Games to play with my dad

my dad has been wanting to play with me latley he was a big NES player and not that good with the controller so if theres any games it would help

Co-op wise or anything?

Offhand ones I can think of with pretty simple control schemes are Rock Band (form a band with him), Beautiful Katamari, Ultimate Genesis Collection. any of the Lego games or have him try Portal. That or can go easy route and just get some XBLA games like Bionic Commando, Braid, Castle Crashers, Rez and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles remake later this month.

Do you play sports & sports games? When I was young, my friends dad would play them with us after we played some actual hoops.

Ultimate Genesis Collection and some XBLA games like Bionic Commando, Castle Crashers, TMNT, Peggle ect.

go with some sports games. madden and tiger woods come to mind.

Gears of War 2, turn the language and or gore settings if your folks don't like that stuff.

I would suggest Halo 3, since it has a really good co-op mode, but if he is inexperienced with FPS on a dual analog setup, he might have trouble.
