Current Trade-In Deals

Trade in 2 games, preorder any game for 29.99!! (July 19th - ??)

Restrictions and rules below:
Alright, I read the map today and here's some stuff on the new deal:

- As has been said, it starts on July 19th. I cannot remember offhand the date that it ends.

- Trade any 2 games, get any preorder for $29.99. I forgot to check if XBox 360 games are included in the deal, but as most people have already stated, I highly doubt it.

- The two games that are traded in for the deal must retail for at least $7.99 each (preowned price).

- The credit can still be applied towards the $29.99.

Rent unlimited games for a month. You can have one game (or 2 depending on the pass) out at a time and can return it whenever you want and switch it out as many times as you want.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter

2 out = $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.
When does the new deal happen where you get 25% off any used game?

And Forza did drop down to 24.99 used, right?
I think that starts tomorrow, as today is the last day of 25% bonus credit.
Can someone please post what deals are starting tuesday to replace these deals...

I think i remember something about 25% off used games or something like that, but i dont really want to hunt back through all these pages to find it.

THANKS!
It would be that all used games are 25% off their price and the trade 2 for $29.99 pre-order deal is still going on.
Just a quick note: Stubbs the Zombie for XBox is now listed in the Gamerush system.
Thanks for the tip. I've been asking about that one since May. I pre-ordered it today, so hopefully they'll actually get it in. I'm kind of worried that they won't since it isn't by one of the big publishers.
Someone type it up nice and I'll cut and paste it into the OP.

The preorder deal ends tommorrow too, right?
Nope, preorder is continuining indefinitely. Tomorrow:

25% additional credit on 3+ trades (retail $7.99+) ends (midnight 9/12)
25% off all used games begins (9/13)
Trade 2 (retail $7.99+) and preorder for $29.99 deal continues with as yet no end date.

Correct me if I screwed anything up.

Thanks for posting this, I didnt wanna dig for it. :) I was scared the trade 2 deal was ending today. I think i'm going to just hang on to the couple games i've got to trade and hope that they start including 360 games in the deal. I got one preordered with this deal but that was as soon as they put them in the system, they wont let me do anymore.

Traded some final games w/25% bonus:

RS:LD $40
NCAA 2006 $ 37.50
SC:pT - $7.50
Spiderman 2 PSP - $35

Great price, especially for RS/SC, since I got them in the deal together.

Now, I'm still holding onto a few games, hoping that 360 games are magically included in some deals.

Also, what does MK:KE trade in for? And, do you have to trade BOTH discs in? I might want to keep MK1

I know this is off topic but I want to know, where do you look to see how many posts you've made?

Nevermind, I found where to look.
is the GR deal 25% thing over tonight??? :(
Yes, and it's been stated numerous times over the past 3 pages.

I can't wait till tomorrow. My GR has a ton of copies of Feel the Magic XY/XX complete for $13.75 after the 25% off deal. I've been eyeing that game for a couple of weeks. Also, I've got my eye on a copy of RE0 there for $9.75 after the deal also. Two cool games I've been wanting for a total of $23.50. After that I've still got about $19 on my card, and Burnout: Revenge, Resident Evil 4 (PS2), and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance on preorder there. GR has done me good. :D Also, does anyone know when they get Burnout in for preorder pick-up? Thanks.
They also dropped the PSP trade in value to $60!!!
Holy shit. I thought you were kidding. Sure enough, $60 is the rate. Yesterday, it was $175 and I was almost considering it, being that I haven't touched the PSP since week 1 of launch.

A $115 drop for a PSP?! Holy shit....that sucks for those of you who waited to trade it in, waiting for, like 2 good games coming out for it. :p

I don't even know what I am waiting for, for the PSP. I guess the Hentai porn UMDs...Oh! A new 2d Ghouls and Ghosts looks kinda cool. =/
Also, does anyone know when they get Burnout in for preorder pick-up? Thanks.
My GR normally gets new preorders in on Wednesday. Sometimes, they have received preorders before that though.

I have 5 games to trade and a ds to trade. GR doesn't accept systems, so I wanted to know, where is the best place to trade?

GS has the extra 40% deal, but GR has the 25% deal.

I am probably trading in all of my games to GR, and then trading my system to GS. I hope I can get $72 for the DS after putting the money on XBOX 360 and getting an extra 20%, but I doubt it. I won't preorder games today though since there are no GC games I want, and first party xbox 360 games aren't $50 in the system yet

what are the order number for Mario Striker and Mario DDR again? The new guy at my GR gave me grip and saying oh normally we don't trade more than 1 ( i've been traind there for 2 years and know almost everyone there)... but this new guy somehow gave me grip about combining 25% and $29.99 preorder today, and he can't find Mario Striker and Mario DDR in their system... thanx for the number again .

anyone know how much you get for jade empire at gamerush?

I'm gonna be super ticked if that 25% deal ends tonight. The fat kid at gamerush told me I could only do 10 at a time and to bring the rest back tomorrow for the 25% deal so I just handed him 10 random games from my bag. If i knew it ended tomorrow I would have traded them all in

All trade-in prices are before the 25% bonus
Tekken 5 still fetches $30 WOW!!!
Street fighter anniversary XBOX $12.5
the bard's tale PS2 $13.5
Galleon Xbox $20.

I love GR. PSP trade-in for $60???, Must be a typo by corporate computer database guy. $160 is reasonable. Nobody will trad it in @GR for $60. I bet GS or EB defininate will give you over $150 for PSP.

I am trading These, hopefully I get this much:

DS-$72 (w/20% extra at GS for putting on xbox 360)
Lockdown-$40
Pandora Tomorrow-$7.50
Nintendogs-$15
Kirby-$22.50
Super Mario-$10
Total: $167.

