CAGiversary!
ALL INFO AND DEALS FOR GAMERUSH (pm/post with any suggestions)

If your in the Oklahoma City area stop by my store at Nw 50th and MacArthur (for now). If your a flipper/scammer at least spare my store the crap titles unless its for presales...thanks. If your good I may hook up with with a special "modification" to a current deal that you may greatly enjoy...

Please note in the next few weeks I will be changing stores to Hefner and Rockwell. They needed the help and while I like my store the pay raise was justifiable and my current sm is moving to pittsburg.

Current Deals

Trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game (LAST DAY IS MAY 16!)

Beginning March 15th till May 23rd, trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game. PSP, NDS, GBA, Xbox, Gcube, and PS2 only. No sports games before '04 and no Freestyle Street Soccer, or minigames/demo discs (the usuals). Also be aware some titles that sell for $4.99 may not work either (Haven, Project Eden, etc.) So don't get upset when they don't.

You may be limited to 10 per day though YMMV.

Trade 2 games and get New Releases and Pre-Orders for $29.99 til September 5th (subject to change)

Should go till September 5th. New releases and Preorder games only $29.99 with 2 game trades (see exclusions above or aka the usual).

Buy 1 get 1 50% til close of business May 16

This works on all preowned games including retro/n64. If any employee disagrees they can call my store at 1-700-22-40049 (not many people know about it but it calls the store in the company by the last 5 digits store code).

Buy 1 Preowned game get another 1 for 50% off. Takes off lowest priced title so separate and make sure employee scans your groups and barcode seperate.
Price and selection will vary by location and quantities are limited. Offer not valid on previously rented movies, sale items or in conjunction with any other discount or offer. Discount taken at register and will be applied towards lowest price games(s). Customer responsible for applicable taxes. Limit 2 per title per customer per day. Maximum of 20 Pre-owned games per customer per day.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter
2 out= $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to (and as I have done but that was only because I was tired of crap PS1...).

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

Anyone know GR's policy for hardware returns. Need to return my PSP as it wont hold a charge to the battery for more than 15 minutes no matter how long I let it charge. That plus the dead pixels and dents in the screen should be enough to warrant a return.

One thing I wondered was if my GR doesnt have another PSP in stock .. will another GR exchange it ?

i feel for you big. mine had a dead pixel in the bottom right corner.

but the bad news is that they wont return/exchange/refund/credit/feel-sorry-for-you. what they will do is give you the number to scea. scea will problably help you for your sittuation. let us know.

A dead pixel would not bother me... but the other damage is sort of a pisser... they will take care of you @ Sony.

PS2 Echo Night : Beyond $30

PS2 Malice $16

$111 !!! Then, the sales clerk told me that since I traded in at least 2 games I could get a new release for $29.99. So, I picked up Star Wars Lego for the PS2. Thanks for all the info you guys...

I returned mine because it had dust under the screen the new one i have has two dead pixels but you can't notice them except on white backgrounds so whatever. I just took it in said I wanted to exchange and in 5 minutes I had a new psp with no problems whatsoever.
Why? They said they are taking care of the problems people are having...
For PSP, I understand. In general....not really.

Well I picked up two Echo Night Beyond from my local EB and I will be trading those in today along with others. When I picked up Doom3 on Monday, Brothers in Arms was $35, bummer now that I'm trading mine in, I'll get $30 for it. Oh well I paid $25 w GGC at BBY its still good.
For PSP, I understand. In general....not really.
I think it would take an act of god for Sony to get their customer service like Nintendos' or just to improve it.
impressive... echo night is $30 (hopefully it not dead right now) ;)
I dont think it'll be dead til the next price update. I'm pretty sure only a small volume of Echo Night Beyond is being traded nationwide to warrant any alert from GR.

I bought 3 Echo Nights and a XIII at EB, and had a Harry Potter GBA game I got off someone, and after stops at a couple different Gamerushes I ended up with Tekken 5 and $65 credit.
I just traded one Echo Night at my GR in St. Pete, FL. The deal is still alive as of 04.06.
It'll be alive until Tuesday, at least, that's the day they adjust their prices

Does anyone know what the following games are worth at gamerush?

PS2
Corvette
Smugglers Run
Eternal Ring
Grand Theft Auto 3
Spy Hunter
Madden 2004

Thanks

Well, looks like I will have to check my local EB's and see if they have Echo Night.....I hope GameRush does not give me poop about trading two copies of the game in :)

*EDIT*
Any other games getting good trade-in value???? I'm looking to pick up a few tomorrow during my lunch hour

In my experience they don't seem to bat an eye if you try to trade in two of the same copy. I just tell them my friend wanted me to trade the game in at GR for him.

Since I go in there all the time, I just flat out asked them how many of the same game can you take in one transaction? The manager and clerk both told me 2.

As far as I know, XIII is $2.99 at EB still, and gets your $6.50 at GR. Auto Modellista PS2 and Space Channel 5 PS2 are $5 each, and both get $10 each. They make good fillers for Echo Night Beyond.

