Current Sales Deals

All Playstation 1 games $2 (both used & new)

GR is clearing out their stock of Playstation one games for $2 a piece. Get them while they last.

DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.
Some of the stores around me seemed to have been restocked as well. There were copies of space invaders for the super nes for $24.99 sealed new. The employees had it front and center with pride. The one employee actually said you can see our game priorities when the warehouse is cleaned out and we get junk like this. I believe someone else mentioned seeing a space invaders as well...
Wow, thats a big WTF! What store was that? We live fairly close to each other.
Don't worry, this store is just about cleaned out. The clearance table that first appeared a week or so ago is now almost down to a one game-deep layer. Not much left that's a straight credit transfer other than a couple more Clancy Triple Packs, so I'll probably not return unless I have more to trade.
Yeah, I might just go finish off my GR. They had some cheap sports games that are 1-to-1 transfers if EB doesn't apply the bonus (or close anyway at $1.25 in GR -> $1.10 at EB). Plus there are some wrestling titles I think - that WWE vs Raw game got more credit than I expected at EB. I thought it would be $5 -> $1.10, but I think it gets $4 or so.

Yeah... I realized I should have just snagged the other triple pack and the PS2 SRS (I didn't think that one got $3 like the GC version). But we'll see if I feel like making another trip. It's one of those obnoxiously slow
Wow, thats a big WTF! What store was that? We live fairly close to each other.
Yeah, it's weird... The day I saw this post I saw a sealed Space Invaders at my Gamerush too...

Traded in the following tonight:

(all PS2, all before bonus)
007 Agent Under Fire - $.50
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando - $6
Sly 2: Band of Thieves - $7
Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves - $19
Star Wars Battlefront II - $6
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelists of the Roses - $1
All of the prices I got for clearance matched the OP except for one - Killer 7 on Gamecube was $3.75. (The weirdest part? It had a $14.99 sticker on it - so it was repriced to match the new 75% value.)
I bought about 10 copies of Killer 7 at about 10 different Gamerush stores (left about 100 copies) and every copy I ever bought rang up $3.75. I reported the price in this thread about 3 times as did other people but for some reason it's always been listed on the main page at $5.00.

It was $10 when I bought my copy at the start of the 50% off clearance. Then I bought a copy later in Atlanta and it rang up $7.50. So they dropped the regular price fro $20 to $15 some time back when 50% was still on. Then when it hit 75%, of course, it dropped to $3.75.

100's of Killer 7? Man, again, I'm very jealous. There were 1 or 2 at my GR and it's a good thing I bought my copy for $10 when they were first at 50% off - it wouldn't have been available at 75% off. As it is I'm going to take the $7.50 + tax copy I bought in Atlanta to EB to trade in and thinking I'm getting a good deal (about even trade-in value). Copies at $3.75 would be wonderful :D.

I have a stack of 15 games (14 of which are from GR/BB) I'm bringing into my 'good' EB tomorrow for one last $10 bonus + 10% Edge + 10% preorder bonus deal. I still have a few others after that (duplicates, mostly) that I'll just take to another EB near the end of the deal.

The last copy of Killer 7 that I picked up for Gamecube at Gamerush was $2.50. I might still have that reciept too.
Anyone know what Baten Kaitos gets for trade-in and if it's excluded from the $5 bonus promotion?
If I had to guess, I'd say $1 (it's a clearance game) but it should qualify for the bonus, since they haven't been reducing the used prices.
GameRUSH should have NCAA 07 today, right? Yeah...football for me :)
They had it yesterday for all systems, though they weren't supposed to rent or sell it yet.

Huh. I've never actually seen a new copy of Killer 7 in GR before yesterday, so I made an assumption based on the OP.

I didn't mean to disparage Mption, either. ;)

With this thread nearing 90 pages, could someone maybe summarize what the best BB/GR clearance ----> convert to EB credit deals are?

As credit changes at EB as well, I'm a little lost and would still like to move some credit.