Today's Trade in's with 25%

GBA - Prince Of Persia T.S.O.T. $ 1.50
PSP - Untold Legends Brotherhood... $27.50
XBX - Rainbow 6 Lockdown $40.00
CUB - StarFox: Assault $22.50

Preordered: XBX - Battlefield II and Blitz The League for $29 each.

They are in there but it requires the clerk to be somewhat clever - It is "Super Mario Strikers", so he needs to look under 'S'. And it is DDR Mario Mix (or maybe "Dance Dance..."), so have him look under 'D' for that one :D. I had trouble with Mario DDR but the clerk, who was friendly and helpful (it wasn't the kid who asked me all the questions) kept looking it up in different ways and finally found it.

I don't have the part numbers for those as they aren't on the printed sheets I got (not to mention those are 2500 miles away from me at the moment).

So is it true that all Blockbusters (save those in Florida for some reason) are taking game trades now? If I pick up some cheapies here (DC area) from TRU or Target I may just trade them here - why drag them home and have the new kid at GR ask me nosy questions about my games? :D.

I got $157 for the DS and games. I also cancelled my DS games, and found 2 $20 Blockbuster Giftcards that I found around my house.

Quick question on switching preorders--what is the exact policy regarding doing this?

I preordered Zelda Twilight Princess about 4 months ago using the 29.99 deal, and paid in full at the time I traded in my games to cover the cost of the preorder. I went into the Arcadia location where I made it and asked if I could switch it over to Burnout Legends since Zelda got pushed back. I have never switched before but I didn't think it would be a problem doing so. Sure enough, the employee working (James) said that he could only give me 29.99 credit towards the preorder of Burnout and i'd have to pay the difference. Mind you, I had the receipt in hand and everything.

What the hell is with that, first of all. They are both 49.99 MSRP, so what was the big deal with switching preorders--It's not like blockbuster is losing a single cent here, as I've already paid for Zelda anyway and just wanted to switch to a title coming out earlier.

Is this corporate policy, or was this guy just being a jerk?

He's being a jerk, I went in last week and traded my Zelda for Burnout Revenge and my 25 to Life for BF2:MC. They made me pay $10.xx because 25 to Life is only going to sell for $39.99 and Battlefield will be $49.99, I just paid it and chuckled you got me this time GR you got me this time........ Both of my preorders were from the trade 2 deal. It's pretty YMMV from reading these threads some stores are assholes and some are cool. I'd go back and talk to a manager or some higher up GR people who see you at the store all the time. They tend to take care of there regulars even if you are or were in my case a flipper. At least your giving them preorders which they like.

Man, I'd say you got a raw deal as well... If the original preorder was done using the trade-in deal, then you should be able to switch without cost. What they SHOULD do is give you $29.99 credit (and not $39.99 or $49.99) and then do a new preorder with the deal barcode (so it comes up to $29.99), but of course not requiring any more games traded in. This is what they have done for me in the past.

Shady, it sounds like what they did for you maybe was not to be jerks about it - but to be clueless about the preorder deal. Looks like they gave you $39.99 credit for the one cancellation and then charged $49.99 for the new game. So, it looks like you could get away with cancelling a preorder at your store and getting $39.99 or $49.99 credit (even though you only paid $29.99). The downside of this, of course, is what happened to you (having to pay the difference between the 2 games when switching). You should have just taken the $39.99 credit and then come back later with 2 more games to trade in and make another preorder for Battlefield. :D

Of course, this is all YMMV. Like I said, at my GR they try to return just $29.99 when you cancel - but they generally let you get another at the same price if you are switching.

So, can anyone confirm the 25% off pre-played deal today? And any answer about all BB taking trades now? I'll find out later in the week myself...

This James guy is obviously just confused because the official policy is that with preordering with the 29.99 deal if u decide to cancel the preorder and do not want to preorder another game you only get the 29.99 plus tax and the other two is forfeit. But if you are preordering another game you don't have to pay anything. He is probably just a game advisor or even a CSR. Regardless though game advisors or CSR's cant do the switch because of the limited power their employee id # has, so a manager would have to do it and he should be informed already of how the deal works and does not work.
Mann...i wish my house prodouced Blockbuster Giftcards too...
I got them as gifts around 18 months ago, and just found them around my house. At least I can pay off an extra XBOX 360 controller with that. ;)
So is the extra 25% still going on?
no. They replaced that with 25% off of used games.

A new thread is in order. If anyone won't step up, I can make one later today. (8 hours or so)

DEALS AS OF TODAY
25% additional credit on 3+ trades (retail $7.99+) ends (midnight 9/12)

25% off all used games begins (9/13)
Trade 2 (retail $7.99+) and preorder for $29.99 deal continues with as yet no end date.
It really is YMWV about switching trades now, i thought about doing what you said io but i only have a couple left to trade and i'm saving them for 360 games. Instead of messing with going and buying a few cheap games I just paid the $10. Its good to know though in the future i can trade a couple crap things in wait a minute then cancel for $50 credit, but my luck they'd change things by then. :)
deals as of today: (jacked it from 3 pages back forgot who i stole it from though...)

Post stealer! ;)

Well, since I missed out on getting some games to get my extra 25% on... considering just switching my Zelda preorder over to DDR: Mario Mix now, seeing as how thats out six months earlier. And if by some ridiculous incident no new preorder deals pop up (or cheap games to use with them) before then, I'll just actually buy Zelda for full price.
Post stealer! ;)
lol after i posted i went back and looked, i edited and seen this! LOL :booty:

Anyone get Burnout Revenge today? I'd call to see if it's in but then i'd get no sleep today and i gotta work tonight. :(
