CAGiversary!
ALL INFO AND DEALS FOR GAMERUSH (pm/post with any suggestions)

If your in the Oklahoma City area stop by my store at Nw 50th and MacArthur (for now). If your a flipper/scammer at least spare my store the crap titles unless its for presales...thanks. If your good I may hook up with with a special "modification" to a current deal that you may greatly enjoy...

Please note in the next few weeks I will be changing stores to Hefner and Rockwell. They needed the help and while I like my store the pay raise was justifiable and my current sm is moving to pittsburg.

Current Deals

Trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game (LAST DAY IS MAY 16!)

Beginning March 15th till May 23rd, trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game. PSP, NDS, GBA, Xbox, Gcube, and PS2 only. No sports games before '04 and no Freestyle Street Soccer, or minigames/demo discs (the usuals). Also be aware some titles that sell for $4.99 may not work either (Haven, Project Eden, etc.) So don't get upset when they don't.

You may be limited to 10 per day though YMMV.

Trade 2 games and get New Releases and Pre-Orders for $29.99 til September 5th (subject to change)

Should go till September 5th. New releases and Preorder games only $29.99 with 2 game trades (see exclusions above or aka the usual).

This works on all preowned games including retro/n64. If any employee disagrees they can call my store at 1-700-22-40049 (not many people know about it but it calls the store in the company by the last 5 digits store code).

Buy 1 Preowned game get another 1 for 50% off. Takes off lowest priced title so separate and make sure employee scans your groups and barcode seperate.
Price and selection will vary by location and quantities are limited. Offer not valid on previously rented movies, sale items or in conjunction with any other discount or offer. Discount taken at register and will be applied towards lowest price games(s). Customer responsible for applicable taxes. Limit 2 per title per customer per day. Maximum of 20 Pre-owned games per customer per day.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter
2 out= $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). $0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to (and as I have done but that was only because I was tired of crap PS1...).

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

So has anyone picked up Area 51 yet? Whenever I call a GR near me, they'll tell me they don't have the game I'm looking for! What do I see when I go to "browse" an hour later? It gets to be annoying to say the least! Thanks again for the help everyone!
I never got a pre-order bonus for Midnight Club 3 either....oh well...no big loss I'm sure
I agree it's no big loss, I probably wouldn't have even listened to it. It's just the point that this is an incentive to pre-order.

BTW, I called my GR, they have Area 51 in! Hope I get my Midway.
Same here, I usually even ask if there are any promotionals for pre-ordering, and they give me that blank stare like "what you talkin bout willis". I ordered 2 copies of Midnight Club 3 and didn't get no damn music cd.

They have given me promotionals in the past though, but usually stuff that's just laying around from 3 months ago.

I better get the midway game though.

So, from everyones post, I assume area 51 is in..... :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy:

I am going to GR after work. :applause:
I had an interesting little occurrance last week, you were supposed to get a Unreal shirt with your preorder of Unreal Tournament. It's a nice blue shirt with a cool U2 logo on the front. So I ask for my shirt, knowing that it exists, and I'm given an interesting stare, which ends with we dont have any more left. Hmm, I say looking at the two GameRush guys, you wouldn't happen to be wearing my shirt.... So I was offered a Resident Evil shirt instead, which was cool. I had already got the U2 shirt from a different GR.

lol a shirt of unreal 2, i would not wear that shit to school. Even if I did get a shirt I'd prolly use it as a rag.... but that's just me
I saw a new copy of Eternal Darkness at the Jenison, MI Gamerush for $10. i have no idea if this is a good price anymore or not.
I bought one at GR Sunday for $4 after the buy one, get one 50% off. It was marked $16, but rang up for $8 regular price.

I'm wearing it right now. I like video game t-shirts though.

Traded in a few gams today (4/26)

Untold Legends (PSP) - $22
THUG 2 ReMix (PSP) - $28
Midnight Club 3 (Xbox) - $35
XIII (PS2) - $1.50 (Needed to trade a 4th game to get a pre-order)

I pre-ordered Burnout 4, but when I asked about Star Wars Battlefront 2 they said it was not in the system. So instead I pre-ordered Digital Devil Saga 2.

Yeah I tried to order Battlefront 2 as well. They didn't have anything else I wanted so I just kept Battlefront which I was going to use as trade in since it still gets so much. Hope they get it in their system soon.

You will never get DDS2 though. I had the first preordered and it never came in. Apparently they never get anything Atlus publishes for some reason. A lot of smaller publishers aren't carried as well the manager told me. It really sucks because Atlus is putting out tons of good RPGs this year.