Anything $5 and under at GR is good for transferring credit to EB. If you are paying cash, though, you need to be more careful (as many of the $5 transfers will trade for just under $5 at EB). If it is already existing GR credit then no worries - just do it!
They had it yesterday for all systems, though they weren't supposed to rent or sell it yet.
Why can't they do this with ALL games?! :bomb:

OK, I have determined why I despise my Blockbuster with a passion. I took 3 games in there to trade in and was told that none of them qualified. Hell, none of them even popped up in the system for the most part. The clerk eventually got the trade prices to come up but it was quite the hassle.

The 3 games I tried to trade today were:

Robotech Invasion(PS2): $1.25
Riddick(Xbox)$1
Soul Calibur II(PS2):$1 or $1.25(I forget which)

She looked around and found the literature for the trade deal, which CLEARLY states: "Trade any 3 PS2,Xbox,Xbox 360, GC games and receive $5 extra credit on each, 2005 sports games qualify etc, etc."

She proceeds to somehow gravitate to the 'sports games' part of the paragraph about the trade deal and won't stop quoting it.

She says the 'trade deal is for SPORTS games ONLY, I guess.'

This is just further proof positive that Dr. Frankenstein must've operated on some of these BB employees, as other CAGs have had similiar experiences with the unique interpretation of the trade deal by said employees.

What a bunch of flippin morons at this store.

Anyway, I may try another BB store tomorrow sometime, but for the rest of today, I'm gonna stay in the AC and out of this oppressive heatwave.

I forgot to mention yesterday that a lot of used prices of older games dropped this week (many of them to $4.99 or $6.99). I can't really remember what titles, but it was pretty clear that they were trying to exclude a lot of the older games from the trade-in deal. Good if you are looking to buy some old stuff, but bad for trade-in prices and this deal in particular.
They had it yesterday for all systems, though they weren't supposed to rent or sell it yet.
Thanks...I will pick mine up later today then. 1/2 hour or so...yeah.

No GRs by me have a DS Lite in stock. I want to get rid of my old DS, cause the new one is awesome. Has anyone's store been restocked lately?
The last copy of Killer 7 that I picked up for Gamecube at Gamerush was $2.50. I might still have that reciept too.
Dammit, that $7.50 + tax copy that I've been holding on to for over a month traded for only $1.50 at EB today - that's down from $3 just a few days ago according to the wiki. Oh well, my first substantial loss on a GR->EB transfer. I made up for it in other transfer games though.

Another minor credit transfer device - the Justice League GC controller 2-pack that every single Blockbuster has (at least it seems that way) even if they have no new games for sale. It's not great, but I'm desperate. They cost $5 for the 2-pack, and each controller trades for $2.20 after Edge boost. A slight loss in credit, but a net gain considering the original cash cost (I figure I'm paying $2.10 in real money for the controllers to get $4.40 in EB credit). Of course, you can't bring stacks of these controllers in, and it isn't really worth the hassle to do so anyway, but if you see them at a BB and are heading to EB anyway, you might as well grab one (as I did today).

A semi-decent credit transfer game that I discovered today is Urbz for Xbox, which I've found at 3 regular BB's. It costs $5, but gets $3 before bonus - I ended up with over $8 from it with all bonuses. A better one is GoldenEye for GC, which also costs $5, but gets you $4 before bonus. I found another today at a regular BB.
I'm looking to buy something at EB Games, but I only have a ton of credit at Gamerush. Are there any new or used games that make good credit transfers?
#-o

Like I said just a few posts back, if you are looking to transfer credit from GR to EB, ANYTHING THAT COSTS $5 OR LESS (and is not a sports game) is good to go, since you are guaranteed at least $4.33 per game at EB with the current promo (which ends in a week by the way).

At the beginning of the 75% off sale we might have been able to suggest a few good things (like MMAC, Silent Hill 4, etc). The problem is that now most of the GR's are picked clean - but you can still probably find a few games to use. I picked up some iffy ones today - Aggressive Inline and NBA Street Vol 2. Both of those are YMMV at being accepted by EB. I'm going to try soon at one store that probably won't take them, but I know another that probably will.

