DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.

Well, that is more in line with the $29.99 new (and likely $24.99 used) price. The $19 quote was way out of line. But it is wierd that it would drop from yesterday to today. Sucks, because I managed to find one and only one at the bottom of the CC clearance bin today :whistle2:(. Now I have to decide if that is worth it. But that, Driver PL, and Combat Elite (which is listed as "Battleborne's..." on my receipts too) make 3 I haven't traded at this new BB yet.

To the person who got the $19 trade-in on it - did they really list it as NBA Street Vol 3 on your receipt? Wondering if they just entered the wrong game or something (if they did it manually).

I tried at another store today, this time one with a Gamerush, and did get only $12 for it there. Has anyone tried to trade it in at any non GR stores?

Looks like i was wrong about one thing...it was the xbox version, not PS2. Sorry about that!

Oh, and I did find another gem today at a stand alone Blockbuster (not Gamerush)...NEW Kingdom Hearts 2 for $20! I thought that maybe one of the employees goofed and put a $19.99 sticker on it thinking that it was part one, but when the clerk scanned the barcode(the actual game barcode mind you, not one of the blockbuster stickers) it came up $19.99! The receipt only shows "PS2 Kingdom Hearts" so maybe the game got entered wrong in their system, I don't know. Someone else will definitely have to check this but I'm pretty sure it's either a one of a kind thing or very YMMV.
Looks like i was wrong about one thing...it was the xbox version, not PS2. Sorry about that!
Ah, well, that makes a difference doesn't it. The thing is, my CC has a boatload of these and only had the one PS2 version. I can see from your receipt that this isn't a franchisee either so that explanation is out.

When you tried again today was that the Xbox or PS2 version?

Oh - and you should have taken those other 2 games to EB :D.

I just called 2 gamerushes for the trade in value for Xbox - NBA Street V3 and it was 1.25. After they gave me the trade in value, I asked them again to make sure it was vol 3 and in both cases they confirmed it to be 1.25

Now THAT is consistent with it being one of the clearance games. Brian - maybe you just hit a wacky glitch there for one day.

omg...i just sent a couple of those to sellgamesonline.com for like 8 dollars each

I tried an xbox version back before the 4th at a regular bb (had them scan a rental copy) and it was $1.25...so I say you got lucky

Not to be continuously cynical but you have to post a picture of the reciept with the date on it...
omg...i just sent a couple of those to sellgamesonline.com for like 8 dollars each
I only paid $2 for them, so I'm more than happy to take the $5-$6.

Some XBOX trade-in prices:
-MX VS ATV UNLEASHED - $7
-MVP BASEBALL 2005 - $1
-WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP POKER-$2.50
-CRASH NITRO KART-$4.50

$34.75 after the bonus on all :)

Picked up a transfer kit in anticipation of NCAA 07 next week

Today (Thurs):

PS2 Gretzky NHL 06 - $12
PS2 Driver PL - $16
Xbox Combat Elite - $16

and quoted $12 for Xbox DDR Ultramix 2, but since that wouldn't even be a double ($9 -> $17) I just returned it to CC, along with my last Matrix Path of Neo.

Edit - an aside: CC has some kind of wacky computers. In my haste this morning I grabbed a receipt for what I thought was a Matrix but it was really for a Marc Ecko. I returned the Matrix game using that receipt and the guy didn't flinch. Hell, I didn't even notice it until I looked through my receipts just now - it shows the return as Marc Ecko. I wonder if they don't scan the returned game and just select it off the receipt as that could make some sense. After all they start with the same letter :D. Very strange. Plus it was 2 weeks after the return period .
Has anyone been able to check the $20 Kingdom Hearts II glitch that I mentioned in my second post on this page?
It's still $49.99 in their system. I think you just got one tagged wrong.
Has anyone been able to check the $20 Kingdom Hearts II glitch that I mentioned in my second post on this page?
What I find most surprising is that a regular BB had KH II - it is almost like they received the game by mistake and probably should have gotten the first KH, thus the $19.99 tag. I've never seen a > $20 new game at a regular BB.

I went in to my local BB today and found a few clearance items and noticed that they received a few new games - GH God Of War, San Andreas (both PS2 and Xbox), and GT4, for example. So at least they do send new games to regular BB's on occasion, still.

We really need to get a complete list of the clearance titles and update the OP though. It is essential when going to a regular BB that otherwise has no indication of the sale whatsoever. I scanned several games I thought might work but couldn't find any new ones.

