Hi everyone, is there any coupon/voucher/discount going on on GamersGate that I dont know about?

EDIT: Is Game of Thrones DLC from GamersGate Steam compatible?

At the end of March GMG had (after code)
Dirt 2 $3
Dirt 3 $6.80
Grid $4.08

Honestly if you have any interest in racers, and you don't own any of these yet, well I don't know what to say... other than buy now! These are very high quality racers with wide appeal (arcade to sim-cade, depending on your settings, and like 7 difficulty levels)

...goes back to planning which Hello Kitty stickers to put on her invisible Grid 2: Mono Edition vehicle...

I didn't care for Dirt 3. The physics of all the cars just felt... wrong. It's funny, because going back to Colin McRae 1 or 2 on the PSX (yep, PSOne) is like a breath of fresh air compared to these watered down racers where the car feels disconnected from the road. In Dirt 3 it feels like the road moves around the car, instead of the car moving around the road. It's hard to explain, but those who grew up loving the Colin McRae games (well, 1 and 2) know what I mean.

I've been waiting for a good rally game for all too long. *sad face*
Any caring soul can help me get Dirt 2?
i have an extra because i didn't know i have the game already. :cold:

I have Dirt 1, Dirt 2 and Grid. Don't care about Dirt 3... seen some videos and reviews and looks inferior to Dirt 2.

The tracks on Dirt 1 are GREAT, but the gameplay of Dirt 2 is amazing. It will be great if there is some way to port the tracks to Dirt 2 :)

I also loved CMR 1 & 2, great rally games!

What about Grid? Do you think it's worth getting if I already have Dirt 2? Still deciding if I should get it, with Grid 2 coming out.

fucking awesome. Get GRID 1. Similarly awesome as Dirt 2, imo.
Wow 9 posts after mine and keep getting ignored...
Only people who bought the Bethesda bundle awhile ago (and didn't get their keys for ages) got a 20% discount. That's the discount people talk about.

No idea about the DLC question. In general, Steam DLC is compatible with a Steam game, regardless of where things came from.

Thanks!
Thanks!
You can always just ask here to see if someone with the 20% off discount will buy the game you want for you. GamersGate has a gift system, so you can even do it with non-Steam games.

I don't have the discount, but a lot of regulars do.

Thanks++! I was going to ask if the discount was permanent. After losing my 15% IGN discount I never ever bought anything else there.

According to GamersGate, the discount is supposed to last till the end of the year. Who knows if that's really true though.

"The end of the year" doesn't always mean "The end of the year", guys.

Picked up GRID after waiting on a sale forever. Already picked up DIRT2 from a prior Steam daily deal iirc. Also have always had a fascination with FUEL and it finally appeared for the $2.50 sweet spot.

I think that completes my set of "must have" PC arcadey-racers - BLUR, GRID, DIRT2, Burnout Paradise and Flatout 2/UC. (Not including games like Driver SF and TDU in this classification.) Did I miss any? RRU maybe? :bouncy:

TDU2 for sure. Midnight Club 2 is another classic.

TDU2 is fantastic (and *huge*)
RRU is quite a blast (clearly inspired by Burnout & Split/Second)
NFS: Hot Pursuit (2010) is also very well done and arcade-y. (With Criterion's markings all over it.)

I really want to add Split/Second to that list (gameplay is really fantastic, and the destruction and racecourse altering gimmick is well woven into the gameplay), but the PC port suffers from bad save file corruption (even rolling back to an uncorrupted save, it still corrupts)...

Reaching back further I'd have to solidly recommend (I've never seen these on digital, have to resort to special plastic edition from Amazon/Ebay):
NFS: Underground 2
NFS: Most Wanted (2005)
There are some nice texture mods and ENB for them as well, available on nfscars.

Both are awesome games, but really different. I think it's like comparing Amalur and Dark Soul (dirt 2 being Amalur).

In some ways Dirt 2 is easier, I even found Dirt 1 to be more difficult. It's more arcade too. Grid is more "serious" in some ways. It's great, brilliant, but more difficult.

You should get it and see if you like it (I think you will, is hard not to), and wait for grid 2 to be on sale.
Grid is unfortunately very difficult to me.
Have you tried turning the difficulty down?

Also, racing games need a controller for a good experience. (I'm not sure, maybe you're KB/Ming it.)

After all that praise towards GRID I'm not sure if I still want to skip it and straight get GRID2. Decisions, decisions...

GRID is great, I'm really unsure why anyone would skip it and go straight to GRID 2, especially with the current price differential.

I have enough car games (and a new G27) to keep me busy until GRID 2 hits at least 50% off. (I'm generally loathe to pay more than $20-25 for a game.)

I've seen some gameplay videos of GRID and i'm still a bit in doubt about it. Why is GT6 not released yet?

BTW, anyone plays NFS The Run?

NFS TR is an odd one. You race coast to coast never repeating the same stretch of road. The car switching mechanic is sub par. It was locked to 30 fps but I understand they uncapped it in a later patch.

It's worth one play through but it really has little replay value. Also it is pretty.

I agree with the switching cars is not the best, but the good thing is that i barely switch. I'm playing through the challenger series now and trying out mp games to unlock the cars the bad part is that some cars are only available if you play in a group.

Overall i'm enjoying it and most of all i like it pretty now.

I think they did tact AutoLog onto NFS:TR for replay value, hoping people would replay the game to beat others' times.
My guess: the game's so linear, who'd wanna replay areas/sections of it?

Message support and they'll probably refund you (in blue coins, at least).

I *tried* to replay it. Iirc I got (almost?) to Chicago. I think if I'd waited longer to replay it I might have finished it a second time. My comments are replay value are from direct personal experience. In contrast GRID & Dirt 2 are great to pick up and replay a few races.

No posts in a week? Has GG really been that shitty?

No good glitches lately?
Well they had a good daily on RRU Complete, but CAG was down (I posted in BGCQ). SSZ weekly is probably worth mention, but unless I mention it when I see it, meh.

Also there haven't been any glitches in a couple weeks. A lot of the sales are repeats of stuff recently on sale. I tend to post about sales that I'm tempted by or that I otherwise think are notable.

Missed RRU sale, maybe it'll come back in a near future.

BTW what's BGCQ?

Brawny Gents and Coconut Queens. It's a private Steam group.

Neverwinter Nights Complete is on sale again for 8.98.

Has anyone tested it on Windows 7 64 bit?. Description says it doesn't run on 64 bits systems, so it would be really good to know for sure
If you're buying this, you should check out this link I stole from GOG.com's Facebook post: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9m6m0ia8COo. It's a total conversion for NWN2 of Baldur's Gate + TotSC. Pretty cool if you haven't snagged a copy of the Enhanced Edition recently.

Pretty bad deals.. even Hotline Miami is a deal but with Humble Bundle is just a better deal, unless you own the other bunch of games.

I tried it and it doesn't run like "out the box" but someone posted some fixes you can use to get it to run. Have not tried those fixes, but peoples on the internet reported success.
Cool, I'll do some research and give it a shot. I played NWN1 and really liked it as far as I got (computer broke, never fixed it afterwards)

That's actually one of the reasons I'm interested on the collection, but thanks for the expanded details!