You should just stop answering them, io.

Gretzky 06 for PS2 dropped to $9.25 today from $12 if you were getting it for $5 from Best Buy...still a triple profit after bonus though.

By the way, picked up the Ikai I Sound speakers for PSP for $7.50. Not too shabby. They havent been marked in either of the GR I checked, so I had them scan it for the hell of it. Will work nice with my PSP at work or the wife's Ipod.

Gran Turismo 4 is worth $6 before bonus. Earlier in the thread that showed the values of the letter "G" games it was listed as $30. I'm sure we all suspected a typo there. Just thought I'd confirm the price.
I'm looking to buy something at EB Games, but I only have a ton of credit at Gamerush. Are there any new or used games that make good credit transfers?
really anything that is 5 bucks or less at GR is good for trading at EB while they are still doing the trade 3 get $10 extra deal....as io previously stated providing you are buying these GR games with credit...

today i checked one last BB/GR store in town that i haven't checked out and i hit the motherload...they had at least 20 different clearance games left ALL of which were not tagged as such and were mixed in with all of the new games. a few of these were good ones, mega man anniv for ps2, rogue agent for GC, metroid prime 2, world tour poker (5 bucks at eb before bonus).

over the past week i have been able to convert $320 of GR credit (tax included) into $500 of EB credit using these $5 or less games from GR. my GR to EB conversion rate was right at 156% which sounds similar to what io and others have gotten...

figuring the GR credit cost me 40 cents on the dollar (i am pretty sure it was actually less than this, but trying to be conservative) i got $500 of EB credit for about 25 cents on the dollar or around $130 cash out of pocket...

$130 cash -----> $320 GR credit -----> $500 EB credit ....seems pretty damn good to me

got another $45 at EB for trading in gamecube system with GI coupon for $20 bucks extra

still have about $275 GR credit left -------> Wii here I come
and now i have $545 EB credit ------------> PS3 here I come (maybe!)

I'm thinking of trading in the following games, can anyone confirm if the $5 bonuses can be applied to them?
All of them are on the PS2:
Army Men Sarge's Heroes 2
Champions of Norrath
Crazy Taxi
Disaster Report
Ico
Killer 7
Mega Man X7
Secret Weapons Over Normandy
Silent Line: Armored Core
Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven

Possible Substitutes (I'm a bit wary of trading these in, but I might consider them if one or more of the above are not applicable):
Armored Core 2
The Sims
Ultimate Spiderman
Way of the Samurai
I'm thinking of trading in the following games, can anyone confirm if the $5 bonuses can be applied to them?
All of them are on the PS2:
Army Men Sarge's Heroes
Champions of Norrath
Crazy Taxi
Disaster Report
Ico
Killer 7
Mega Man X7
Secret Weapons Over Normandy
Silent Line: Armored Core
Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven

The Sims
Ultimate Spiderman
Way of the Samurai
Crazy Taxi and Tenchu are the only games I see on your list that might not qualify.

Wow, nice way to transfer credit...although, not sure if I have the time to do all that. I have $470 credit after purchasing NCAA 07 last night. This is basically my gaming fund for a while now since I have a child on the way. Have to save money somewhere. Not sure if I'll just buy every 360 game I want over the next year OR get a Wii or PS3 (maybe the latter to sell and make a profit).

I also have 3 games pre-ordered still from previous deals (Saint's Row, Gears of war, Halo3)
Unfortunately, I found out this yesterday as well. Was using a PS2 Power Drome which had qualified for the extra $5. Now it sells for $6.99 so it's off the list.

Anyone know if Xbox Crimson Skies still qualifies? I'm trying to get a cheap game to round out a threesome (I have two Xbox Flatouts to trade).

Btw, another update for the wiki.

