It wouldn't get $27 in credit if the used price was $19.99... Gamerush just splits the used price by half to get the trade-in price usually.

But I know others on this thread have bought it and they should be able to answer. I still need to know what you might want in exchange for PoP and FMA2.

^^^^ Well let's all not forget that it might be dropping tomorrow and in that case both deals will be bad :D. In particular, I wouldn't go off ordering any online right now. Has anyone else been able to confirm the $19.99 used sale price for Red Ninja? If that wasn't just a fluke or misprice at a particular store, then it is a guarantee the buy back price will drop tomorrow.

I don't particulatly care as I've been done with that for a while, just don't want anyone here to get burned.

I just want to know if the original Prince of Persia for GC has normal wrapping or the cheapo shrinkwrap, and what spamfree wants in trade for it :D.
 
Walmart sells red ninja for just under $10 on thier site (OOS) so it might be $10 instore if you can find some.
 
Yeah, I'd hold off on buying anymore Red Ninjas unless you are going to trade them in tonight. I wouldn't buy a bunch online when there is the possibility of this thing plummeting in value tomorrow.
 
A small correction to the list: "Playboy: The Mansion" (PS2) rings up at $20 after 50% off and NOT $10, even after the cashier hits total (initially rings up at $40). The Xbox version rings up at $10 though. Seems strange that one version is cheaper than the other.

I finally found "The Guy Game" (Xbox) at a Blockbuster of all places. They had one left and Playboy for both systems if anybody needs either one, let me know.
 
Was "The Guy Game" banned from ebay? Whenever I used to bid on one, ebay would always cancel the auction saying it violated ebay policies and when I search for it people have it listed under different but similar sounding names. Seems unlikely that ebay would ban any game, so was wondering if anybody knew what was going on.

Yes, it has been banned, which is why the 2 PS2 copies are still sitting unclaimed at my GR :D. I thought it might be a good GR credit -> cash conversion game but when I searched ebay there was nothing and then I remember back a ways hearing that it was banned (because of a lawsuit relating to girl shown in the game - they didn't have her permission or something?? Anyone else remember??).

I didn't think it would be listed under different names - I'll have to take a look. Probably not worth the trouble. But if anyone wants to trade for it let me know. Like I said earlier, I'll be a bit embarassed buying it since they know me so well - but I'll just be honest and say it for trading to a "friend" who lives near another GR. Honest enough, anyway! Though they will probably laugh after I leave and think I wanted it for myself :D. Honesty is no good if they don't believe you anyway.

First you need to verify that they totalled it (which it sounds like he did but you never know for sure).

However, the sale games DO NOT vary by store as far as I can tell. What varies is which games they THINK are on sale and thus tag with blue stickers and put in the clearance section. If you bring up a game in that section that is not automatically part of the sale they will generally manually adjust it (as they did for me on Full Metal Alchemist 1). I think the copies people have seen of Kinetic and Play 2 are probably just misplaced - no one has verified that they bought these and they automatically rang up 50% off. If that happens then I'm wrong and the actual computerized sale prices do vary, because Eye Toy Play 2 rang up $49.99 for me the other day - and I'm pretty sure he totalled it.

But otherwise, EVERY game that has been verified on the sale list (and accessories like 1 GB Pro Duo's, used PS2 memory cards, etc) that I have found buried in the stacks or shelves at my store has, without fail, rang up on sale - so that's why I'm inclined to think the list is national. My store only has about 2/3 of it's sale stuff marked. They do nothing locally to their own computer system for the sale - it was all automatically set up for them (via download?), thus again indicating a single nation-wide list (individual store lists only varied based on what they happened to have in stock at the time).

EyeToy Groove and EyeToy Play (1) with camera are part of the national sale, thus maybe some stores just mixed in all the EyeToy games by mistake.

Another thing for the Florida folks - is anyone else seeing that they are trying to get trades done faster? At both stores, all they did was scan my card, check my license, asked where I worked, and got my signatures and thumbprint. Both said they would fill out the rest so that I didn't have to wait. When I did a trade last week at a third store, they did the same thing.

I wonder if perhaps they are recognizing that it's a hassle to trade compared to other stores, and they have been trained to speed it up? Or is this just a coincidence/limited to this one region? I was thrown off to begin with, since the first store actually used the GameRush register for the first time in all the times I've been in there. I was already in alien territory and was concerned pod people were afoot. I got the impression that someone in regional management figured out the basics of running a game store.

she was 17 when the video was taken.. she never gave the permission to have her nude video on the game but she couldn't give permission since she was underage anyway

I thought it was an underage issue. But the game has only been banned for sale on eBay as far as I know (and maybe other stores like Walmart, etc, pulled it voluntarily). But you'd think if there was actually something illegal in it (as this sounds) then it wouldn't be sold at Fry's or GR, where it has been sitting for several months now... Very strange.

Edit - OK, maybe it hasn't been banned on ebay???

I posted a few days ago that one store did this for me last week... however, it was only 1 store out of 5, but it really was a conveinence.

Only Florida stores have to fill out all that garbage to begin with.
 
I thought the difference in trade-in prices for Red Ninja was the PS2 was a lot less than the XBOX so maybe the employee was thinking of the PS2 version. I guess we'll find out on Tuesday.
 
when I trade games in if I get the manager, all he does is ask for my id, the name on the account(im under 18 so its in my moms name) and then he just scans the games, doesn't even tell me the prices until he prints the receiept, I sign something, and If I'm buying something else he rings those up, if not I'm in and out in 3 or 4 minutes at most less than 10 even if theres a line.
 
I got offered $10 trade-in on my last Red Ninja at the Gulf-to-Bay location in Clearwater tonight. I didn't have time to go to another location, and I only spent $7.50 on them, so I just took it. I assume that the price is dropping tomorrow anyway.

That's not the first time that a local GR offered me less than the going rate for a game, and it was a manager who helped me both times it happened. The first time was with Romance of the three Kingdoms X at the 9th Street location back in January, when I was also offered $10 instead of $27. Both times the manager pulled up and looked over my trade history before scanning my games, and in both cases I had traded only one copy of the game there previously. Both managers were friendly, and neither made any comments about my trades when they looked at my history. Do managers have some ability to alter the amount they give on trades?

I'll do actual cost + shipping ... Maybe tack on a $1 buck for gas. I think that's fair. Unless you have something on my want list.

If I hadn't just traded in 2 copies, I probably would have bought the 2, walked out, and walked back in and made an extra $14 in credit. I called GR today...it's definately over for Red Ninja. On another note if you can find the LE Call of Duty 2: The Big Red One at BB for $20, $15 after GGC or $5 off Reward Zone coupon, the trade-in for both PS2 and XBOX is $30.