Though Malice PS2 is a much better option if you can find it, since it's only $4.99 at EB and nets $11 BEFORE any promos.

I'm personally liking the Echo Night Beyond/King Of Fighters Maximum Impact tag team I've got going. If you have the means (a Meijers near you), I highly suggest this duo. Both titles get you $25 and only cost $10 a piece.

Just something I found by accident today. The 50% off barcode will work more than once. I maybe just the system still registers single sales (people who just by 1 game). have only verified on a non-member account but I did work and took off $8.50 twice off 2 16.99 games.

BTW anyone who is thinking about going to Fry's to check out Echo Night Beyond, it's $24.99 :( and they have a huge pile of them. So far only EB sales it for $9.99 that I know of.

Warning!

Arcadia GR is NOT taking any copies of Echo Night: Beyond.

I just tried this at 10 tonight and the guy working said "Hmmm...that's strange, i get a message that pops up saying to not take any more quantities of this game" He did confirm that it would net 25 dollar trade in credit, but wouldn't let me trade it in because of the message prompt telling him to not accept it.

I went to a BB not too far away (but different region) and they took it with no problems, but I was unable to preorder/new game for 29.99 of course.

Just a word of warning for those thinking about trading it in to the Arcadia GR, they won't take it.

I went to Monrovia GR and West Covina GR (on Azusa) and both were able to take the game w/o problems during the late afternoon (4-6pm). Maybe it just happened tonight.

Traded a copy at the Westchester store. No problems. The manager there is way cool. Neren or something like that. I double dipped for Doom 3 (regular).

They didn't have CE and the only place I can find Splinter Cell CE is EBGames and I'm sure as hell not paying that much for that game since I already owned one and was severely disappointed.

Yea, I read about people pulling this off earlier today and I thought I was safe doing it all throughout the day without any hitches coming up, but I found it strange they would pull something like this at a random time in the night.

BTW, i'm cool with all the employees @ Arcadia, and James wasn't being a jerk or anything but I saw the message with my own eyes, which made me start to worry that GR monitors the site or something...I can't imagine that THAT many Echo Nights were traded in the district, because there aren't many EBs in the area anyway that would have the game to begin with.

Stores will stop accepting copies of games if they have too many. My GR stopped accepting Club World after my friend and I traded in 5 or 6 and they stopped taking RE:CV for PS2 after a couple as well. It worked again two weeks later so they must have moved a unit or two to clear up "room". Last time I went into GR they were boxing up tons of games that they had more than five copies of so I was told. There were hundreds of games being packed up so I imagine GR has some type of safe guard even if it is really weak.

Has anyone managed to pick up Doom3 CE with the trade in 2 deal? I want to pick it up and I saw people got it for preorder before but I wasn't sure if it has worked since release.

Yah I called to a few EBs around the area and none had a copy of Echo Night. The guy at the Santa Anita mall EB told me that he never sold the game since it came out, but yesterday (Tuesday) he sold all 4 copies of it in one day. I'm pretty sure those are probably taken to Arcadia GR for double dipping. I can almost bet you they have about 4 to 5 copies of used Echo on display by end of the week. But you're right, all the employees at the Arcadia GR are very nice, I'm already glad they do double dipping at all.
In my experience they don't seem to bat an eye if you try to trade in two of the same copy. I just tell them my friend wanted me to trade the game in at GR for him.
I've never had a problem trading two copies of anything, in fact 1 day I traded two copies of 4 different games in the same trade. I told the GM who did the trade the truth, which is simply I hoard stuff I get cheap for later trades.

He smiled and completed the trade.

I'm just about double dipped out however, I traded 6 games on tuesday, and didn't get a single preorder. I have about 15-20 games on preorder, with quite a few duplicates of the same title. About once a month I return a game unopened for complete refund, so instant 55$ credit to my account.
Has anyone tried to preorder Burnout Revenge? I know it was just annouced, but maybe they have it in the system.
I tried and it's not in the system yet, they did have Battlefield 2 and Medal of Honour European something.

Well, I just picked up the last Echo Night at my EB...I wanted two of them, but oh well. I also picked up the ONLY $5.99 (non-sports) used game also.

I'll trade these in for Pariah :) Should only cost me what I spent at EB, about $16.

I traded in a copy Echo Nights to the Bloomfield Hills, MI GR and they did not give me any problems. I picked up 2 copies from two different EBs to trade in at the Farmington Hills GR, so hopefully they will still be taking copies this afternoon. I bet at the Arcadia store they had too many copies in the system, so thats why they were not taking it.

I picked up the last 2 copies of the Echo game at Collin Creek Mall's EB, one new and one used one for 9.99 and 7.99. Traded one in already.

Does anyone know if that xbox zombie game Stubbs: Rebel Without a Pulse is in the Gamerush system yet? I tried about a month ago with no luck.

How stingy are GR employees with games with scratches on the disc? I just bought a pre-owned game to trade in and there are some visible scratches on the disc....nothing horrible, but bad since I keep mine clean.

it depends on the employee, some might actually take in to the back and try it. If it runs they'll take it. Other times they just won't do anything and not take it.