Xbox Flatout - $19 - 7/18/06 (dropped from $24, but still amazed that it's this high considering new retail is $19.99)
Gran Turismo 4 is worth $6 before bonus. Earlier in the thread that showed the values of the letter "G" games it was listed as $30. I'm sure we all suspected a typo there. Just thought I'd confirm the price.
The Gran Turismo price was not a typo... the trade in price at my store is listed at $30 (or was the day listed on that post). I will double check it next time I'm in store to see if it dropped (since yesterday was Tuesday). In the meantime, here's the rest of the G's and som H's.

PS2
Gunfighter 2 - $6 - 07/17/06
Gungrave - $4.25 - 07/17/06
Gungrave OD - $1.25 - 07/17/06
Gungriffon Blaze - $1 - 07/17/06
Guy Game - $2.50 - 07/17/06
H2O Overdrive - $2.50 - 07/17/06
Half Life - $4.25 - 07/17/06
Hard Hitter Tennis 2 - $1 - 07/18/06
Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire - $6 - 07/18/06
Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets - $10 - 07/18/06
Harry Potter Sorcerer's Stone - $2.50 - 07/18/06
Harry Potter Quidditch - $0.50 - 07/18/06
Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban - $5 or $0.50 - 07/18/06 (same game was listed twice with 2 diff. prices)
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life (SE) - $12 - 07/18/06
Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland - $7 - 07/18/06
Haunted Mansion - $2.50 - 07/18/06
Haunting Ground - $16 - 07/18/06
Haven: Call of the King - $1 - 07/18/06
world tour poker (5 bucks at eb before bonus)
This actually gets $3 at EB. The wiki hasn't been updated. Still puts you on the positive side of the equation after bonus.

As an aside, I stopped by the closest BlockBuster on a whim last night to see if they had anything. Never been in this store - it's smack dab in the middle of tourist town. I was able to pick up two credit transfer titles, though. The employee thought something was wrong when two games marked $30 in total rang up at $8. She called the shift lead over, who just said "Yeah, so? I don't care." Gotta love a good attitude. ;)

Since Shipwreck noted that a bunch of games dropped to $4.99 and $6.99 used, does anyone have the inside scoop to post which games dropped below the magical $7.99 mark?

I don't actually have a GR in the area, but if any helpful people out there could pick these up for me and just add shipping onto it (depending on the psi-ops price), PM me and let me know

PS2--
Psi-Ops
Shadow Hearts Covenant $7.50
Shadow Of Rome $7.50
Logitech Wireless Controllers $7.50

A few new trade-in values:

PS2
- Steambot Chronicles: $24 (took me forever to find this too - what a disappointing game)
- 1st-party controller: $3

NGC
- 1st-party controller: $3

Genji is still holding @ 9.50 too for another week - didn't check the other usual suspects.

Psi-Ops should be $4.25 ($16.99-75%).

Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets - $10 - 07/18/06
I find this really surprising because it is a $3.75 clearance game. I bought 2 the other day at a regular BB - tagged $3.75 (off the original $14.99 price) and rang up that way no problem (so not mistagged).

I was going to do another GR trade and I'll throw this in just to see (otherwise it will go to EB). Seems very odd though...

$10 would be high even if it wasn't a clearance game as it was still just $14.99 new. Are you sure that isn't a mistyped $1? Considering Azkahban and Goblet of Fire are less...

I would kill for some of these games for five bucks. Don't suppose anyone is willing help out a guy? A few I can pull off the top of my head that are on the list are:

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Killer 7 (GC)
Geist
Shadow hearts Covenant
Psychonauts (Xbox)
Phantom Dust
Brothers In Arms: Road To Hill 30 (Xbox)
XIII (Xbox or GC)
And possibly some Nintendo GC controllers and the Gameboy Player (or other good accessories, give me a heads up).

That's all I can think of for now. If anyone has these and is willing to make a deal, let me know. I'm looking for factory sealed (no stretchy shrink wrap) games that are in good condition (not all beat up from the stampede ;) ). Want to buy. Thanks for reading. :)

I'll make a thread later with my wants. :)

Some recent trade-ins as of 7/18
Xbox - Galleon - 12
Xbox - Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee - 2.50
GC - Auto Modellista - 12

Galleon is different from the wiki, oddworld and auto modellista are down.