This is true. They never get Atlus games. I had SMT: Nocturne and DDS1 preordered and they always assured me they would get it and they never did. It seems like they don't get Working Designs releases either. I tried this with Growlanser Generations Deluxe and regular editions and neither showed.

Hi, I haven't traded at Gamerush before. I am assuming they want the case and the game, but do the games have to have the manual? Is there any reduction in the trade-in value if you don't have the manual? Finally, do they keep the credit in an account, or do you get a game card?

Thanks for all the trade in values. Hopefully I will have some current prices to post tomorrow.

Video Game Collector

You don't even need the box... manual not required either...

As long as the game is in decent condition most Game Rushes will take it. No manual or case required and there is no reduction if you do not have it.

You can keep the credit on your account or put it on a card. you can also put it on your account and if you see something at another store you can put it on a card at anytime as long as its over $5 to be put on the card.

Over time I've found its better to leave it on your account if you shop at the same location alot. Just remember that any fees or any other purchases will use your credit if its on your account so watch out.

If you lose your blockbuster card the credit is still on your account. If you lose your gamerush card the credits gone forever.

I too like the game t-shirts, and there free! I do wear them when kickin around the house or working on the yard.

I love game t-shirts, but they NEVER have them in medium size! Me wearing XL is like Gary Coleman wearing Anna Nicole, almost.

Anyone else see the Logitech case at GR?

And yea, i'd wear game shirts if they came in Medium as well.

yeah i saw them selling few in stock.
I don't know why everyones so excited about this case..

it is a good case but rather bulky and $20 price tag.

My 2 year warranty was $30.. so i didn't buy one..

should i have?

Though in an ad e-mail from BB that I got earlier today, it mentioned both the deals going until 5-16.
Anyone have experience double dipping at the Middletown, OH GR?
Holy crap, there's a GR in Middletown? Now if they'd only put a GR in at the Tylersville Blockbuster, I'd add Middletown to my GR route. Oh well, I'll have to check that location out sometime. That means there are 7 GR's within a 20 minute radius from where I work. I know you can't double-dip at the other 6 locations, so I have a bad feeling that you won't get it to work at Middletown.
Though in an ad e-mail from BB that I got earlier today, it mentioned both the deals going until 5-16.
I got this email as well. Do you take it to mean pretty much all corporate blockbusters should be running the trade 3 / extra $5 deal? Every time I've ever tried at a non-GR Blockbuster the CSR argues with me that the bonus either doesn't apply to each game, or that only the titles they happen to list the trade-in values for qualify.

Anyone have any luck with this deal at regular BB stores?

I have done it at least 6 different Blockbusters, but it usually takes them calling around to find out how to do it, or they say it is only $5 for every 3 games, and it takes 20 minutes :(

NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I traded in 2 more games today.

Xbox Spider-man one- $3
Xbox NBA LIve 2004- $8

Prices are BEFORE the $5 bonus. NAB LIve is selling for $3 right now on ebgames.com. Easy $10 profit for those interested.

Anybody know if Gamerush actually got copies of Stella Deus for those of us who pre-ordered them? After getting shafted on Digital Devil Saga, I don't want to suffer any more surprise disappointment.
Anyone have any luck with this deal at regular BB stores?
I had no problems with the one store that I'd tried it at. Unfortunately (or fortunately since they sell all new releases used for $19.99 or less), all the stores immediately near me are franchise stores, so I haven't had much opportunity to try.
Anybody know if Gamerush actually got copies of Stella Deus for those of us who pre-ordered them? After getting shafted on Digital Devil Saga, I don't want to suffer any more surprise disappointment.
Surprise, they didn't get Stella Deus either.

So basically Gamerush will not recieve DDS2, even though its in the system. That really stinks. Now I have to think of a different game to pre-order. Maybe I will wait to change it after the E3 and see what Xbox 2 games are going to be released.

I can't believe there's at least a dozen GRs in the greater Cincy metro area, but not a single one in Dayton. I feel so robbed. I have to drive 30 minutes to get down to Middletown. It's right off 122, at the corner of Grand and S. Breiel.

I POed Quake 4, which BB says is an XBOX game. When XBOX2 is announced and BB finally enters xbox2 games in the system, will they just replace my xbox Q4 PO with an xbox2 Q4 PO, as the xbox Q4 won't exist? Or will they refund me $50 (or $29.99 ?)

Those of you who ordered DDS, did you guys just get your $$ back?