However, the following are not in the OP:

PS2
007 Agent Under Fire $3.75
Aggressive Inline $2.50
Midnight Club Street Racing $3.75
Polar Express $3.75
Project Eden: $2.50

Xbox
007 Nightfire $3.75
Brute Force $3.75
Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring: $5
Test Drive $3.75
Urbz: $5

Many of these are perfect for EB trade-in and can be found at regular BB's (where they will be overlooked by others with their full-price tags). In particular, I have seen the Bond titles, Test Drive, and Midnight Club at a few BB's. I'm sure there are others as well that I have missed. If anyone picked up clearance games at GR (which is how I found out about the titles above) but they aren't listed in the OP, please let us know. I am going to try to visit several regular BB's over the next week in a last ditch attempt to transfer some more of my GR credit to EB .

Good news Combat Elite, Flatout, Driver, and Nightmare before Christmas all held for another week. I trade in the 4 today for $95 credit. All were for the PS2. IO confirmed Combat Elite Xbox held as well. Only 1 I have not followed up on is Flatout for the Xbox...

Changing the subject a bit... I need to start thinking about SPENDING credit for once, instead of just accumulating it :D.

I'm sure they have Loco Roco for preorder - has anyone placed one yet? Just want to be sure it is $39.99 (or less) to match EB/GS.

Also, has anyone seen Mario DDR restocked at their GR? I could pick it up at EB with my transferred credit, of course, but I'd rather use the GR credit directly whenever possible.

Next time I'm in I'll ask if they have an opportunity to order things like that. Though we all know how that will turn out (even if they could they'd never be sure if/when they'd get it).
Changing the subject a bit... I need to start thinking about SPENDING credit for once, instead of just accumulating it :D.
I am just going to save the credit at this point. I figure if they don't get the wii in at least they will get some of the Wii games in. Plus Oct-Dec is when you are hit over the head with new titles.

My plan is to use it on the half dozen DS titles I plan on getting between August and December... hopefully they'll get most or all of them in so I can liquidate the credit I have (assuming I don't build too much more which is silly :D), otherwise I will hope Wii gets some sort of GR coverage.
Does anyone know what Wii and PS3 games they have in the pre-order system?
I listed a few a ways back for PS3. I don't have my list any more - but it is buried somewhere in this thread :D. When I preorder LocoRoco I will ask about those again. I know they couldn't figure out how to look up Wii games so they didn't know if they had those. They have quite a few under PS3 though.

Maybe we can start building a preorder list again and have it in the OP so it doesn't get lost. We stopped listing them there when the preorder deal ended. But the $5 per game bonus is sort of like having the preorder deal anyway - especially for those of you lucky enough to have CC's stocked with Flatout and NBC :D. I figure it is always good to have the credit placed on games instead of sitting in the account or on a value card. Last year during the preorder deal I never kept more than $100-$200 in credit - it all went towards preorders.

I believe they have the wii games listed under REV for revolution. I have to dump another set of CC games off tomorrow so I will try and get a list of Wii preorder games in the system...

BTW - The store I traded at today said they would no longer take disc only games. It ususally is a store by store basis, but they said if you don't have the cover art they won't take the trade. They were not taking UMD movies anymore either. My guess is it could have been just the employee I had or the store manager's policy...

Last time I checked (2 weeks ago), the only Wii game they had in their computer was (strangely enough) Wii Sports. As mentioned above it was listed as REV - Wii Sports, so you'll need to ask to search for REV to get any additional titles.

Traded (all PS2 and before $5 bonus)

NBA Street Vol 3. - $12
We Love Katamari - $12
Outrun 2006 C2C - $12

Preordered NCAA Football 2006 360 - there are 10 on order so there should be plenty at the stores, but just in case....

Traded today, all before $5 bonus

PS2

Hot Shots Golf 3 $2.50
Total Overdose $12
SSX Tricky .75

Xbox

Halo $5
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee $7
So does Gamerush have Prey or Chronohounds in yet I am going today after work to see if they are in.
I saw Prey at my local GR already.
As for Chromehounds (I think that's the game you want), they said they would get it friday (today).

Today's the big spending day for me, leading up to an awesome night filled with:

A brand new DS Lite
New Super Mario Bros. or Metroid Prime: Hunters
and Prey for 360

I'm going to have about $7 of credit left over.
So does Gamerush have Prey or Chronohounds in yet I am going today after work to see if they are in.
I didn't check for RETAIL copies, but they had NO rental copies of either....no LOTR either to rent. Weird. Unless they are slacking in putting them out on the shelf.

