Just looking for trade-in prices? Well, check out what's been reported:
GameRush Trade-In Prices Wiki
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

50% Off Sale

Edit: It looks as though more games are being added to the 50% off list on 3/25/07. Here's what jaybsooner is reporting:
Hey guys, just a head's up. Went to my local Gamerush today (03/24/07), noticed they had put a ton of the NEW games they had for sale on a side counter. The manager told me they were being added to the 50% off sale. These were new additions to the previous sale. He let me look at the list he had for his store of the pulled games. PS2, XBOX, PSP, Gamecube, and 360 were on the list, the majority of the list (about half) was original XBOX, with about 20% PS2, rest a mix of 360, Gamecube, and PSP.

Can't recite the list verbatim, but you may want to check with your local game rush, I believe the actual list may vary from store to store, based what they have in inventory.

If you want, post what titles you are interested in and I will do my best to recall if it was included on the list, but I would suggest going to you local Gamerush and scout it out today!!
The prices will be listed on the price drop reports as 1 cent drops making the game prices end in .98. The 50% will be automatically deducted when the employee hits the Total button. It's very unlikely that there is any signage or changes in prices actually displayed at the stores yet.

Okay, details are still rolling in and we don't have a full list yet, but we're getting there.

FAQ (Read before you ask a question.)

Q: Are used games included?
A: No, this is only for new games.

Q: Is this sale going on at normal Blockbusters?
A: Yes, as long as it is not a franchise Blockbuster. Most Blockbusters are not franchise locations. Call your local store and ask if they are a corporate or a franchise store if you are unsure or check a past receipt to see if it says "Blockbuster Franchisee".

Q: The games are scanning at full price, is this sale for real?
A: You won't get the discount until the employee hits "Total" on the register.

Q: Do Blockbuster gift cards work at Gamerush?
A: Yes.

Q: Is this going on nationwide?
A: Yes, but see details on franchise locations above.

Q: My blockbuster employees say they don't know anything about the sale, is this sale real or happening in my area?
A: It's a good thing that they don't know and see above franchise locations information.

Q: If I ask something that is clearly laid out here in the OP, will shipwreck make fun of me?
A: Probably.

(All prices are after the 50% off discount.)
As far as I was told, it is on new games only, and is 50% off the marked price. The list was also laying on the back counter and I perused it. The list of games are for the PS2, GameCube, Xbox, PSP, and Xbox360. There are no DS games.

I wrote down the Xbox360 games since I thought those would be the most interesting. There were not many PSP games and the ones on the list were not very exciting. So without further ado, the Entire Xbox360 50% Off GameRush Listing:

System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

Random Tip
FIFA 2007 for the Xbox 360 is currently listed at $40 new ($60 everywhere else). If you pre-order it and pay for it in full now, you should be able to pick it up when it releases and save yourself $20.

There's a few others I'm forgetting. I think 24: The Game for PS2 is on clearance for $10. They had it Tuesday morning marked at $20 before I was aware of the sale and it was gone Wednesday night.
I hope they do send it here to Fresno.:applause: There are three GRs here. I went to all three on tuesday and wednesday. I only picked up Dead Rising although there were some other games like Lego Star wars II, splinter cell, madden....when are they going to send their gaming stock on down here?
Actually there are about six GRs here in Fresno. Seven if you count the one in Clovis.

Sir, if you count the two Clovis locations, there are 7 locations in the general Fresno area for GR goodness. The location you might want to check out is the Kings Canyon/Clovis location as they have not even set a table out & were unaware of the sale altogether (no competion to deal with :D)

Is this deal still running? I want Zelda TP for GC for $30. If I call the stores in my area, can they tell me if Zelda is in stock?

Also, pardon my stupidity, but isn't Blockbuster a renting store for home videos?

Ah, the power of quoting...

No, its dead. The 50 posts today from people saying they'd bought stuff were all liars out to trick you.

Seriously guys.
Check www.gamerush.com for locations - they are not in all Blockbuster locations. And yeah, call the local Gamerush, and ask if they have Zelda TP NEW in stock. The one I went to last night had at least 5 new ones in stock. I already had it from the buy.com deal for $29 though.

Also, the one I went to had Battalion Wars marked at $10.99 - I don't know if it would be another 50% off of this price (didn't see it on the list), but that is a pretty tasty price already. Already have it though.

Thanks OP, BTW. You really helped make up for a lousy Best Buy (nonexistent) clearance this week.

Note that you don't have to worry about what the games are sticker priced at - most of the games I picked up yesterday were marked with old or original sticker prices, and rang up at much less. Hell, the used copies were sticker priced at much more than these new games. Then at checkout, half was taken off!

