I've only been to that store once (during the trade 3, get 1 for $5). Nice store that had a large selection - just quite a ways away. Since I'm in the same area, I think I'll be stopping by my store tomorrow to make sure I won't have any issues. I'm supposed to be the first one on the list, but doesn't hurt to confirm.

Yeah, I use to go to another one that was further away (near Oviedo), but I am glad I switched. This store (Alafaya+Colonial) is pretty cool. The people that work there are fairly well informed. The only problem I have is the BB manager is a bit of an a-hole.

They were cool enough to let me preorder 5 Xbox360 games using the 2 for $30 deal, and even only paying $30 for the $60 titles. This was a while ago, and they now have a sign for their 2 for $30 deal saying it excludes Xbox360 titles (like most GR's).

Hopefully they don't tell you to go screw yourself on the 360 pre-orders like they did to me. Different location, though. Sounds like your place is a lot better run.

They won't/can't tell me to screw myself, as they were already all paid in full. Regardless, I've already picked up 3 out of the 5 I preordered.
 
Picked up Dragon Quest VIII, after they finally got it in.

All I need now is my 360 copies of Call of Duty 2 and Perfect Dark Zero. They should be getting them in soon, since the specialty games are starting to get them in. I actually saw PDZ for sale today at Gamestop. :O

My store still has nothing 360, the guy working tonight said they wont even get anything in untill the 19th and that nothing will be sold untill launch day. This guy was just a register jockey the normals weren't there but this is the same thing I was told yesterday from the next closest GR.

Things are not looking good in Northern KY as far as games from GR because i'm getting my system saturday morning. I guess i'm gonna have to buy my games somewhere else and then return my GR copies back there later on for a refund.
 
Just got off the phone with Plymouth, MI GR and they have GUN and Condemned already there. I forgot to ask about Call of Duty 2, but I bet they will have it. This is going to be so painful...to have the games yet no system until Tuesday 10am (FYE pre-order...thanks Drake!).
 
It was at my GR in Garden Grove but I picked up the X360 version of it and PGR3

My GR said now that they will be getting 8 X360's instead of the 20 they were expecting.

thats all I saw, no Kameo or PD0
 
I really hope they save my 360 pre-order (system and games). I really would like to pick up my games so I don't have to deal with getting 5-6 launch games along with the system Monday night/Tuesday morning.
 
Couple things...

Went to two different GR today and found overheard the head manager and one store saying that they would only be getting in 8 Premium 360's. Wen't to the other store and overheard another head manager conversation saying that they would indeed be getting in the 10 they preordered.

Strange that its not the same district wise.


I also inquired about a few trade-in values in leu of the upcomming TRU sale...

Cold Fear - $6
Dragon Ball Z Sagas - $10.75
FF Crystal Chronicles - $9.50
Splinter Cell: CT - $12
Time Splitters: FP - $12

Not as great as I hoped


On another note, DTR2 STILL gets $20 trade in for xbox... damn thats amazing.
 
I'm nervous now.....

I got the 10th preorder at my GR. I better get one on launch. I would of preordered sooner, but I was out of town when they started preorders (lucky me).

I am going to pass on Condemned for sure now. I might pass on Kameo too and then pick up both of them used since after the 25% off, Condemned is $41.25, and Kameo is $33.75. I save around $35 by doing that. I am getting Kameo for sure though.

They can't do it because they can't add money to a preorder without cancelling that preorder and redoing it; thus knocking you out of the line.

i am liking this thinking -- personally, i hope to game pass them first before buying but my will is weak while my credit is strong

they probably will never get them in. I checked at mine and he said the computer showed as none ordered. Me and my buddy both preordered it there so 2 should have been ordered. Same thing with Magna Carta.
 
My Gamerush "confirmed" they will be getting 10 360s....but they are not sure about the midnight opening even though last week they said they would. (Not sure this affects any other CAGs, I believe myself and 9 employees preordered)

That's funny because most of those 9 employees aren't even working there any more :D. Well, you ought to be first on the list so I'm sure you are safe. Really, though, I know at least one more is not an employee because I asked about the preorders way back and they had one more slot but had a bunch of people to call for it. They ended up filling it before they got to me... No biggie, I didn't really want one anyway.

On other news, I know most of you probably don't care about Shadow the Hedgehog, but the game review sites are PISSING me off. Check out these Shadow the Hedgehog reviews:

Of course, all the preview writeups about this game made it sound very promising. Why couldn't they get these reviews out a little earlier, or at least not write fluff pieces on their advance looks? I think they *always* say good things about advance looks so that they don't get cut off :D. I could have cancelled/switched my preorder had I had some advance warning. Oh well, I might take my chances with a return and hope I get $49.99. I'm picking up 4 or 5 other things at the time, so maybe it will all be too confusing to them :D.
 
my store is only getting one PD LE and I pre-ordered it. I better get it or I will be pissed as all hell. They alrerady screwed me out of a 360 system, I may the reason for security concerns at mine. :lol:

Checked my Xbox 360 pre-order, they had my name on the list and confirmed I'd be getting one...I didn't ask, but it seemed to imply they weren't getting all ten, or whatever.

