Gamescom is taking place August 21st through the 25th. Sony will be announcing some new Vita titles. What is everyone hoping for? Any specific titles or series you'd like to see come to the Vita?

I'm currently interested in what Sony Bend is working on. Hopefully they bring it.

EDIT: Sony's presser will supposedly be on the 20th. Sweet!

I too am hoping for something big from Bend. Whether taking on another established Sony franchise and bringing a new entry of it to the Vita..or another new Uncharted title..either of those would make me ecstatic.

I am in the minority here, but I really like all the HD ports coming to the system and hope to see more of those announced. I would also like to see more JRPGs and SRPGs announced, whether they be ports or original titles.

Price drop is the most important announcement to make. Both the console and memory cards.

After that I'd think a new GTA game. And, lots and lots more good Indies. :) Throw in lots more AAA titles to make the Indie-alergic happy, though. :)

A price drop for both the handheld AND memory cards is priority #1, IMO. A GTA game would be killer for the Vita, as would a new Uncharted. I too am really enjoying these HD remakes as well, especially for games I didn't get a chance to play previously on the PS2 or PS3.

I like the HD ports as well, I'm currently playing Metal Gear Solid 3 on the Vita. I just want quality ones, I was upset the Jak & Daxter one had issues as I've never played any of those games.

Remember that Sony's official presser is the 20th. Day before gamescom.

Edit: just saw your edit, lol.

I have played half of the first one and thought the issues were a little overblown.

I've noticed the Vita will be on sale for $200 the week of Gamescom, hopefully this will be a big push to get things rolling. I've had it since launch and haven't been disappointed at all but I want to see the system really start taking off.

Ha, I just keep agreeing it seems like but I feel the same way. Unbelievable hardware and a lot of games I like, but I want to see it continue to grow so it has a healthy future.

I wouldn't be surprised if they announced a new Gran Turismo game for the PS Vita. It could definitely use a new, good racer.

More JRPGs, SRPGs, side scrollers, and monster hunter type games. I will be happy then.
Don't forget Toukiden is still coming. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a NA trailer and release date at Gamescom.

I know they mentioned it at E3 but I'd like to actually see Dead Nation up and running on the Vita. I'd like to see them take more of an approach like that with older PSN games. The Last Guy would be awesome on the Vita.

Yes, but I want more. ;) I don't think I would ever get bored of the games I listed above, lol. (Although I would definitely build a massive backlog in the time it takes me to complete said games, lol.)

After playing (trying to play) Wipeout, I can't get to excited about any (traditional) racing game on Vita. Trying to steer with those tiny sticks is an exercise in frustration. At least it is for me. Maybe that's just Wipeout though. I'll need a demo to try before I actually buy a racing game, though.

I hope they announce a release date for Phantasy Star Online 2 (US). The sole reason I got a Vita was to play this game.
If they don't announce anything about PSO2 at Gamescom, there's a chance you might see something at TGS.

I want more info on Freedom Wars and if it will be released outside of Japan. But I'm not expecting anything about that till TGS as well.

When it comes to studios, I wanna see what Bend, Double Eleven, and Sony London are all up to.

Sony is going to livestream their presser next Tuesday. Here's the link. There's also going to be panel discussion afterwards that will also be livestreamed. More info is here on the EU PS Blog.

It roughly starts at 10 AM PST/12 PM CDT/1 PM EDT

Thanks for this.

I lost my Vita a few months ago. I will eventually replace it but the big announcement for me isn't really about the price or the games created solely for the Vita, like everyone else above my post. For me, I want them to stick to what they said about making all PS4 games compatible on the Vita, and for them to showcase that at this event.

Outside of that, I would love to see some mmorpg type games or tactical rpg's like wasteland 2 and shadow run. Games that are more adult like in their design than a Disgea game.

GAMES!!! Well let me rephrase that....WESTERN GAMES!!!! Seems like there are 10 JRPGs for ever western game. Would love a western RPG actually or some action/adventure games. Hope Sony does not disappoint

LittleBigPlanet Karting Vita Port (I can dream), more PSP games coming to the Vita store, more PS1 classics coming to the Vita store, Twisted Metal PS Vita (I know it won't happen), and a Vita/memory card price drop. Memory card price drop cause my 16g is filled (damn you 3g Sly Cooper), and Vita cause I think it'll start selling better and get more interest if it's cheaper. I want the Vita to succeed, and it seems like a price drop will draw more customers which will draw more developers.