I picked up:

iconxbox360.gif
Phantasy Star Universe - $20
iconps2_r2.gif
Tales of the Abyss - $18
iconps2_r2.gif
Xenosaga 3 - $15? can't remember but it was a good price
iconpsp_r2.gif
Dungeon Seige - $20

Separate, not on sale, but cheap enough for me:

iconxbox_r2.gif
Castlevania CoD - $20
iconps2_r2.gif
Trapt - $15

I wish there were DS games included...I would have picked up Hotel Dusk. I may go back, because I saw Grandia III and some other PS2 RPGs that aren't on the list but I may try and see if they are discounted anyway.
There isn't a Gamerush within 50 miles though. Sucks.
Shit. Try your local Blockbusters...there must be some within 50 miles of you. If it's a corporate store, chances are it has the deal going on.

Good luck finding a LoZ TP GC though, especially if they have the prices marked 50% off.

I don't know if buy.com has the deal still, but you could try to get it there for $29.
Ah, I also saw Marvel Ultimate Alliance for PS2 as the Blockbuster near me last night. At half off it was $20.
Shit...I wonder if X360 is also half off?!? Or even Xbox version.
Also not in th orginal post Cars for 360 was $19.99. Picked that up for my 8 year od sister today.
I love how you had to qualify that statement with the disclaimer. "Now guys, listen, this isn't for me, it's for my sister...ya got that? But anyway, I picked up Cars for the 360...IT'S FOR MY SISTER, CAPICHE?!?"

Picked up Hulk Ultimate Destruction for xbox (7.50). Have checked four Cinci area gamerushes and have not been able to find the things I am really looking for (Tales of the Abyss, Call of Cthlulu(sp?)).

"But if I DID buy it for myself, I'd get the points on it!"

Weird... I called and she said Hulk: UD isn't even in the system. I assume that means she didn't enter it correctly, but who knows. Time to call another.

Edit: Two copies at the other store, and he actually knew it was 50% off. Excellent. Road trip after work.

Hmm...the one off 42 had a display box for Tales of the Abyss on Tuesday, but I'm not sure if they have the game or not.

I picked up a Call of Cthulhu at the Harper's Pointe location, but I haven's seen any more copies of it and I've visited the following locations:

Blue Ash
Landen
42
Montgomery Road near Kenwood Mall
Harper's Pointe

The only other one I usually visit is Kings Mills, but I probably won't get by there anytime really soon.
Hmm...the one off 42 had a display box for Tales of the Abyss on Tuesday, but I'm not sure if they have the game or not.

I picked up a Call of Cthulhu at the Harper's Pointe location, but I haven's seen any more copies of it and I've visited the following locations:

Blue Ash
Landen

I've got a Call of Cthulhu . Now if I could find a Twilight Princess...

Got Xenosaga III and Just Cause. No Tales of the Abyss or Fatal Frame 3 in any of the 3 North Texas locations I went to (2 Allen locations, and 1 in Mckinney). If anyone wants to swap ToA or FF3 for Just Cause (360) let me know.
Shit...I wonder if X360 is also half off?!? Or even Xbox version.
It's $30 for the 360 after discount.

I was at the rt. 42 store yesterday and didn't think to look at the display boxes. Have been to Colerain Ave, Landen, and Kings Mills/Mason so far. It may be time to expand my search radius.

A regular (non-GR) Blockbuster is NOT going to have Zelda Twilight Princess for the GC in stock new - I can almost guarantee that (personally I find it hard to believe any GR has them as my store only got 1 copy back in Dec). The best you are going to find from the sale at those are some of the GH/PH games and for the Gamecube things like Super Mario Sunshine, SSBM, Luigi's Mansion.

Shipwreck - my store always has lots of display cases for games they don't have (and in some cases never had). I never thought having display cases meant anything .

contak - You have access to the wonderful bounty of SEVEN GR's stores in your area and you want the stock from my one pathetic GR? Greedy bastard...

And to the guy wishing Hotel Dusk was part of the sale so he could pick it up - Sheesh, I just wished they had gotten my preordered copy in. My store never got it at all. Ditto Lunar Knights and Ratchet & Clank Size Matters.

I'm still looking for Star Wars Lethal Alliance for PSP if someone wants to work out a trade. Maybe Cars for the 360 as well (for the right trade) - and YES, indeed, it is for my son. He actually completed the Wii version but wants it for the 360 now too! But for sure I'll let him get me the achievement points ;).

Yeah, it might not mean a thing, but at that location they are a little more on top of things than most other GameRushes, so he might get lucky. It's at least worth giving them a call to see if they have it in stock.

This particular location had already separated out all the clearance games and they even made a little display right in front of the register with display boxes of all the 360 games that were on clearance. It was a simple matter of just going to the register and handing the employee one of the display boxes. Then he'd go to the glass case and get the corresponding game.

So how much is Star Wars Lethal Alliance for PSP and do I want to buy it? I saw a copy at the local Gamerush. I also saw Tales of the Abyss and am debating getting it even though I'm not a big RPG fan.

Ah, well that's a little different then - they probably have them out for security reasons and it is specifically for this sale. At my GR the clearance games are all in security cases and physically out on a rack near the entrance. The display cases I was referring to are on the endcap in the normal game section. For example, they've had a Zelda Twilight Princess GC one out there since November and they only ever got 1 copy of the game in - but they advertize it like it is available. Same thing for any number of 360 games they no longer have .