Nobody really knows if you'll be able to switch it to the Xbox 360 version. This could become a sticky situation if Xbox 360 games are really going to be $60. As far as getting $30 or $50 back, it depends on whether the clerk decides to look up how you purchased the game.

On the X360 games most likely it will end you just pay the $10 difference if they end up being $60. Thats what I'll probably end up doing if there is no corporate line on it.

well, i'm not allowed to trade according to one gamerush now. I went in to trade and the guy was looking at my account apparently and saw I traded in lots of copies of echo night and XIII; I tried to explain I bought alot on ebay, but he kept mentioning that violates the trade agreement. the guy was a dick about it. I mean I never flipped any games at GR to another. Just picked up games at EB.The guy had been a prick about stuff before and I should've tried to trade with somebody else, oh well. anyways i quickly went to another gamerush to trade off alot of remaining stuff and it still worked(so sucks to them).
probably sour grapes here so take from it what you will and feel free to critique/add, but seems like trading in lower priced games anywhere should be favored ideally as a part of capitolism, and if a store(BBV/GR) is going to charge high prices, and buy back for high prices they should expect these consequences) I guess since i'm trading at their store they're free to do whatever they want though.
I have a question; can I expect to not be a able to trade at any blockbuster/gamerush in the near future, or just at that one store? alright, good luck to all you other guys trading at GR, just try not to be obvious i guess.
On the positive, i picked up about 10 SNES games for $10 including super metroid and Tetris and Dr. Mario, so I stand to make >$40 off those 2 alone. who's looking forward to the gamecrazy sale tomorrow/fri.?

what blockbuster stores are you going to that you are getting new releases for 19.99? are they just normal blockbusters? is good for every blockbuster or just a couple?
I got this email as well. Do you take it to mean pretty much all corporate blockbusters should be running the trade 3 / extra $5 deal? Every time I've ever tried at a non-GR Blockbuster the CSR argues with me that the bonus either doesn't apply to each game, or that only the titles they happen to list the trade-in values for qualify.

Anyone have any luck with this deal at regular BB stores?
I have had no problem at 3 different BB's. At 2 of the 3 they had no idea how to do it, but they figured it out after a while. At both of those they also thought it might just be $5 total for all three games (not for each) - but all they had to do was read the large signs hanging all over their store and that straightened them out without me saying a word.

just a heads up for CAGs in the southern california area...san dimas GR got in the logitech psp cases so i'm assumming that a lot of other stores got them in today too.

I went to pick up my Area 51, they didn't give me my free Midway Arcade Treasures 2. I asked them about it and they said they knew nothing about it. I told them people have recieved them at other GameRush and it's available at eb, gamestop, bestbuy, etc. He told me to call tomorrow and ask for the Game Manager, she will know.

GameRush sucks for pre-order bonuses. Good thing the prices are right. :p
well, i'm not allowed to trade according to one gamerush now.

Well, that's a bit wierd - I mean, if they want to enforce the "trade agreement" that's fine - but they should have done it when you were trading in the Echo Nights originally (after the first few that is) and just not allowed you to do more of those, but still allow other games. I mean, I don't even think you need to say you got them at EBAY - when one of the people at my GR asked, just out of curiosity, where I got all my games from, I said I buy them on clearance when I see them. It shouldn't matter to them where they came from as long as they aren't stolen!

That sucks. Are you going to call back tomorrow?

well i basically said as much, that i got multiple on clearance but from ebay. maybe ebay does sound sketchy; like a cover for stealing or something(though was cover for EB really), but this guy was worried that I was getting them for pennies on the dollar and said that if i buy a game for $1 somewhere and trade it for $5 at GR then i'm breaking the trade agreement.

Is he a manager or just a normal worker? I'd complain up the food chain if I was you. If the store manager doesn't do anything go to the regional. Sounds like he was just making something up to try and make his stores stock look better.

Yeah, that's a bizarre statement - what, is it in the trade agreement that you MUST take a loss on the game? As long as you aren't stealing, and aren't flipping from one GR to another (using buy 2 get 1 or something), I don't see how they could possibly care how and for how much you got them for. Maybe if they have too many of a certain game then, sure, they can say they don't want to take that one. But it shouldn't matter how much YOU personally paid for it!

Without the full text of the trade agreement to look at, one would have to assume that you are arguing out of ignorance.

Man, you should spread your echo night and XIII over different GRs. Please never trade more than 3 same copies in one GR. You may need to check if that GR put notes into your account, which will pop up whenever your BB card is scanned in other GRs.