Nah idk but I can't never get into LBP, Im more keen on games like shooter, anyone played Infected on PSP? Was damn fun. TBS like Valkyria Chronicle, SWAT. Would it hurt to get a new GoW Portable title? Both PSP titles were superior. And definitely more love to localized titles from JP, they would sell well in West.

LBP Karting was easy for me to get into since I love Mario Kart, and basically that's how I played it. While I love the LBP games, I don't really get into the user-created stuff, I just play the game as the platformer/karting game it is.

I almost said I wanted a God of War game, but I kind of don't (unless they want to release God of War: Betrayl as a PS Mini game :D). I would be thrilled if they announced one, and I'm sure I'd get it if it was on the PSN (I might even buy it retail), but honeslty I played both of the PSP God of War games on the PS3, and even though the PSP games looked awful on the PS3, I'm not sure I'd enjoy playing a God of War title on a handheld. Though, I will say, I would be thrilled to see that they're not giving up the franchise. God of War: Ascension made me worried that they painted themselves into a corner with 3 and were doing one last hurrah. I really hope that's not the case, even if the only option is to do stories that come in between the other stories.

I wouldn't mind a Bioshock for the PS Vita, re: shooters (Bioshock is a FPS right?) but TBH I don't want it to be Bioshock Infinite. I'd like one that was made for the Vita. I know for many (myself included) it's good to have the option for both systems, and I know not everyone has a PS3, and I know some people prefer the handheld, but I have to say that for purely selfish reasons, I hope that a BIoshock announcement would be something made specifically for the Vita.

Infamous for the Vita would be cool too. I haven't played Infamous 2 (even though I have it cause of PS+) because I haven't played Infamous, and while I'm not going to change my point of view on that, I'd probably play a PS Vita Infamous even if I hadn't played any of the PS3 ones.

Just saw a article Joystiq did on OlliOlli and it has me hoping we'll see more from the game at Gamescom. I've been craving a good skateboard game for a while now and this may hold me over until EA finally decides to make another Skate game (Which I hope also comes to the Vita!)

GTA and inFamous games for Vita would be nice.

Also, a 64 gig memory card, deleting stuff off my 32 gig is getting old.

I would love to see PS2 classics made available for the system. Either that or a GTA collection on the system.

There's still a place near and dear to my heart for Tony Hawk 4 (I think it was).

Bring on the 20th!

I don't get my hope high for Vita this time, cuz Sony gonna promote PS4 heavily as fck, since E3 there wasn't basically any new game announced except Pets??? If Gamescom doesn't prove it, then only Tokyo Game Show- TGS can make it right for Vita. With that different regions issue Im looking for Sony allowing us to have multiple accounts on Vita.

Price Drop On Hardware (well not for me I already have one)

Price Drop On Memory Cards

New Software....not ports....not spinoffs

a use for the mystery port

also I wish they would bring the different color Vitas to the west

Ports, spin-offs, and remasters are fine if they are games people actually want. Felt I should mention this since a lot of people complain that the PSV keeps getting ports.

yeah but thats not going to get the psv moving units......I have over 25 games for my vita and some are ports....however at a press event....they need all new software...and if they choose to use a spinoff...it better be from one of the most popular games out there....Grand Theft Auto

fuck yes!!! Borderlands 2 on Vita!!!

Vita is now $199.99 and they're going to cut the prices of memory cards.

So...Borderlands 2 on the Vita...still not impressed? :p

Is that it for Vita!?!?!?!?
Seems like it with Mark Cerny talking now. I thought the guy had said there were "7 new titles to show off this year blah blah" but I guess I heard wrong.

EDIT: Never mind. Seems like they're still announcing Vita games. They're just PS4/Vita titles.

More ports :/  I don't understand why Sony cant get developers to make new games for the Vita or at least make ports come date and date with other versions.  I haven't picked up Rogue legacy because I knew it was coming to Vita but I didn't think it would be a 2014 title.  I'm not waiting that long to play it so I'll just pick up the PC version.

Its great Sony is high on indie's but they need to understand that what made indie games popular on Xbox 360 was that most of them(Braid, Super Meat Boy, Castle Crashers, Fez, etc) came first on xbox 360.  Releasing indie games on PS4/Vita that came out years ago on other platforms doesn't have much appeal imo.

I agree, but I think at this point Sony is also trying to win over the developers so it will pay off down the line.

Where are the big Vita announcements? I guess I'm waiting for something that's never coming. I wish these events wouldn't be talked up especially saying it will be a "Vita" event.

I know this sounds nuts, but some people don't play games on a PC.  Like, at all.  Indies are making money developing for vita, so someone must be buying.

Was hoping for a bombshell today, but still a hell of a good show with a lot of new games shown.