Rictor - You can read ViolentLee's review of Lethal Alliance. It is not supposed to be that great, and I think it would be $20 after the clearance? Since that is just under $10 in real money (for me) I'd be tempted. If my store had it I'd snag it, but it doesn't. If someone wants to trade for something, though, I'd consider it.

Anybody want to help me out? I'm at school and away from any Blockbuster or GameRush for about two more weeks...

This is my want list. I will pay for shipping plus a little extra for your services. Just PM me an offer.

:ps2:
Ape Escape 3
Crazy Taxi
Jak 3
SOCOM Navy Seals Combined Assault
We Love Katamari

:gc:
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Luigi's Mansion
Mario Party 4
Fire Emblem

:xbox:
Halo 2 Collector's Edition

:360:
Dead Rising
XBLA Unplugged
Prey
Conker Live and Reloaded is apart of the deal for $10 after 50% off.
Well, there's another I'd trade for.

Well, lucked out and snagged a Hulk: UD (XB) for $7.50 at my normal GR, the one that said they didn't have it. Decided to cancel my FFVI preorder before going to the other store so I had access to the credit, but now I can let it sit for a little longer.

They had actually put things out at a 50% off table, but very little. I'm sure they missed a few (like my copy of Hulk), but they were reorganizing the shelves at the same time.

Went to another GR location at lunch today (was trying to go for 2 but ran out of time).

Picked up N3 for X360, $15
Drakengard 2 $10
some game for PSP I can't remember that I wanted, $15.

MegaMan PowerUp for PSP is definitely NOT part of the deal - $20. Zelda 4 Swords GC is definitely NOT part of the deal - $30:roll: . I wish Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins was part of the deal.

And the guy who posted about the west LA stores is right - stuff is pretty much cleared out, at least of the RPGs and really good stuff like Dead Rising.

I'm still going to look for Dead Rising, Fatal Frame III and We Love Katamari. Everything else I wanted, I pretty much picked up the last copy.

I might be able to find certain things, like Zelda Twilight Princess GC. They may have gotten cleaned out from the location I went to yesterday, though.

BTW, Hulk UD is available at Amazon for $9.82...no driving, no tax, no calling on the phone to check stock. Use it as a filler for something else.

Here's some misc trade-in values for 2/26/07. I've already updated the wiki.
(Don't worry, I didn't actually trade most of these in for these prices.)

PS2

Gradius III & IV - $1.25
Tekken 5 - $6.00
Transformers - $0.75
Virtua Fighter 4: Evo - $1.25

Xbox

GTA: Vice City - $7.00
Outrun 2 - $0.75
Unreal Championship - $0.50

Xbox360

Kameo - $9.00
The magical CAG buy *almost* anything price of $5 ;).
yup if it was $10 it would have been left at the store!
bah looks like the xbox version doesn't have co-op while the ps2 version does
The magical CAG buy *almost* anything price of $5 ;).
And how!

Honestly, I think the only things I've passed up for five bucks have been either sports games or steaming piles of crap. If the game's even decent, I tend to bite at the $5 mark, if not sooner.

I went to 2 regular Blockbusters. One had "clearance" stickers on a handful of crap games. The other store had no stickers and barely any games on the list, when I arrived an employee had run over and grabbed a game off the rack then ran back to behind the register. Then I overheard that all/many of their clearance games were "in the back". Big waste of time. I suggest not even bothering when its a regular BB. Too bad there are absolutely no Game Rushes within 50 miles.

WTF! I just moved to California and the local Gamerush doesn't accept GBA games for trade in and doesn't do preorders. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?

You guys moved to CA? Where? Someone else reported a store not taking preorders because they weren't getting them in when preordered. Sounds like my store  (though they continue to take preorders even now with only 11 days to go). Don't know about the GBA issue though - that's a new one.

Woodland Hills (Los Angeles)

I need to find another store to preorder at. I traded in a bunch of stuff before we moved and have a ton of credit.

I think they are all over the place down there, so I'm sure you can find one, even if it means a bit of a drive. Hey, for me it will be a 600 mile drive (to Fresno I guess) if I want to preorder .

Disregard what I mentioned about the EB/GS deal - it looks like it is for 360 games only. And the Trade 3 get $10 extra is only decent if they allow lower priced games, which most 360 games aren't at this time - even the 50% off ones at GR probably aren't worth doing that with, though *maybe* they are break-even trades, I have no idea.

Stupid question, but I'd rather look like an idiot here than at GR: does the employee have to hit total after each game is scanned, or just at the end after all the games have been scanned?

That's actually not a stupid question. Total can be hit after all the games are scanned. It will properly apply the discount to all the applicable games.

I was able to find Tales of the Abyss at the Rt. 42 store. Snagged the last copy. Thanks for the heads up, shipwreck.

Now I just need to find Cthulhu...
