Do I save something by using the blue coins (in general)?
It will make absolutely sure that you don't pay a transaction fee on credit card or suffer through Paypal's piss-poor exchange rate, plus you can buy Blue Coins with a 5% discount using IAMANELDERGEEK

Plop the wanted game into the cart on the UK site, go to checkout, use IAMANELDERGEEK, and look at the total price in Blue Coins to see how many you need first. ^^

Some of the New Vegas DLC is quite good. I think you guys should wait for the Ultimate. You know you are going to want the DLC. Don't get yourselves in a position where you have to rebuy the game in the Ultimate pack when it goes on sale because that option is cheaper than buying all the DLC separately.

Thanks, but you can disable that.

Also, I can't get any proxy to work on gg...

Definitely. There's no reason to go for the lone version.
Definitely. There's no reason to go for the lone version.
Well, I mean, if you actually want to PLAY the game anytime soon, that seems to be a pretty good reason. Seems like Bethesda is for whatever reason getting stingy with discounting the Fallout games. Might not have a ton of opportunities to score it cheap.
Do I save something by using the blue coins (in general)?
Aside from the above, you can also use your blue coin rewards to top off your purchase. If a game is $6.50 and you have 500 bc's, you can buy $6 worth of blue coins (6000) for $5.70, add in your existing 500 coins and have the game for a whopping 80¢ cheaper than paying cash.

The down side is that any refunds will be in blue coins. This shouldn't matter much unless you're buying $25 Bethesda bundles ;)
These are not glitches anymore. They are setting some games at 88 and 95% for a very short amount of time, just to get publicity going.
Yeah, for a while now it's been obvious that something else is going on.

If that was the case, I'd think they'd move the roll-over time to something that's not the dead of night for their largest market. I understand they're in Europe but there has to be a better middle ground than 3am-5am in the States. How much "excitment" do you drum up when much of your customer base is in bed?

Be cautious in attributing malice to what can be explained by incompetence.

Obviously neither of us have their numbers, but if I had to guess from their catalog, I'd say that Europe is their largest market. They have a lot of games that have a much wider following in Europe than in America; the Bus/Truck/Farming Sims come to mind. It also makes sense for them to update early in the morning local time so that any bugs can be caught and fixed quickly (in theory) while there are people in the office.

Yeah, but we were working under the premise that these aren't "bugs" but rather intentional.

Doing the flip at 2am Central US time makes sense if you want to fix the bugs while a lot of people are snoozing. Doing the flip at 2am (and relatively early local time) makes a lot less sense if you're using it as an opportunity to make everyone say "OMG go to GamersGate for 38¢ Far Cry 3!!!"

Europe also has stronger pro-consumer laws and all. My "something else is up" covers incompetence.

All I am saying is, be malice or incompetence, it's not a normal way to handle a business.

Well it's after business hours on Friday in Sweden and you know their asses aren't working on weekends.

I guess next week turned into next next week.

They insist they are working

"Hi Partek, sorry about missing your posts right now we're also trying to not communicate anything incorrect and focussing on first getting the whole situation sorted out so we can let you know exactly what's happening."

Found on the FB feed.
https://www.facebook.com/GamersGate

I would translate that "situation sorted out so we can let you know" bit as we will let you know what's up when there is little or nothing you can do about it.

Makes sense if you're just trying to drum-up excitement and people visiting the website, while minimizing actually selling at that far-reduced rate that they had offered earlier that spread by word-of-mouth.

"Hmmm, it was 88%. But hey, 75% ain't so bad either." So, they got extra sales for their intended sale price.

Pretty much.

I would at least like to know what their intentions are, or even if there is any particular line that they just absolutely won't cross (ie getting the pubs to revoke already registered keys) but they are being CYA PR Bullshit asshats and refuse to say anything be double talk and linking you to that damned page which is also double talk.

I also think it would be nice to know what they are doing before they do it for once.
Thanks for the UK/Euro store tip. Needed to get rid of some blue coins just in case...
BTW if you divide the blue coins cost by 1,000 then you pretty much have the price in US $ since 1,000 BC = $1 US. It's easier than converting the currency if you are lazy. :p

I think, in this case, that staying relatively silent on their negotiations until there's a concrete solution is better for both them and us. Remember that their rather straightforward "We're getting keys for most of you in January" ended up being premature.

I'm afraid even a statement of their intentions would only leave open the possibility for mass rage if they can't follow through.

Looks like the IAMANELDERGEEK 5% off coupon has stopped working. Wonder if there's a new one or they just realized it applies to BlueCoins as well.

I get that to an extent but I guess the main thing most people want to know is whether or not they will revoke activated keys. I can't even imagine the shitstorm that would stir up but it's rather worrying that they won't take that extreme option off the table.

Yeah, they probably caught on to that it can apply twice, thus effectively a 10% off coupon.

I already own Gothic 2/3 from Amazon, but was considering GG's pack to get 1/4/DLCs, then I read this on Metacritic about 4:

Despite all the many, many problems the game has, Spellbound still programmed in the ability to stir soup. Soup your character can't actually use. They actually took development time out from dialogue, story, characters, quests, content, graphics, combat, and all the other essential RPG elements they screwed up to give your annoying shepherd an utterly pointless animation. That just blows my mind.

LOL, still think they are doing this stuff on purpose? LULZ!
In april the 1c bundle was on sale for 20$, was that a glitch? I want that bundle.
No, 1C is willing to sell a shit ton of their games damned cheap. They would let Tony sell every damned game they own for $15 if only Amazon could figure out a way to get distribute a large number of keys at once. Apparently this is exceedingly difficult for their IT to figure out or something.

Nice... then I'll wait, I own a lot of their games but there's still a lot that it's missing.

Both the G2PO and ElderGeek codes were promotions they had going with particular websites. I assume the ElderGeek code just expired versus being pulled for any reason. It no longer works on items either; I think it's just "done". I'm thankful it lasted through the winter sale season to save me a couple bucks, anyway.

Can't wait for the next glitch in what, 9 hours?

Maybe they're gonna add another code or something, in the end it was just a 5% discount.

I think today was the last day, or so mentioned the email I received. Maybe it's tomorrow??
Any hidden gems here on sale that I missed...?
Yeah, you missed a great sale on Bethesda games!
Yeah, you missed some great sales on Bethesda games!
LOL @ the pricing error incident.
I already owned most of those already.

Anything else for gems...?
Indies? Foreign? Lesser known titles?

Every time someone bumps this thread I keep thinking that they finally have a real update for us... and every time, I'm disappointed. :whistle2:(

You may, or may not, have missed the 3$ (or whatever the price was) alan wake collector's edition, but that was yesterday.

Whoops, I just did it again. ;)

I'm guessing whenever the Bethesda keys are up someone's just gonna make a separate thread with title, "THE KEYS ARE UP!!!" and everyone is gonna run over to GG like a bunch of soccer moms at a Macy's sale.

Already own AW + AN from GOG.

Hey, what's wrong with Macy's? That's where I like to shop. :)
Did they ever make a legitimate response to all the price mistakes? I'm pretty sure they said they would this week.
No. Just another vague "update".
