?issue=245182

I wonder if the guy is trolling, it's the first time I've heard anyone report a key (from the Bethesda pack) being revoked from Steam.
Anyone else just get their ordered canceled?
My Bethesda quasi-pack has disappeared again. I can't bitch since I wasn't paying for it anyway (chargebacked weeks ago) and my 20% Comp discount is intact.

I would have been the first to take the keys had they ever gone live on it though. To restate though: My "quasi-pack" (missing several games) was obviously put into my account in error. I assume some sort of housekeeping as they prepare to issue keys to the partials cleaned it out.

Edit: They also took back about 3,000 in Blue Coins from the Bethesda purchase reward :D

I was refunded in blue coins for the Bethesda bundle. I've been complaining since then without success. I guess I'll just wait for a price mistake ;)

Were you able to activate any keys??
A card game?? :whistle2:s
More or less. It's kind-of a hybrid card-adventure game whose ultimate goal is to convince the females at this upscale locale to disrobe and/or engage in carnal acts with each other. There was an article on Kotaku or IGN about games as porn that talked about the game and featured an interview with the one man-one woman team that put it together.

I used my BC bonus from the Bethesda pack to purchase Viking when it had a price mistake. They never took any BC back from me. I doubt they will, but I wouldn't really mind.

I replied to your Game Tutor post about 30 mins or so ago lol.
Were you able to activate any keys??
Not a single one. Bought it as a gift and gifted it to my own account. I've been refunded in blue coins but haven't received the 20% discount :/
"Fiddling as the city burns" has gotten stale. I say we rename it "GamersGate - The Thread of Woe"
I think that "Fiddling as the city burns" nicely captures the cluelessness that seems to pervade GamersGate's actions. Other suggestions: "GamersGate - From dumb to dumber", "GamersGate - Keys me you fool!", "GamersGate - We may be clueless but at least we have your money", etc.
I was looking at it as a description of this thread, however I will revise it to, "GamersGate - The Thread of Woe and Schadenfreude"
The "Fiddling as the city burns" is a quite fitting title. It paints a nice picuture of both sides of the situation.

Did you buy they pack with blue coins?

You didn't purchase blue coins, maybe it's time for that chargeback.

This actually fucking sucks, we are back to square one, I think that the guy arguing is just trolling to try and get a reaction out of GG. It seems they again went silent, I wonder what went wrong this time.

And I made the mistake of trusting these crooks again and inquired with support what will happen to the games I gifted to a secondary account.

Now they know where to look for them
He didn't, here's his GameTutor thread:

http://www.gamersgate.com/gametutor?issue=245081

and no.. I didn't stalk him to find it, I came across it unintentionally ;)
Lol, yeah I bought it through PayPal. I submitted a paypal claim but received a communication from Gamersgate telling me that they were going to honor my order. I canceled the claim (my mistake for trusting them) and in the next morning I got a refund in blue coins. Some say I should have asked for a charge back instead of a simple "refund" but it's clear that they're going to do what's best for them. I even posted my case on their facebook Page but it's been ignored. And to make it worse, no discount for me.
I was looking at it as a description of this thread, however I will revise it to, "GamersGate - The Thread of Woe and Schadenfreude"
Is there a Swedish version of Schadenfreude? :p

Still no keys here, no refund, no word from GG or Paypal as far as the two week dispute one week of which has been escalated goes. No blue coins or discount either. Looks like no one is in a hurry.

Oh FWIW, I got all the Stardock stuff right away, didn't get most of the Bethesda and only redeemed 1 Dishonored for myself with the other being tied up in unredeemed limbo. I already have Skyrim so both of those and most of the rest of the Beth stuff is too. I did managed to get Oblivion for some reason but those weren't really selling ($4 I think?) so I just gave them away.

I spent total about $80 on my order and made about $40 in what I sold. The Stardock suff isn't as easy to move as the Bethesda stuff and anyway I really wasn't trying to gouge people.

I guess if it came down to it I could consider having paid $40 for Dishonored but if I wanted to pay that much for it I would have pre-ordered from Best Buy and gotten the damned USB whale oil lamp. :p

I just hope this gets resolved at some point in some way.