Oh and still no Path of Neo. Did ANYBODY get this?

Where i'm at it used to be easy to do a return and get $49.99 in credit. Same thing when trying to switch preorders. Now it seems the system makes a note on my recipt saying that I only paid $30 when they deliver a game.

On a more positive note, I found a GR that is doing 360 preorders for 39.99 so thats a bonus.

Look, I didn't expect it to be game of the year, but I expected scores in the 6-7 range - at least on the level of a Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. Not 4-5, in the range of classics like Universal Theme Park Adventure, Disney's Hide & Seek, Scooby Doo Mystery Mayhem, or Scorpion King :D. I mean, Pac-Man World 3 which I preordered at EB (to get the T-shirt) I thought would be pretty bad and even that scored a 69 from IGN. I probably wouldn't have bothered with Shadow but my son is having a blast with Sonic Adventure (I bought it at the CC $5 glitch sale prety much exactly a year ago and just gave it to him a few weeks ago), so I thought he might like it. There are a stack of better games for him to play first now though...

I'm just venting because all the advance press I read on it prior to dropping the preorder contained no dire warnings of it being that bad. But like I said, I think they almost always say good things about games they get sneak peaks of so that they will continue to get previews from the publishers.

Looks like I could ebay it for $40. That would probably be better than getting $50 in credit back from GR anyway. Maybe I'll just do that - it will help pay for some of the other great games I'm picking up tomorrow... Or maybe, just this once, GR will screw up my preorder and not get it and I can switch it to something else. I can hope, anyway :D.
 
I think this is an error on their website. But the trade in value for a GBA SP is $70and the Playgear Pocket is $160!

I called my local GR, they said they couldnt find the Playgear Pocket in their price system. So, no luck at my store i guess.

Anyone go to a gamerush to verify this?

io, you are right on the mark with this. Lately all the games that are coming out soon are previewed like they are going to be good to great games. Shadow was getting decent previews, but it comes out to a 4.9? I mean that says to me that the reviewers/previewers are either being paided by the gaming company or they just want to hype a game up. After E3 they made it seem like True Crime 2 was going to be a vast improvement, but of course it gets rated lower than the original.

This is why I wish that GR would be much more willing about changing pre-orders. Now I am stuck with a copy of True Crime 2, because they refused to change my pre-order (I went to get Fire Emblem, but since it was not on the list, I could not pre-order it (Brighton, MI GR...worst...one...evar)).
 
Anyone know what Madden 06 (XBOX) gets? I'm going to trade in Monday since I'll be getting the 360 version. I may also unload MVP 2005. So either price would be good :)

Now, do I pre-order something, or just get credit.

the www.gamerush.com website says gba sp hardware gets 70 in credit. anyone try to trade one in yet. if this is true, i might just trade mine in for a ds bundle. *also, ps2 hardware was listed at 90 for trade in.*

edit: they dont have the mario party 7 gamecube bundle in yet. grrrr.
 
I already posted about the GBA SP.

Anyone find out yet if the Playgear Pocket trades for $160? Im plannin on going to GR in a few hours just in case the girl over the phone didnt know what she was doing (which is very normal)

I just saw Harry Potter, and it was probably the worst one in the series. It wasn't bad, just not as good. :sad:

Just got a call from GameRush. My store is only getting in a small portion of the ordered systems, so I need to wait a week until I get mine. Not the end of the world, but I am dissapointed. If I can find some launch games I want used at GR, the 1 week wait will be worth it.
 
I just got a call too explaining the same situation. Luckily I was the first one to preorder, so I'll be at the midnight launch to pick up mine. Can't wait to play the rest of Call of Duty 360...

Just came back from there, the playgear thing is a typo, so is the $70 for GBA SP (its $70 for the micro, not SP)

And i didnt see Guitar hero there.
 
Was playing 360 at a target by my gamerush today...boy am I glad I didn't pre-order. The call of duty 2 demo made me think that there was secretly an original xbox inside the 360 case, the graphics were nothing to write home about. The jaggies in Kameo made me wonder if it was in fact a ps2 inside there. Not to mention that all the ports from this generation seem to actually be worse on the 360. Congratulations microsoft, worst. launch. ever. Unless of course, perfect dark is sweet and that can save it.

LOL $160 for a $20 case!? I was wondering WTF a Playgear was and why I hadn't heard of it. :lol:


It's official my GR has my 360 games and won't let me have them untill midnight on the 22nd!:bomb: The GR up the road that I didn't preorder from has all the games for sale but of course by the time I'd gotten there they had sold the only extra copy of Madden the only game I didn't preorder at the other GR. They had no controllers for sale just the remote and a couple faceplates. Looks like I'll be heading back to Walmart and Target in the morning to spend more money on stuff i've already got paid for.... :cry:
 
It's ironic. When I traded in my PSP last week, I tried trading in all of my accessories as well. One of the accessories was the Playgear, and they wouldn't accept it because it wasn't in the computer. Talk about a turnaround!
