yet, it appears that the last "deal" is Viva Pinata for $4.99.

Not a bad price I guess, just think they could have chosen a more recent or hard to find title.

This was in the $6 bin at Big Lots over a year ago.

I was so hoping they would put Gears of War on download and offer it as the last deal.

Still trying to find a decently priced new copy of that one.

Not a bad deal at all. Though if you have an Xbox 360 you're probably better off just spending the extra money on the Trouble in Paradise game.

Also, the boxed copy of the original GFW Viva Pinata is $10 on Amazon if anyone is interested.
How was the PC port of this?
I remember a lot of people had trouble running the game when it came out. The requirements were needlessly high. I don't know if it still runs like crap on newer machines, but you're probably safe.
Haven't bought a GFW game yet...can you install the game on 2 PC's or just one?
As many as you want, at least with this game.

I'm tempted to pick this up for my laptop but I have not messed with the Games On Demand stuff. Do you need to be online to play these on demand games or can they be played while your offline? This would be a good "stuck at the airport" game.

Some pretty bad reviews of the PC port..... lots of people with problems when released as mentioned, but there even some more recent ones with issues getting it to run. I have a brand new laptop, so I would think I'm ok...

Just 5 bucks though....

I wonder if there's a demo.
I want it just because it's cheap and I would think mouse controls would make it so much better.

If you go to the Viva Pinata page on the gfwl marketplace, there is a demo there that you can download.

The big question remains. For those that have played it, is it fun?

Additionally, I'm not even sure what type of game it is. Is it just a pet sim or something?

It is fun and hugely time-consuming if you get into it. If you have the 360 achievements complete, can you get them again on the GFW version?

It's pretty fun for a while at least. I bought Trouble in Paradise when it came out because I had played the first for about an hour. The best way to describe it is that you're farming the Pinatas and trying to make/lure bigger and better pinatas to your garden.

It's super addicting, really fun, but also kinda hard to describe. You have to build a garden, depending on the plants you have in it, it will get attention from certain creatures, once in your garden, they can become yours if you meet certain requirements, have X amount of plants, have _____ pinata...etc. You then go on to mate certain pinatas, use them to feed others...it's more fun than it sounds. Try the demo.

I was wondering the same thing, so I looked it up at the Xbox360Achievements.org forums.
Actually the achivement list is the same, but separate, giving you the chance to have 2000 GS for Viva Pinata.
So, yes, you can get the achievements again. For $5, I may (if my computer can handle it and especially if it's easier to control with a mouse & keyboard). After maxing out the achievements for the 360 version, I really had no incentive to keep playing, although I wanted a reason to keep playing. A new set of achievements may be that motivation I need to start up a new garden.

The DRM on their other stuff is SecuROM.
I hate it.
I got BatmanAA when all this sale stuff started and it will not run from the shortcut on the desktop, it just errors out and says SecuROM cannot run. I have to log into the marketplace and then when I get that running, log into the game again.
And Oh yea..... IT HAS TO AUTHENTICATE ONLINE WHEN EVER YOU PLAY!
You have to be signed into your Live account and that authenticates it through SecuROM.
So, no "well my internet is down so I will just play some Batman..."
More like "well....... $#!T"

Just a heads up. some big lots still have copies of this game for either $4 or $6. Plus, most of the boxed copies come with a free month of xbox live as a hold over from when gfwl was still a pay service. :)

I downloaded the demo a while ago. It ran perfectly on my Intel Core 2 Duo e6600 / nVidia 9800 GTX+. Definitely looked like 60+ FPS, though I didn't check it specifically.
