yup, this seems to be nationwide. I mentioned it in the last gamerush thread and it looks like the deal is running for everyone else too. You can also buy them with your gamerush credit you get when you trade all your crap in.
 
has anyone got their Viewtiful joe DS from their GR yet? mind hasn't come in.. yet..

anyone know how much Mario party 7 trade in for?
 
Didn't get my Path of Neo, seems to be the same story as everyone else has reported, they had their rental copies in, but not the preorders.

This is a VERY big week for releases - not just in sheer number but in quality.

Mario Kart DS got a 9.5 from IGN:

No reviews yet for Shadow the Hedgehog or Pac-Man World 3 (though the latter will be the one out all of those games my son will want to play, so it will probably be the first one I open after Mario Kart).

Anyway, just a heads up if you want to get those last minute preorders in at GR. Definitely get Dragonquest VIII if you are into RPG's at all (and since it is a $50 game). I wish now that I had kept my Suikoden Tactics preorder (the first batch of reviews were bad but they have gotten better), but I'm sure I can get it cheaper later, and I wasn't going to play it in the next six months anyway :D. I think my next RPG will be DQ, and then I have to fit Fire Emblem in some time soon.

ya, mine got tons of them in. They got 1 copy of farcry but like 30 copies of GUN. And for some reason they still don't have the xbox version in for rent or preorder. I got sick of waiting and told them my xbox broke and asked if i could get the ps2 version instead.


I think I'm gonna go switch one of my preorders to Dragon Quest VIII today unless the manager that put a suspend on my account is there.
 
Man, I need to go find some 2, cheap, trade in fodder games so I can preorder DQVIII: JotCK. The demo was REALLY fun, and I don't have ANY RPGs to play right now besides ToS (GC) and Baten Kaitos (GC) and I haven't touched either of those in a looooong time. Hopefully I can fit in a preorder for DQVIII today or tomorrow, or else I'm missing out... and I really want that FFXII demo, too! :D

If you find any trade in fodder let the rest of us know. I need a few more games to trade in so I can preorder the last couple of things I want
 
Traded otogi 2 (9.50) and megaman anniversary (the unplayable gc version, 7.50)

pre-ordered dragon quest. heres hoping its not a typical boring ass turn based rpg. If it is, then let the bidding on my ff12 demo begin!
 
Viewtiful Joe IS out. I own it as well as a few others here. Iit as released a week early.

Aeon Flux (the game) comes out next week?
 
I was talking to one of the manager's bosses today and found out Gamerush is getting alot less xbox 360s than expected. I didn't find out anything more specific since I didn't preorder from Gamerush, and he just mentioned it when I asked about the arrival of 360 games. The good news though is he also said that some xbox 360 stuff will be arriving as early as tomorrow and through the rest of the week. I forgot to ask if customers would be able to pick 360 games and accessories up early, but that will probably be YMMV anyways.

its been communicated through the memos that only the rentals and hardware can not be sold till the 22nd everything else can so you should be able to

Half-Life 2 arrives for XBOX also....that got a high rating from IGN

I'm gonna be pretty damn pissed off if I don't get my 360. I made the guy check and make sure I was going to get a launch console before I put 100 down.


on a side note, anyone know if gamerush has phantasy star universe in their system?

I dont know about phantasy star but as far as the 360's go, gamerush will only be getting enough for the pre-sales. I would not worry about it since you have it reserved. (Got mine reserved there as well)

While I was in there today some guy came in and asked if they would have any "of those new xboxes when they come out" the blockbuster guy said they were only getting a few in and it was mostly employees who bought/pre-ordered them.

I believe every GR in Ohio only allowed 10 preorders for each store. I would doubt they would get less than that for a shipment but you never know.
 
So do you think the xbox 360 will arrive on time at GR or will the thread turn into its been a week and my GR still doesn't have my xbox 360 in. If they screw this one up they are just trying to put the nail in the coffin. On the other hand would it surprise any of us GR regulars.

I was going to pick the Mario Party 7 Gamecube bundle up and the 2 GR near me do not have them in yet. Figured it would take 10 days roughly for them to show up anyway with the current track record.

Just out of curiosity what GR in Ohio do you go to?


Also I just watched a video of Rogue Galaxy and it looks wicked awesome, anyone know if its in their systems?

One las thing, anyone know any good turn based RPG's coming out besides DQVIII. I'm kinda getting sick of all these action RPG's and want some classic gaming goodness.

It doesn't have a release date yet for America, so I highly doubt it.

that sucks, gamespot has december 2005 listed for it but I doubt it's coming out next month. I'll probably preorder something else so I can switch later, do you guys think it will still be possible to switch preorders once the trade 2 in preorder 1 for 29.99 is gone?
 
Dec 2005 is its japanese release date, there isnt even a US publisher for it thou it can easily be picked up by sony or Square-enix since its by Level 5 (same team that made Dragon Quest 8)

I think they'll get some in, but there's a possibility they might get cut short, as every other chain that took preorders did. So it might turn into a "Gamerush screwed me out of a 360 on launch day" thread.
 
My store is still saying they are getting everything in this week and all preorders are covered and that they'll be doing a midnight launch and stay open till 1am. I'm not buying one there because I was broke when they did the preorders and I didn't have enough store credit to cover it. Now I gotta camp for extras... ;)

I've got my fingers crossed that they do get the games in this week because my Mountain Dew system comes saturday and i've got all of my eggs except for one in GRs preorder basket. :roll: Given my stores track record i'm thinking i'm going to have to buy them somewhere else and then return the GR copies whenever I get them for my money back. I really hope this thread doesn't turn into a hate fest, GR seems to be walking that thin line all the time though.

Dead to Rights II still gets $20 (Xbox) and $16.50 (PS2).

I also saw something a little strange today. They had a new copy of Shining Soul for the GBA which is an Atlus title. That's the first non-used Atlus game I've ever seen at GameRush. Well, that's if you don't count Pro Fishing Challenge for Xbox which they rent.

Yeah, I found 7 copies at a Toys R Us this past weekend so I just finished spreading them out at a few different BB/GR.

Red Hot Rumble is already out, but we were talking DS.
If they got Double Trouble in at GR last week they sure didn't tell me when
I went to pick up my other stuff last Friday.

But then again, I didn't ask about it and I need to tell them everything I'm picking up (they don't ever have it ready to go). Need to make sure I get everything
when I go in on Saturday - I'll have to write up a list :D.

Edit: gizmogc, I just read in the VJ Best Buy thread that you were able to get the DS game early last week - but it really isn't supposed to be out till this week. Best Buy releasing stock from the back early is a fluke and certainly won't happen at GR, even if they were to get a game early :D.

I dumped my very last Xbox DTR2 for $20 today (Mon) at a BB WAY outside my
normal area (1000's of miles away). I didn't want to risk it at GR, as there are
some new employees there who always ask me how much I liked the games I'm trading.
Since I tend not to have played any of them, it makes for an akward moment -
especially if they notice me bringing the same game in again (which I don't think
they have so far!).

Has anyone actually done this deal? Every GR I know doesn't know anything about this deal. They didn't even seem to carry the GameCube Bundle sets at all.
 
Well the scheduled release date for the "BEST DS GAME OF THE YEAR" (IGN) Mario Kart is tomorow. Place your bets as to when you think gamerush will get it in, I'm gonna go with friday at the earliest.

Hey, no, its OUT everywhere. Ive seen copies at Game Crazy, Game Stop, and Target.The release date was bumped up a week (maybe since everything comes out this week). However, its $39.99 everywhere else.
