Gamerush deal starting 10/12

I work for Gamerush ( Blockbuster ) and my manager told me today that the new deals for the month are as follows:

Trade one used game, get any new game $29.99

Trade any game and get any new, 'Best of 2004 " game for 1/2 off.

The best of is apparently a listing of certain games, don't know which ones yet though. Both are killer deals.

Does not apply to preorders and ends the day before Halo 2 comes out :(

Thanks for the info. I'm suprised that they are bringing back the trade a game get any game for $29.99, since I thought they were losing alot of money fast. :?

If anyone one wants confirmation, this is true. I got a buddy who is a manager at Gamerush and he told me this was coming. Actually, he told me over a week ago but I was too lazy to post :(

I also don't mind answering questions anyone has too.

Basically what Gamerush is doing is trading profit margin for used inventory, for which they can make up the lost margin when the used games are sold. I sure don't think the deals are going to be this good always.

also, minimum of $8 per DVD trade at BB too ( and you can use the credit for anything in the store ;D
 
What are the restrictions for the new $29.99 game when you trade in one used game? Because MK: Kollector's Ed is $59.99 MSRP, I'm skeptical that it'll be eligible for the offer.
 
when you trade in a game and get a new one for 30, do u still get the credit of the game that you traded in.

for instance if i trade in a game for 30 credit, will i get 20 off a new game, and the 30 credit, or do i only get 20 off the game.

I haven't seen all the details on the deal yet, but worst case scenario is that it would cost $39.99 instead of $29.99. That is my best guess.

Yes, you always get the credit for the game, the deal and credit are 2 seperate issues. This may change in the future though.
 
do you have a list of exclusions for the one used game get a new game for $29.99 deal aside from the usuals (ie old sports games, etc.)?

Wow, here I go thinking they are going to restrict the deals because they have been "too good" and they make them even better. Time to spend some credit on the best of 2004 and some new releases.
 
I hate that I don't have a Gamerush. All I have is the crappy Blockbusters with 19.99 asstaculer games.
 
This is great, just wondering if this means that effective immediately the preorder deal is off and the $5 extra per game for trading in 3 or more is off. If you know, please pass on the info. Thanks.

Yeah, preorder deal ended 10/11 and new deal starts 10/12
 
The trade in one PO and get a new game for 30 bucks is far better than the preorder deal... I'll get MGS 3 this way, if the deal is still around when it comes out.
 
jshorr, The preorder deal is off, and the $5 extra per game has been extended to November. I can't remember the official date, but I think it's in the middle of November.

The trade 2, get 1 new game for $29.99 deal is only good in 5 or 6 Gamerush markets. For example, I work in the Detroit market and we are not running this deal. I'm guessing that it is a deal mainly for the newer Gamerush locations.

The trade 2, get a "Best of 2004" game 1/2 off will be in all markets. I posted on this a couple weeks ago in the main Gamerush thread. A few of the titles involved are Chronicles of Riddick, Custom Robo, and Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban. Nothing very new, but still great deals.

THat won't be too good for me but atleast some of the new people who just got GAmeRush's will have a great deal. :)
 
bah! Just got back from gamerush b/c I heard the pre-order deal was ending tonight. I didn't think they would top that deal. I thought their whole plan was to give amazing deals at the begging to build a customer base then start giving gamestop/eb deals. This deal is ever sweeter than the last. Oh well.. I guess I'll be making another trip soon.

this is how i got donkey konga.they were doing this deal last week at my gamerush, but it was trade in 2,get twenty off a new game thirty or more, if they run trade one game in, get twenty off a new game that would be awesome.
 
i just hope they have a decent selection tomorrow.
how are they on getting games in? are they as good as blockbuster is with getting movies?

EDIT: holy shit......don't paper mario and nocturine come out tomorrow? if so then i'll have both for 60 - my credit. sweet deal. then i wouldn't have to hurry to TRU to get these games when the B2G1 sales start.
 
WOW, great deal.....I will pick up FIFA 2005 this week for XBOX for $30. I actually need to find a $5 game to trade in though...what is left at CC? :)

I hope this is true in the Detroit area....not trade 2 as stated above. we'll see I guess.

Per drfrielgoods quote....we don't even get that deal. I guess I'll see....I'll stop by tomorrow to see if they have Midway Arcade Treasures 2 in yet.....should come out today or tomorrow.
 
This new deal is not going on in NY gamerush stores, unless they just don't know about it yet. They said the existing preorder and extra $5 deals are still good...i'll have to wait and see I guess.
 
I just spoke to someone at one of the stores in the Cincinnati Area (Mason store on Kings Mills Road). He indicated that the trade 3 get $5 extra in credit deal was still going on. He also mentioned that there is a 2 for $30 deal on certain games. The games I remember were:

Midnight Club 2
GTA 3
one of the Tony Hawk titles.

He also stated that they were running a trade-in two games get 50% off what they are calling the best of 2004. The list was long and he didn't cover all the games. The ones I remember are:

Riddick
Driv3r
Sudeki
NBA Ballers
 
This trade 1 get 1 deal is like a free rental pass. I'll trade in my Mortal Kombat and get something new, then I'll trade that in wen i'm through with it and get another new game.... free rentals!
 
new deals... yeah... awesome when combined with the $8 dvds until the end of the month as well as the extra $5 per game (i hear rumors this may have been extended this until the end of the month as well)

deal is true just got paper mario 2 for 29.99 when i traded in metroid. i'm in southern cali so if you are down in this area i would suggest going to your local GR and see if they have the deal.
