GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. If you have any questions feel free to Email us at [email protected] .

Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.

Estimated Shipping Costs:

The following are shipping estimates for standards weights. This will give you a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to ship your item to Canada. If you live in another country, feel free to inquire by contacting us directly.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds
$77.50 = 21 Pounds
$80.00 = 22 Pounds
$83.00 = 23 Pounds
$85.50 = 24 Pounds
$88.00 = 25 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items. This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

Going to work now guys. Last day before my long stretch of days off (and 3 day trip to NYC...no longer going to LA). Lots of packing and invoicing still ^_^

telepathy, yeah seems like it's US only. Sorry man. Hope you can get something to work out for ya :) I want a Canadian bank account so I can understand your frustrations.

Hey goomba, if I had a Dragon Age: Origins DLC code available and wanted you to list it on eBay for me, how does that work? Have you had any experience selling that particular code before?

telepathy, if anything, you could try to get a Paypal debit card which works as a Mastercard with your balance being your limit. Although that may be limited to the Premier account and above. I've had one for about 6 years now and am grandfathered into the 1.5% cashback (might be 1% now) when using the card. It works great with Amazon.com as I've used on an order sent to goomba recently.

[quote name='telepathy']How would you apply for that one?[/QUOTE]

Your best bet is to log in to your account and type in "debit card" in the help section and there should be a link to start an application. Couldn't go further myself as I already have the card, so I'm not sure if the option is still available for Canadians.

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/acc/dc_intro-outside is the link I got from the help section, but it might be safer to just search for it on the Paypal site.

.[/QUOTE]

Awesome...I can't wait to see the "your package has shipped" email soon :D I can only imagine how long it is taking you to package and invoice all the orders that have come in over the last couple of weeks...crazy :whee:

game_fanatic, I haven't sold that particular code but I have sold several other ones. If you want to do it, just send me the code and I will list it. I will just deduct Paypal fees and 15% of the ending price and send you the rest (or give it to you as GFC credit, either way). Just keep in mind there's always a small risk that the person will use the code and claim it didn't work and get their money back. Doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Let me know if you want to sell it :)

[quote name='telepathy']lol, thanks goomba for the help. i'll definitely give it a try.

edit:damn, no option available for me :(. Goddamnit, that sucks.

Anyone have some CND that they want to give for USD?[/QUOTE]

How much are you looking for?

I've got $17.50 CDN I could trade you for USD if you want.

tkszeto, I already converted it for now but next time I'll let you guys know ^_^ Thanks.

Azumangaman, no I'm sorry to say that they cannot (at least not yet). They are a separate currency altogether. I may run specials in the future that let you use certain amounts of them towards DR's but not yet.

JetEngineJesus, I'd be happy to. Just realize that the shipping of the Wii is going to cost like $30 USD so you probably wouldn't be saving all that much in the end, but if you'd want to do it I'd be happy to try and get you one!

** Gamefly Sale **

Just wanted to let you guys know that Gamefly has a bunch of games on sale for a limited time. Are any of you interested in them? Let me know. A few of you sent in DR's but I'm not sure if you knew about it. Let me know ^_^

Another busy day. Worked my day shift job at my casino job, got home to a bunch of freshly delivered packages + 20 new DR's. Unpacked a bunch of items, just finished invoicing the new DR's and now I'm back to packing. Looks like I'll be doing this for quite a while ^_^

Tomorrow I'm going to my University job, but there I have computer access almost 24/7 so it helps cut down on time because I can respond to questions/emails and even send out some DR's during quieter times which gives me more time to pack later on when I get home. Friday I'm planning to stay home and pack all day, Saturday will be the same and Sunday I'm leaving for New York City for 3 days. When I get back, it's back to normal. I will ship out as many items as humanly possible!

Thanks guys for your patience :) Black Friday this year was crazier than I expected which is funny because in the chat room I thought it'd be a lot quieter than it actually turned out to be ^_^;;

It sucked. Just because I decided the one day I would sleep in before midnight, they had the chat room stuff where apparently it was a blast. Made me sad that I missed it :(.

What would be a reasonable rate to exchange at?

telepathy, no problem. We'll definitely do another chat room :) I saved the log of the entire chat from our adventures on Black Friday if you ever want to check it out lol.

I will probably do another one (not so late in the evening =P) to say hi to you guys and just chat. I'm not sure when but definitely sooner than later ^_^ Finding a time that we can all meet may be tricky but I'm sure we'll figure out something. Maybe after I get the automated request system up and running haha. I'm sure you guys will have plenty of questions about it (and/or suggestions on how to improve it). Thanks again.

