I remember hearing that this was Vista only but in the new EGM I thought I saw something saying the new update will work with XP now also. I have Live on the Xbox and I know that all you have to do is have Gold on one and you get both. So what do I need to do to get it on my PC? I tried to find a download or anything to set up for the account and found nothing.
 
The big problem with GFWLive is that it only works within the games that support it. It's like Xbox Live on the first Xbox. You start a game and then log on to Xbox Live.

They need a Steam/Messenger style program that you can use to login to your account and then hop from game to game with your friends.

Also, I think the only games that support GFWLive are Vista only games (Halo 2 and Shadowrun) but Gears of War is coming and I think World in Conflict might be GFWLive enabled on XP.
 
live enabled games that are coming soon are Gears Of War, Viva Pinata, Kane & Lynch, Juiced 2 pc and The Club. basically if u have one of these games (or shadowrun , halo2 vista) then u can log into ur live account and play
 
Is it correct to say that GFWL is a poor man's Steam? Of course comparing it to Steam might be giving it too much credit :p

I would say it is XBL's Retarted Step Brother.
 
I'd say its a waste of time seeing how it'll be little more than a glorified Quick Join button with a friends list.
 
While it is clumsy, it's not bad for talking to XBOX 360 owners. But you can't talk to them because they cant be in the same game...
