Local store had a bunch of 360 accessories yesterday. I picked up a wireless controller and a wireless USB adapter. I finally did the math and now I realize I made out like a bandit on all my 360 stuff.

Xbox 360 and 2 games from Mountain Dew $0
PD0 for $10 (1 copy of D2R2 + filler)
Wireless Router $0 (BBB stamps + envelopes - rebate = free)
Wireless USB Adapter $28 (4 copies of D2R2)
3 wireless controllers $54 (BBB stamps + envelopes, 2 copies of D2R2)
2 play and charge kits $18 (BBB stamps +envelopes)

$920 retail value only cost me $110 and roughly 6 hours of my time.

So, yet again weird service from GR. I'm sure some of you preordered Quake 4, before it was announced as a 360 only title. So I figured hey, they will have to give the 360 version to me.

Well as usual, different service at different stores, They knew about my preorder, because when I walked in and mentioned to the games guy that he should pull the game, he's like "You ordered the xbox version". Of course he knew that there was no longer an xbox version, so up comes the manager, who if you have followed my posts over the years is my biggest fan. NOT!! So now I have a choice, fight with this stubborn SOB, which I knew would lead to me calling her DM (who is new), or offering her a way out so we can both save face. So I go, I guess I will need to pay the extra 10$, "No you only paid 30$, and you can't preorder xbox 360 games"... So again, do I argue or do I offer her plan B, well lucky her, because I'm selling my 360, I went with plan B. Which was can I just change it to another xbox game. To my shock she agreed, this is unusual behaviour for her, as she has refused to do this for me a number of times before.

So no Quake, but I did get King Kong (I know it's better on 360, but I don't have HD)

Anyone manage to actually pick this up on preorder ?
 
The $8.99 copies of Nightmare of Druaga and D2R2 were mucking me at Media Play. Since I had $40 in store credit at Media Play I figured might as well. They still get $19 and $20.

EDIT: If they ban me oh well...

I saw a strategy guide for the game at one of my local GR stores. I haven't bothered to look for the game since it's second rate, as expect.

Whats up with GR requiring that you use a major credit card to rent 360 games. Its not like they are that rare and everyone is going to steal them...

I was able to upgrade it to the 360 version for $10. When she pulled up my account as I was picking up my 360, she asked what I wanted to do with it. I just asked for the 360, and she said she could credit me $50 and apply it towards the other version.

LOL I bitched about the same thing about two pages back, just sign up for Gamefly. 2 month deal 2 games out at a time for $22, you gotta get the prepaid thing from BestBuy.com or B&M though.



If you still need a 360 keep an eye out at GR! My friend got one in Newport KY today, he wasn't on any preorder list he just had been going every day since tuesday and waiting for their daily deliveries to see if they got a 360 in. Today they got some in and had 1 extra premium after covering the preorders and he bought it. My GR got 2 cores in today and they are on hold for people on the preorder list.

My store has in or has had in all the accessories except for a hard drive. I got a play and charge kit today, the energizers the premium comes with died this morning, i've had my system since saturday so not even a week.
 
I signed up for gamefly a while back, it was too slow for my taste. Plus i only used it to rent PSP games, and since you can just download them now, or rent at blockbuster, i dont really need it.

I canceled my gamepass at GR a few weeks ago just because i havent been going as often. Ill probably start it back up again once my Xbox 360 comes in from gamestop (hopefully within the next 5 months) or if find one in a store.

I got a call from my GR store in cinci today as well asking if I wanted to switch my preorder to a core (10th on the list out of 10). Hopefully they will get a few more premiums in the next couple weeks.