Off to bed I go. Packages to ship tomorrow!

PuppetYuber, invoice sent on GCO :) Thanks! I went ahead and ordered Killzone 2. Silent Hill Homecoming is going to require me to wait a day before they process it but it should go through no problem. Cross your fingers ^_^ Thanks again. Off to bed I go for real!

Oh cool, probably be vaguely interested just to see what people were talking about at the moment.

dont ship them separately though! i want them shipped with amazon's orders

Yeh, that's kinda what I figured; what would the total cost to me in USD be incl. shipping and your take? even with the shipping it's still $20 CDN cheaper than I could find it up here... :p

PuppetYuber, yeah no problem :) I can combine the shipping of the items for you.

JetEngineJesus, it'd be $247 USD or so (because they still charge $200 for it plus 6% Sales Tax) and you'd get a $50 gift card. Altogether you're not really saving much but you are essentially getting it tax free which is always nice. Unless you have to pay customs. Then you're back to square one =P

** GFC UPDATE **

I'm sad to say that I'm going to be laid off from my job (University job, not the casino one) this upcoming April. I've worked there since 2003, so that's a real bummer and a half. For you guys it means I'll be ramping up my business a lot and spending a lot more time developing GFC (as it will be more of an actual source of income rather than a side project), so I'll be looking forward to working with you guys on making the site as good as possible. Maybe this is the kick in the pants to get things really moving. It's a bittersweet moment, but as an optimist I'm going to have to make the best of it.

2010 is truly going to be the year of GFC!

Thanks for the optimism guys :) Much appreciated. I have been working part time as an "University Computer Specialist" meaning that we basically repair broken systems, put together new systems, build websites (hey! that's where I learned most of what I use on GFC after all), and do general computer support things. It's a great job, I work with my two closest cousins in the same office and I make decent money doing it. It'll be hard to let go, but I knew this day would come eventually. I was hired in 2003 as a special payroll worker and now that the the economy is so bad (my state has all sorts of budget cuts coming up next year), I knew I wouldn't be able to stay forever.

I only work 20 hours a week or so, but I'll have to work twice as hard to make that up elsewhere. Wish me luck ^_^

Tetsugen, yeah I'm happy the CAD / CND is doing well :) The USD sucks compared to the Japanese Yen lately (been dropping daily). Good to know. Hope it stays high ^_^

That is a shame Goomba ...well at least it will give you more time to focus on GFC as you said :)

Yowza! Thanks anyway, Goomba; think I'll take a pass on the Wii for now :p

Hey, sorry to hear about you getting laid off dude... my company did some "restructuring" a couple of months ago and kinda 'restructured' me out of a job too...

Sorry to hear that goomba, but like everyone has been saying, I'm sure you'll be fine. Canadian CAGers will help you out!

@telepathy - So as not to hijack goomba's thread, let's discuss the paypal currency via PM.

This morning it was more like I walked into the office and my boss was sitting in my chair talking to my cousin (who shares the office with me) and he was like "Oh hey, there he is"...

I was like, "uh oh". He said "So I take it you got the Email this morning?" and I was like "Nope. What Email" and then his face turned to disappointment and he let me know. They'd really like to keep me as a matter of fact, but the University (and the state in general since it's a state-school) is putting hiring freezes up in many departments and getting rid of almost all special payroll workers.

I'll definitely rebound, and I have until mid April but that's going to come really fast. So I better get working on my automated forms!

Hey Goomba, I know you have sent stuff to Russia, so I assume australia would be the same.

For the PS3, how much did the shipping and insurance cost roughly?

I'm referring an Australian to you from my computer consultation thingie that apparently I got adopted into thanks to youtube

Last edited by a moderator:
RoganSarine, yes I have shipped to Russia and ship to Australia weekly as well (they're catching up to you Canadians in numbers little by little). When you say PS3 you're talking about an older model (60GB/80GB/20GB/160GB) or one of the newer slim models? Let me know :) Thanks!

Well, they don't actually want a PS3 shipped to them... Just in total the old model should be roughly the weight to expect...

He actually wants computer parts.

Australia is notoriously expensive to ship to. I typically ship 1-5 pounds no problem but a shipped PS3 weighs nearly 20-22 pounds shipped. So your friend would be paying between $125 - $135 USD shipped for that amount of weight. Obviously lighter items would cost a lot less =P

Dually noted... How much would something that weighs...

