Gamesave transfer question

is it at all possible to transfer my PS2 memory card saves onto a usb drive or S card or Pro Duo, and then transfer them onto the PS3? It looks as if the only way to get PS2 saves onto the PS3 is with that stupid 15$ cable, but I was going to sell my PS2 to someone now, and get a PS3 in a week or so...

Well you wont be able to convert you date to usb drive unless you also have codebreaker/action replay. I think a CAGer was nice enough to ofter to converter your codebreaker formant into PS3 formant for free.