On a side note, has anyone tried the $29.99 preorder deal lately. I did it the day after the 360 launch and they did it, but i'm not sure if they have gotten rid of it for good now. I would check myself but I am in Colorado for the holiday and they are senza GR here. (Would explain why the TRU i went to was stock full of DTR2 and Nightmare of Druaga as well as a bunch of other GR trade friendly titles)

given, the new 39.99 price on all games, the pre-order deal seems pretty obsolete especially given the inevitible big dip in trade prices

Well I got super lucky today. My gamerush was going to make me pay the 20 dollar difference on my 360 preorders even after they gave me the deal (which is bullshit) but i broke down and went to pick up perfect dark zero today. The girl went and got the game except it was special edition, I didn't even care i was ready to pay 30 for it. The whole time the guy kept telling her I had to pay the difference. Well since I didn't actually preorder the special edition she couldnt deliver it so she gave me a prepaid credit instead and she gave me a 52 dollar credit.

So instead of paying 20 bucks for regular PD0 I got the special edition of PD0 for 10 bucks. I was pretty happy. Now when they get kameo in I'll just have to make sure I get the same girl and I'll probably get it for free like I should anyways.

Oh and also they shafted me on the 360. Me and my little brother both preordered one and since my blockbuster card was still at my old address(my parents) and my brothers cards address was at my parents they said they could only give out one 360 per household EVEN though they let us both preorder them. I told them I didn't live there anymore and they didn't care. And they would only give us a refund on the other 360 in store credit. I told them to kiss my ass because that wasn't fair at all. Gamerush is full of assholes. I will never shop there again, all I will ever do is pick up my preorders that have already been placed and paid for.

My Gamerush is full of nice people. I never had any trouble with them. Maybe you should go to a different Gamerush.

this gamerush is about 2 minutes away. The next nearest one is about 45 minutes away. It's not just the employees, gamerush policies and preorder tendencies are all crap too. I still haven't gotten magna carta or wild arms alter code F and I never will.

LOL reminds me of when I lived at home at would run my parents old shop at the flea market. THis guy across the aisle would always sell something I cant remember what now but it was a good seller for him for $1.50 each or 3 for $5. He even had a sign up showing the price and people would buy 3 all day long and give him $5 without thinking about it. LOL he would always laugh about it maybe 7/10 times people would just pay the extra. :roll:

They better not have sold one to a walk in! I'm on the hold list and was supposed to be called. I'm calling Mark, the Gamerush Manager and finding out whats up with this!

Edit:Just got off the phone with them. They only got 3 cores into Newport, no Premium Systems. Plus they still have 3 employee preorders which haven't been filled. Not trying to be an ass, just been waiting on mine and would have been pissed if they sold to a walk-in

Well all I know is my friend got a system yesterday (from somewhere) and he said he got it at GR. He's been watching for the delivery truck everyday at the Newport store so I just assumed it was that store but I never actually asked which GR. I just looked at his card and the last game he played is Bejeweled 2 so he has a premium or bought a HD and a core. I have no clue now...... I know I was at the Florence store and they only got 2 cores in, and I know of at least 1 employee holding out for a premium there.

My GR recevie both the regular and LE edition the day before launch...with no pre-orders. However my pre-ordered Kameo didn't even arrive till launch day. Go figure.

they never cancel your order it just stays there till you do something about it. GR is terrible about getting preorders in.

They are not TERRIBLE. Just a few games seem to get delayed for some reason....I think it happened to me twice out of about 30+ pre-orders. So, if TWICE is terrible, then so be it.

Does anyone know what BLITZ:The League gets? I just traded for it, but now that I have a 360, I'm not sure if it's BC.

No Viewtiful Joe Double Trouble in at my GR yet. Unlike with Mario Kart, which they got (but sold my copy to someone else), they say they haven't even gotten this in yet. Anyone else see VJ DS at their GR? They are offering to give me a "credit" if it doesn't come in this week. That "credit" had better be for the $34.99 so I can use it on another equivalent DS game... Or maybe they'll let me switch it to another preorder if I can find one I want.

They better get Mario & Luigi in next week...

io same here.. no viewtiful joe DS also..... i kinda want to ask them to give me sonicrush but JOe is $5 more though :( i hope they get it soon.....

I don't know about you but when I preorder a game I do it because it means im garunteed a copy on the day it comes out. Out of 8 preorders I have gotten one the day it came out, 2 the week they came out, 3 of them at least a week late. and two of them are never going to come in it seems. I call that terrible service.