1 Pounds
2 Pounds
5 Pounds

Cost respectively to australia? Everything he has is roughly of one of those 3 denominations, but in total it's probably gonna come out to 15 pounds or so

** Australian Shipping Rates **

Australia is interesting because for smaller items you can ship certain Flat Rate boxes (I'll give you the dimensions) for less money. Here are some examples:

USPS-supplied Priority Mail Small Flat-Rate Box 5 3/8" x 8 1/2" X 1 3/4". Maximum weight 4 pounds. [Priority Mail ] = $14.50 USD

USPS 1 Pound (Standard Package Sizes/Envelopes) [First Class] = $12.50 USD

USPS 2 Pounds (Standard Package Sizes/Envelopes) [First Class] = $19.50 USD

USPS 3 Pounds (Standard Package Sizes/Envelopes) [First Class] = $26.50 USD

USPS 4 Pounds (Standard Package Sizes/Envelopes) [First Class] = $33.50 USD

USPS 5 Pounds (Standard Package Sizes/Envelopes) [Priority Mail] = $48.50 USD

USPS-supplied Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box: 12" x 12" x 5 1/2". Maximum weight 20 pounds. [Priority Mail] = $56.50 USD

==========
I'll put this in the main page's first post soon enough :)

Well Australia is a bit ahead of Canada in the customs department. They can accept up to $300 USD worth of items duty free in most cases :) So they kind of do actually.

** GFC UPDATE **

I am going to launch the NEW Beta version of the Multi-Item Direct Request page tonight within the next hour. The first person to request an item and complete it (pay for it after receiving the invoice) through the new DR page will receive $2.00 bonus Canuck Bucks!

Good luck ^_^

** GFC UPDATE **

Okay guys it's live ^_^ The old Direct Request Page has been replaced with the new BETA Multiple Items DR form. It now allows unlimited items. To qualify for the 2 free Canuck Bucks you will have to order more than one item to be fair :) Good luck!

http://www.gamesforcanada.com/direct-request.php

Oh and the reason this took almost an hour...I just redid the signup / register for GFC page from scratch so now it will be a lot prettier now! Enjoy ^_^ I poured my heart and soul into this update. Hope it works as intended!!

I love it! I'm gonna win, already sent one off....
Its really great, I love how you can just keep adding and adding items (or so it seems anyway).

We have a (potential) winner ^_^ Azumangaman filled out the first DR Multiple Item (DRMI) Form submission. I have sent the invoice. Once you complete your payment you will win $2.00 in additional free Canuck Bucks :)

I'm really curious what you guys think of the new form. Let me know if you experience any problems. I will be improving it and adding all sorts of new additions to it soon. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a LOT of packing to do still.

Azumangaman, yes you can add infinite (well up to like 10,000 items or so) on a single form :) I thought that doing it this way would be a lot easier than having multiple pages or a set number of fields. Just think of the possibilities!

You probably don't notice, but the checkout page is much more organized now as well. I took out all the glitchy text issues of the old page, I organized it into sections for each item (with their own item name/website/additional info) and the Email you receive for your confirmation SHOULD have all the same info as well :)

The next updates will build upon this update. Now that I have a solid foundation on this all and a better understanding of what PHP can and can't do I will be doing a few things:

1) Allowing you to pre-pay right after putting in the request
2) Have the order go into a Database to log all the orders
3) Have a real-time GYROS update for all orders (this is coming probably in mid-January as it's a really big update).

and maybe a few other tricks up my sleeve too :)

All of that sounds great!

I'm really sorry about you losing your job by the way :(

If things go right for me, I'll be going to University in the US/UK, so I need to order lots now In case I'm too broke for the next 10 years of my life :)

P.S., When can we expect to see some reward stuff? Any chance for BluRays/DVDs?

Azumangaman, don't worry. My main job at the casino is still secure (for now) so the University job is more of an emotional blow than a financial one. I was only able to work 38 hours bi-weekly which means after taxes and such I made roughly $1000 a month at that job. Not a small chunk of change, but I can make that I'm sure if I work really hard at my home business(es). Btw, I ordered your items :) Thanks again!

The Reward stuff is looking like it will be late December / Early January. Only because I want to do it right and don't want it be crashing and buggy at launch. I may do some sort of soft BETA launch for you regulars :) We'll see. First I have to focus on getting the Black Friday/Cyber Monday orders all done.