A few more updated trade prices that are not on the wiki:

XBOX 360
- LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth 2: $35

XBOX
- Ghost Recon 2 - $6

GBA
- Ace Combat - $8
- LOTR: the Third Age $4.50

So, just out of curiosity, how much credit do you guys have at GR? I once had about $300 or so, then bought a PSP. I then accumulated almost another $300 that I used towards an Xbox 360. Since then, I have never had more than $200 of credit since. Right now, I think I have about $150 in credit. I've stopped accumulating as much, because I never have anything to spend it on.

I've stopped accumulating as much, because I never have anything to spend it on.
Around $250 right now, after moving about $300 or more into upwards of $600 at EB.

I've got $245 in credit right now, which is getting liquidated in about an hour and a half. And mgreig, you sure finished with LOTR: BFME 2 quick.. :D

I once had about $180, but bought Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and a DS Lite (which is currently going to Nintendo for repairs....I'm picky about dead pixels. If it weren't bright green, maybe I wouldn't be so picky about it!).

I then amassed another $54, which I just blew to transfer to EB for $74.

I've run out of games to trade in, so I'm done for now.
I didn't check for RETAIL copies, but they had NO rental copies of either....no LOTR either to rent. Weird. Unless they are slacking in putting them out on the shelf.
I called my GR to check at around 2PM est and they said no .
Now I remember why I hate pre-ordering from GR .
They should call it post-ordering , since it's always after the real game stores get it that they finally do .
You'd think that if they were serious about becoming a major player in the game retail industry they would correct this situation .

The GR I went to had Prey, Chromehounds, and NCAA Football for purchase. There were about 6 copies of the regular version of Prey, 1 Prey CE, 3 Chromehounds, and a huge amount of NCAA Football. Was considering picking up NCAA, but after playing the demo I'll wait.

Trade in Prices:

Viewtiful Joe 2 (GCN) .50
Killzone 7.00
Stolen (XB) 1.00

Just to confirm a post above. Prey and Chromehounds were in stock at the local GR today. One of the employees was preaching about Chromehounds to every who walked in the door...

FWIW, my GR had a bunch of those Xbox360 games everyone is talking about and they said they had NCAA Football as I was asking about preorders (I didn't preorder it).

But before that I went to a regular BB and found a few more clearance goodies (for EB that is):

PS2 - Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets: $3.75 (not in OP)
GC - ditto (this is in the OP)
PS2 - Midnight Club: $3.75 (as said before, not in OP)
PS2 - Madden NFL 2003: $1.25 (in OP)

On that last one, I figure it is costing me just over 50 cents in real money, so that even if I can't sneak it into my EB trades as one of the bonus-qualified games, it is still worth trading at the minimum of $1.10. The amazing thing is that these were actually marked at those prices, but since they were kind of mixed in with the used games I don't think people noticed them. I mean, sure, they are crappy games, but for most normal (non CAG) people $1-$4 for a sealed PS2 game would be automatic.

And now on to preorders.

The guy read off every PS3 and Wii game they had in the system and I missed a bunch because I was trying to scribble on the back of a Blockbuster receipt whilst simultaneously deciphering his accent :D. Wii games are now listed under "WII" by the way.

PS3:

Call of Duty
DMC
Full Auto 2
GTA
Killzone 2
MGS4
MS Gundam
Oblivion
RE5
Resistance Fall of Man
Sonic
Tony Hawk's Project 8
Warhawk

I missed several others, but one I made sure to check on was FF XIII, which is NOT in the system.

Wii:

Ant Bully
Call of Duty
Cars (WTF?)
Chicken Little (WTF?)
Elebits
Happy Feet
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Metal Slug Anthology
Rayman
Red Steel

and some others that I missed (didn't double check Super Mario Galaxy, MP3, or Super Smash Brothers, but I don't think I heard those when he ran them off.

I preordered Loco Roco for PSP and LoZ for Wii. The retail on LoZ, and presumably all the Wii and PS3 titles is $59.99, so I only put $5 down in case it goes down later. On PS3 titles, since there's the slight chance they will bump them UP to $69.99 I'd pay in full if you are interested (and have the credit laying around). You'll get it for $59.99 even if they bump it up later if it is considered paid in full now.

Do prices register as the ones listed on page 1 when it goes under the scanner? I went to BB and they had GC controllers marked at $19.99 but it says $5 on this thread.
